Privacy notice

This notice explains how Independent Roof Survey (“we”) uses the personal information you give us, under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Last updated 27 October 2026.

What we collect

  • Through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number, the property address or postcode, the service you’re asking about, your message and any photos you upload.
  • By email: whatever you send us, including photos.
  • By phone: the details you give us during the call, and your phone number.
  • When we survey: the property address, access details, and the photographs and findings in your report.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry, give you a price, arrange and carry out your survey, send you the report, answer follow-up questions, and keep the business records the law requires. We use it because you’ve asked us to do something for you (taking steps towards and carrying out a contract), because we have a legal obligation (for example, tax records), or because we have a legitimate interest in running the business. We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business, such as our email and website hosting providers, and anyone the law requires us to share it with. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead to a survey are kept only as long as we need them to deal with the enquiry. Survey records and reports are kept for as long as we need them for our business, insurance and legal obligations, then deleted.

This website

This site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn’t use call tracking.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email info@independentroofsurvey.co.uk or call 07833 053749. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
