About our new roof snagging in Frindsbury
Our inspection covers the slates or tiles, ridges, verges, hips and valleys plus flashings and roof ventilation. At the eaves we look at how the underlay is dressed into the gutter, where it can be seen, and we look at the gutters too. You get a photo report of what we found. We also note debris left behind and any damage to other parts of the building. Common reasons to book are loose or badly finished ridge tiles and cracked lower roofs or marked walls after the work, across ridges and verges, new-build homes and replacement roofs.
Houses in smaller places like Frindsbury can stand more in the open than those in a built-up town, so their roofs may take more wind and driving rain. Loose ridge tiles, lifted coverings and tired flashings are the kind of things that show it. Whether you are buying or signing off new work, those edges deserve a proper look. On an exposed roof, a loose ridge or verge soon becomes a bigger job.
After the visit, you get a written report with photos, sent by email. It explains the condition of the new roof, the defects we found and what we recommend.

What you can safely check yourself
Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. You won’t see flashings, valleys or the backs of chimneys properly from ground level.
Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Photograph them and note the date, which helps when we look at the roof.

What affects the cost of new roof snagging
We confirm the price for the job before booking. This is what makes a difference:
- Building height and the viewpoints available
- Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
- How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
- How big the roof is
A Basic Survey starts from £150, inc. VAT. Standard is from £250 and Premium from £400. You’ll know the price for the job before booking.
Helping us price your survey
You don’t need to know any roofing terms. It is enough to tell us:
- The kind of building and roof involved
- Whether there’s a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
To book a survey, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address and what you’d like to know about the roof. You will know the price before anything is booked.
Frindsbury: your questions answered
Is my home in Frindsbury listed or in a conservation area?
Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the local council can tell you about conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
Do you cover smaller places like Frindsbury?
Yes, we do. We survey roofs across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest villages. The journey is planned ahead, so it’s useful to know about access.
Does the weather affect the survey?
Some surveys depend on the weather more than others. Drone flights need calm, dry weather, and thermal imaging works best with a dry roof, little wind and a sunny day beforehand. If the conditions are not right, we will talk to you about another date.
How experienced are you?
Over 20 years and more than 5,000 surveys, across London and South East England.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
Surveys run on any day of the week. To find a day that suits you, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes, once whoever controls the roof agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we’re allowed to reach, and the report makes that clear.
How long will you be on site?
Most house visits take about 1–2 hours with commercial roofs nearer 3–4 hours.
New roof snagging in Frindsbury: local notes
Frindsbury lies within about 3 miles of the sea, and being near the sea means more wind and salt than a roof inland would face. Corroded clips and nails and lifted ridge pieces are typical of exposed roofs near the sea. Historic houses such as Restoration House, about 0.9 miles south, show how far back building in the area around Frindsbury goes. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters.
If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near All Saints Church, ask the seller about past roof repairs, because older roofs frequently have patched valleys, replaced slates and reset ridges. If you let a flat or house near Strood station, a written report helps before buying a rental or paying for a new roof on one.

What we cannot see
In fairness, there are limits to any roof survey:
- Pricing the remedial work
- What’s under the new coverings
- A promise that the roof will not leak
If in doubt, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we’ll point you to the right survey before booking. The full list of what we check.

- New flat roofs
- Loft conversions and dormers
Leave it or get it looked at?
Some faults only show when water gets in. An inspection before that point gives you a record of the roof as handed over. With lower homes, common in places like Frindsbury, there’s little between a roof defect and the ceiling, so water can show inside quickly once it gets past the covering. Finding the cause first saves a second job inside.
Every price we give includes VAT. Our price is from £150, including VAT. We confirm the price for your roof before booking.

How it works
We photograph the roof as we go, so you can see in the report what we found and where. We take close-ups from wherever is safe, including by drone where it’s applicable and the weather allows. A typical visit takes about one to two hours at a typical home, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. A visit to a smaller place like Frindsbury is no different on the day: we look from ground level, from windows, from the loft and from the roof where it is safe. It helps to show us anything you’ve already noticed.
- We ask what work was done and when it was finished.
- We look at the tiles or slates, ridges, hips and verges from safe vantage points.
- We check valleys, flashings and gutters, and the underlay at the eaves where it is visible.
- Where it is safe, we check the loft, then look for debris or damage left behind.
- We send a photo-illustrated written report of each snag.
Getting ready for the survey
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
- Agree roof access with the managing agent if it’s shared
- Check we can get to the back of the property
Booking a survey
Photos help, if you have them. Pictures from ground level or a window are fine; never climb up to get a better view. To send them or to book, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
