Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Lynsore Bottom
A drone can see more than your roof, so we take care. The camera stays on your roof, not on gardens or windows next door. If your roof is joined to a neighbour’s, it is worth letting them know about the visit. We inspect only what the owner has asked us to. Each flight is kept short and stays focused on the roof we are there to survey. We’re often asked to look into ridge pieces that have lifted and lead work pulling away at abutments, on valleys and parapet gutters, large and complex roofs and tall and steep roofs.
Older buildings in small places like Lynsore Bottom may be listed or in a conservation area. A look by drone or thermal camera does not touch the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care, before anyone decides what work it needs. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.
Nothing in the report is left vague: where something needs attention, it says so plainly, and where it can wait, that is said too.

Why act early in Lynsore Bottom
Photos from a drone survey show how the roof looks today. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It helps when you plan ahead. For an older or listed building in a place like Lynsore Bottom, repairs may need matching materials and consent, so leaving a defect until it is urgent leaves less time to plan.
Prices start from £400, including VAT. Packages run from Basic at £150 through Standard at £250 to Premium at £400, inc. VAT.

What we can’t see
Our survey is not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. It also has these limits:
- Structural calculations (that is a structural engineer’s job)
- Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
If you’re not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and does not.

What you can safely check yourself
Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Photograph them and note the date, as it helps a surveyor trace the cause.
Look up at the roof after a storm, from the ground: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.
Common questions in Lynsore Bottom
Do you cover smaller places like Lynsore Bottom?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our area covers London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when booking.
Is my home in Lynsore Bottom listed or in a conservation area?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it is in a conservation area. If a home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission.
How experienced are you?
Over 5,000 surveys so far, over more than 20 years, with 98% customer satisfaction.
Can you tell me if my roof has asbestos?
No. Asbestos surveys and sampling are not something we do. The report may flag materials that could contain asbestos on buildings built or refurbished before 2000, with a recommendation to have a specialist asbestos surveyor check before it’s disturbed.
Will you photograph next door’s garden?
We keep the camera on the roof we’re surveying. We inspect only the roof you’ve asked about. If your roof is shared, it helps to tell your neighbours about the visit.
Can you survey at the weekend?
Surveys can be booked for any day of the week: Monday to Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Let us know which days suit you as you book.
Do you climb onto every roof?
Only where it’s safe to do so. We inspect what can be seen safely: from the ground, from windows, from inside the roof space, from the roof where it is safe and by drone where it applies. The report says if anything couldn’t be seen.
What a survey costs
We confirm the price for your survey before you book. These are the things that affect it:
- The roof’s overall size
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
- Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
- Which survey package you book
Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where applicable) come with the Premium Survey, which starts from £400, inc. VAT. We will tell you which package suits the questions you have.

If you can, have these to hand when you contact us:

What happens on the day
Every roof is different, but as a rough guide the survey takes about 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. If you have questions on the day, just ask. Cottages and farmhouses around Lynsore Bottom often have roofs at several levels, with lean-tos and outbuildings attached. Each part is looked at from wherever it can safely be seen, and anything we can’t see is noted.
- You give us the address and tell us about the roof.
- Airspace restrictions are checked and permission sought where needed.
- On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
- We fly the sub-250g drone close to the roof and photograph each area.
- We email the report with close-up photos and recommendations.
Before the survey
- Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with whoever owns or manages the building
- Buyers: confirm access with the estate agent or seller
Booking a survey
Most bookings start with a short call: call 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will ask a few questions about the roof. The price is agreed before a date is set.
Advice
Different roofs, different checks
Chimney stacks
The drone shows the outside of the stack, not a flue, gas or sweep inspection. If the flue needs a specialist, we’ll tell you.
Ridges and hips
Wind lifts loose ridge and hip tiles. Spotting them early stops them falling.
Drone roof surveys around Lynsore Bottom
Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. England has around 10,000 conservation areas and about 500,000 listed buildings. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material, so check with the council.
If you live in an older home near Church of St Peter and St Paul, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from ground level, and that is where a view from above or with a thermal imager helps. For any home in Lynsore Bottom, it’s the small, early fault that is cheapest to put right.
