Dragons Green New Roof Snagging
New roof snagging for homes and businesses in Dragons Green. We’ve completed more than 5,000 surveys across London and South East England.
- Loose flashings at walls or chimneys
- Offcuts and broken tiles left behind
- Gutters or fascias damaged during the job
Why get it checked now?
A defects or warranty period doesn’t last for ever. A snagging inspection before then leaves time to act. Around Dragons Green, older homes often have old roof timbers, and water through a failed covering can rot timber if it’s left.
All our prices include VAT. Our price is from £150, including VAT. You will know the price for your roof before booking.

About our new roof snagging in Dragons Green
Our report records what we see with photos and plain descriptions. If there is a disagreement about the work, it is between you and your roofer or builder. Our report gives you an independent record to refer to. The report does not price repairs or settle who is responsible, but it describes what we saw in plain terms. If you’re worried about underlay ending short at the eaves and verge tiles or slates not secured, a survey will tell you what’s going on, on new-build homes, ridges and verges and new flat roofs alike.
For a small place like Dragons Green, the visit is planned like any other: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. If there are outbuildings with roofs you want checked, mention them when booking. Whether you are buying or checking new work, the same care goes into it. Weekday and weekend visits are both available.
Nothing in the report is left vague: if work is needed, the report says so clearly, along with how urgent it is.

New roof snagging in Dragons Green: local notes
Older buildings may be listed or sit in a conservation area. Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the council can say whether a street is in a conservation area. Re-roofing in different materials may need permission there. In Sussex, older roofs are frequently handmade clay tile, frequently with tile-hanging on the walls below. Some old buildings in Sussex have Horsham stone slab roofs. Material and age explain a lot of what turns up on the day, whether the roof is old or brand new.
If you live in an older home near The Church of St Mary the Virgin, the roof may have had decades of patch repairs, and the survey shows where they are.
Dragons Green is about 5 miles south-west of Horsham, in West Sussex. Dragons Green is one of many places we visit across West Sussex. Our West Sussex coverage includes Dragons Green and the places around it. There is also a page for Crawley.

When to book a survey in Dragons Green
Many people book because something doesn’t look right. Others want an independent check as a matter of course before signing off the job.
These are some of the problems a survey can pick up:
- Underlay not dressed into the gutter
- Loose or badly finished ridge tiles
- Verge tiles or slates not secured
- Gaps at new flashings
For landlords with property near Billingshurst station, it’s worth knowing a roof’s condition before you buy it, or before you sign off new roofing work on it.
Questions to ask before you book
- Their drone registration, if they fly one
- What exactly goes into their report
- Their insurance cover
- Is there a chance to talk the report through?
What a survey costs
When we price a survey, we consider:
- Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
- The roof’s overall size
- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
The cost of a survey depends on the roof: how big it is, how high it is, the number of separate roofs and how safely it can be seen. New roof snagging starts from £150, including VAT.
What to tell us when you contact us
We will normally ask about:
- The property’s address and postcode
- Access details, such as a loft hatch or a shared roof
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from ground level or a window
We survey roofs on weekdays and at weekends. To arrange a day that suits you, phone 07833 053749 or email us.
How it works
Photographs are taken throughout the visit, so you can see in the report what we found and where. Close-ups come from the safest viewpoint available. Most surveys take about 1–2 hours for most houses, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. For a village or hamlet like Dragons Green, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. The roof is looked at from ground level, from windows, from the loft where there is safe access and from the roof where it is safe.
- First, we note any deadlines and concerns.
- We inspect as far as safe access allows.
- Each detail at ridges, verges, valleys and flashings is looked at.
- We check the gutters, lower roofs and walls for debris or damage.
- We send a written report you can pass on.
How to prepare
- For flats, check roof access has been agreed
- Have any questions written down, so nothing gets missed
- Make sure the loft hatch can be reached

Advice
Dragons Green: your questions answered
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Dragons Green?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it’s in a conservation area. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
Do you cover smaller places like Dragons Green?
Yes, we do. We survey roofs across London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Will you go up on the roof?
Not unless it is safe. Safe viewpoints, the loft space and a drone where applicable cover most of what’s needed, and anything out of sight is recorded in the report.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes. Shared roofs just need a little more planning, with the building owner or managing agent. Mention it when you contact us and we’ll explain what’s needed.
What does a new roof inspection cost?
Our packages start from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, including VAT. Just call 07833 053749 or drop us an email for a price.
How long will you be on site?
For a house, expect about 1–2 hours on site with commercial roofs nearer 3–4 hours.
Do you get involved if the roofer disagrees with the report?
No, our role is to record the roof’s condition. Any dispute stays between you and your roofer or builder though our report gives you the facts we saw.
