Enton Green Electronic Leak Detection
Electronic leak detection across Enton Green, with over 20 years’ experience behind it. Every survey ends with a written report and photographs.
- Breaches hidden under paving or planting
- Water coming in under a flat roof
- Leaking laps in the waterproofing
Why it is worth a survey now in Enton Green
A visual inspection can miss tiny holes. Electronic testing can find breaches you cannot see by eye where the roof suits it. Around Enton Green, older homes often have old roof timbers, where water from a failed roof can cause rot if it is left.
To find out what your survey will cost, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and tell us about the roof. The price is agreed before a date is set.

How electronic leak detection works in Enton Green
You get a report showing the location of each breach, with photographs. Your roofer can then repair those points instead of hunting for the leak. Repair costs aren’t part of the report; that’s for your roofer to price. A retest after repairs can check the work if the build-up allows. Results come in a written report with photos. Typical surveys look at damage from equipment installers and holes around roof penetrations, across single-ply roofs, roof terraces and balconies and flat roof membranes.
Some older homes in villages like Enton Green are listed or in a conservation area, which can shape what a new flat roof may look like. Check with the council before planning any change of material. Knowing the roof’s condition is the starting point. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent.
The report is yours to share with whoever needs it: your solicitor, the seller, your insurer, a roofer or the building’s managing agent.

FAQs for Enton Green
Is my home in Enton Green listed or in a conservation area?
Check Historic England’s online list first, then ask the council about conservation areas and any Article 4 direction. It matters most if you are planning to re-roof in a different material.
Is Enton Green in the area you cover?
Yes, Enton Green is one of the places we work. Every survey there gets the same written report with photos, and visits run on weekdays and weekends.
When does the report arrive?
The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. Each one is emailed.
Will I get photos?
Yes. Photos are taken throughout the survey, and they go into the written report.
Do you carry out surveys on Saturdays and Sundays?
Surveys run on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. To find a day that suits you, ring 07833 053749 or email us.
Will you go up on the roof?
Not always. Safety comes first, and fragile or steep roofs cannot always be walked on. Safe viewpoints, the loft and a drone where applicable let us see the rest.
Does this replace a RICS home survey?
No. It’s a specialist roof survey, not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 building survey. It focuses on the roof and can sit alongside a RICS survey.
What electronic leak detection looks like in Enton Green
About 4.1 miles north lies Loseley Park, a reminder of how long the area around Enton Green has been built on. On older houses around here, roofs frequently carry the marks of earlier repairs, from replaced slates to new lead, and any change of roofing material on a listed home needs checking with the council first. In Surrey, older roofs are often handmade clay tile, with tile-hanging on many upper walls. Some old buildings in Surrey and Sussex have Horsham stone slab roofs. Alongside them, flat-roofed extensions, dormers, garages and commercial units are common almost everywhere.
Landlords with a home close to Milford (Surrey) station may find that a flat roof over a rented flat is easy to forget until the tenant reports a leak. Take a building like The Chandler CofE Aided Junior School: large flat roofs, common on schools and other public buildings, need their outlets, upstands and coverings checked regularly. If your house is among the older ones in the streets near Church of All Saints, the flat roofs on later extensions tend to wear out long before the main roof.

Roof by roof
EPDM rubber roofs
Whether an EPDM roof can be tested depends on the membrane and build-up. We check this first.
Bituminous membranes
Older felt roofs often have seams and patches that can leak. We test where the roof suits it.
What this survey can’t tell you
Our survey isn’t a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. It also has these limits:
- Repairing the breaches (that is for your roofer)
- Roofs whose membrane or build-up isn’t suitable
- Moisture spread under the membrane
If you are not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer. What our survey covers.
What we look at
- Liquid-applied waterproofing
- Green roofs
- Flat roof membranes
- Roof terraces and balconies
- Commercial flat roofs
- Single-ply roofs
Should I look at the roof myself first?
Look up at the roof after a storm, from the ground: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Do not go up yourself.
Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Photograph them and note the date.
Practical tips
A few practical points come up again and again on our surveys. They apply to most roofs:
- Ask contractors to protect the membrane
- Find the breach before more patching
- Consider ELD before paving or planting goes on
- Let us know about the membrane and build-up if you know it
If anything in the report is not clear, ask us. We can talk you through the findings.
Keep people off the flat roof unless they need to be there. Many breaches come from foot traffic.
What happens on the day
Photos are taken throughout the visit, so you can see in the report what we found and where. We take close-ups from wherever is safe. Most surveys take a time that depends on the size of the roof and how it’s built, and we’ll give you a guide when quoting. Somewhere as small as Enton Green, access is often the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- We ask about the roof, its age, its membrane and where leaks appear inside.
- We confirm whether the roof is suitable for electronic testing.
- The testing method is chosen to suit the membrane and build-up.
- The roof is tested and any breaches are located.
- We send a report with photos of each breach so your roofer can repair it.
Preparing for the visit
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
- Find any records of previous roof work
- Leave a clear route to the loft
