Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Nash
Prices start from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where it applies, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone will not help on your roof, we will say so. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. We survey chimney stacks, flat roofs on upper floors and large and complex roofs, and people most frequently book us about slipped or missing slates on a high roof and moss and weeds taking hold up top.
Somewhere as small as Nash, older roofs are frequently steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what cannot be reached safely. Weather and airspace are checked ahead of the visit, and the journey is planned ahead of time. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.
Most points in the report come with a picture, so you can see each defect rather than just read about it. If something couldn’t be seen safely, the report is clear about it.

What a drone roof survey looks like in Nash
Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. Slate and clay tile are the usual coverings on older South East houses, with concrete tiles on many later estates, with flat-roofed extensions, dormers and garages common everywhere. Many roofs like these can’t be judged properly from the pavement, and that’s where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place.
For any home in Nash, it’s the small, early fault that is cheapest to put right. The streets around a church like Church of All Saints are frequently among the oldest in a place, and if yours is one of the older homes nearby, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.

What else we do in Nash
The survey, step by step
Expect us to ask a few questions before we start, about the roof’s history, any leaks and past repairs. The inspection then takes about one to two hours for most houses, or half a day or so for a commercial building. Around Nash, older homes can have small or awkward roof spaces, so tell us about the loft hatch and any ladder. We only go where it is safe.
- First, we check whether a drone is the right tool.
- A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
- Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
- Where there is safe access, we check the loft as well.
- You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.
How to prepare
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with the freeholder or managing agent
- Tell us where we can park nearby
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey

Advice
Rented homes, blocks and businesses
If the property is let, the agent or a tenant can let us in, at a time agreed beforehand. We survey on weekdays and at weekends, which helps when tenants work during the week.
With a portfolio of properties, surveys can be booked for more than one address. To discuss a number of properties, call 07833 053749 or email us.
Tips from our surveys
Most of what helps is simple and safe from the ground. A few suggestions:
- Make sure the loft can be reached
- Shut pets inside while we fly
- Tell us about any leaks or concerns
- Be ready to move the date if the weather turns
We email the report to you, including the close-up photos taken by the drone. Findings are set out in plain English, with recommendations prioritised by urgency where relevant.
Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, ideally once the leaves have fallen. On high roofs, leave clearing to a professional. Blocked hidden gutters cause many leaks.
Should I look at the roof myself first?
Your own check is a good start, but it isn’t a survey. You won’t see flashings, valleys or the backs of chimneys properly from the ground.
Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Water spilling over the edge can be a sign of a blockage or a gutter that has dropped.
What we cannot see
No survey can tell you everything, and we’d rather be clear about that before booking. Keep these in mind:
- A structural engineer’s report
- A flight where airspace permission is refused
- Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will suggest the right survey before booking. What our survey covers.
What this survey covers
- Fragile roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Large and complex roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors

Common questions in Nash
Is drone flying allowed in Nash?
Typically it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Will you come out to Nash?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We survey roofs across London and South East England. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when booking.
How experienced are you?
Over 5,000 surveys so far, over more than 20 years.
Can you survey in bad weather?
Light rain is typically fine; heavy rain and wind are different. In strong wind or heavy rain, a drone cannot fly and access may not be safe, and we’d agree another day.
Are you structural engineers?
No. We are experienced roof surveyors, and visible signs such as sagging are noted, but we do not provide calculations or an engineer’s opinion. The report will say if you need an engineer.
Is this an asbestos survey?
No. Asbestos surveys and testing aren’t part of what we do. We flag materials that could contain asbestos, such as cement sheets or soffits on pre-2000 buildings and suggest a specialist asbestos surveyor checks them before any work.
When does the report arrive?
Report times are set by the package. Basic: within 48 hours. Standard: 24 to 48 hours. Premium: the same day. Mention any deadline when booking.
What affects the cost of drone roof surveys

What to tell us when you get in touch
To price your survey accurately, we’ll ask about:
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
- Where the property is, with the postcode
- Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
To book a survey, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and tell us the address and what’s prompted the survey. You’ll know the price before anything is booked.
