Keeres Green Drone Roof Survey
Get a clear view of the roof at a property in Keeres Green from an independent roof surveyor. We visit on weekdays and at weekends.
- Standing water on a flat roof
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
Rented homes, blocks and businesses
We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, from shops and offices to industrial units. Bigger roofs take more time, so they’re priced to suit.
For a freeholder or residents’ company, a roof report is a sound basis for a maintenance plan, putting the urgent items at the top.
Drone roof survey in Keeres Green: what you get
A drone shows the outside of a roof very well, but it cannot see under the coverings or into the loft. Where there’s safe access, we look in the loft space too, because the underside tells its own story. Together, the two give a fuller picture. The report sets out what the drone showed and what we found inside. If there is no safe loft access, the report says so. Typical surveys look at outlets choked with leaves and silt and moss building up on slopes and in gutters, on tall and steep roofs, fragile roofs and valleys and parapet gutters.
In a small place like Keeres Green, open ground can mean strong wind. High wind or heavy rain stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
The Standard Survey adds moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey goes further, with thermal imaging, drone inspection where it applies, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

Roof by roof
Ridges and hips
The ridge takes wind from both sides. From above, we can see loose ridges and missing mortar.
Valleys and parapet gutters
A butterfly roof drains to a central valley gutter. It’s almost impossible to see from ground level, but a drone shows it clearly.

Tips from our surveys
Over many surveys, some simple habits stand out as worth the effort:
- Book early if you are near an airport
- Move stored items away from the hatch
- Share the postcode so we can check for restrictions
- Check there’s room outside for the drone to take off
With the Premium Survey, the report arrives the same day. Drone photographs are included where we could fly.
Check the loft now and then, with care and a good torch. A drone sees the outside, but the loft shows leaks and condensation from below. Photograph anything new.
Common questions in Keeres Green
Is my home in Keeres Green listed or in a conservation area?
Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. It’s worth checking before planning roof work, as both can affect what’s allowed.
Is drone flying allowed in Keeres Green?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Do you work in Keeres Green?
Yes. We survey roofs in Keeres Green and the rest of Essex. To book, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
Can you survey at the weekend?
We survey seven days a week: Monday to Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Let us know which days suit you as you book.
How much does a drone roof survey cost in Keeres Green?
Our price is from £400, including VAT. Our three packages are Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, including VAT.
How long does the survey take?
Time on site depends on the roof; most visits take an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. The written report follows by email.
Do you climb onto every roof?
Only when it is safe. Most of what we need can be seen from safe viewpoints, the loft and, where applicable, a drone.
What we cannot see
We only report whatever is safely visible on the day, so there are some things a survey cannot cover:
- A flight on a day when the weather is not safe
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads
- A flight where airspace permission is refused
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we’ll tell you. What our survey covers.

How the survey works
It is useful to start with what’s prompted the survey: a purchase, a leak, a storm, new work or simply peace of mind. It helps us focus on what matters most to you. The visit typically takes between one and two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. For a village or hamlet like Keeres Green, the journey is planned beforehand: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. On the day, we inspect whatever is safely visible, inside and out.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
- We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.
Before the survey
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
- Unlock side gates and any roof access doors
- Note where any stains or damp appear
Arrange a survey
Booking is simple: just ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and give us a few details about the property and we will explain which survey suits. The price is agreed up front.

DIY checks: what’s safe
A lot can be seen from the ground. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Never climb onto the roof to look.
If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, checking for stains, damp wood or chinks of daylight.
Drones, thermal imaging and Keeres Green roofs
Clay tiles and timber weatherboarding mark out many of the older buildings in Essex, alongside a good many post-war and newer estates. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up close-up aerial shots and thermal images help. Our drone weighs under 250g, and we hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID. In the open category, flights stay below 120 m (400 ft) and within sight.
Take an older house close to Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels: thin or patchy insulation under an old roof frequently shows up clearly on a thermal image. Barrington Hall lies about 3.4 miles north-west, so building around Keeres Green goes back a long way. Aerial photos and thermal images let an old roof be checked without anyone disturbing it. If you look after a building like Rodings Primary School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.
