New roof snagging in Froyle: what you get
Our snagging inspections cover Froyle and the rest of London and the South East. Time on site usually takes about one to two hours for a typical new house roof, longer where the roof is large or complicated. We inspect as far as it is safe to see, and by drone where it’s applicable. You then get a report with photos. We inspect on weekdays and at weekends. Common reasons to book are gutters or fascias damaged during the job and untidy or loose verge details, across loft conversions and dormers, new flat roofs and replacement roofs.
Being in a small place like Froyle makes no difference to the inspection itself: the journey, parking and access are simply agreed ahead of time. If there are outbuildings with roofs you want checked, mention them when booking, so the visit can be planned around them. Whether you’re buying or checking new work, the same care goes into it. Weekday and weekend visits are both available.
The written findings come by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Turnaround is within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and same day for Premium.

Why get it checked now?
Defects and warranty periods have an end date. A snagging inspection before then leaves time to act. For older village homes like those around Froyle, the right replacement materials are not always easy to find quickly. That is one more reason to find defects before they become urgent.
Every price we give includes VAT, and the written report is part of the package. New roof snagging starts from £150, including VAT. Size, height and access decide where your roof falls.

What a survey costs
When we price a survey, we consider:
- Whether it’s a home or a commercial building
- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
- The size of the roof
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
The cost of a survey depends on the roof: how big it is, how high it is, the number of separate roofs and how safely it can be seen. Our price is from £150, including VAT.
What we need to know
You don’t need to know any roofing terms. It is enough to let us know:
- Whether there is a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
- What kind of property and roof it is
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
- The address and postcode of the property
When you are ready to go ahead, phone 07833 053749 or email us. We will suggest a package, agree the price and find a date, weekday or weekend.
What happens on the day
There is not much for you to do on the day. Point out anything you’ve noticed, like stains, drips or loose pieces, and we will get on with the inspection. The survey itself takes between one and two hours for a house, and more on a big or complicated roof. Somewhere as small as Froyle, access is frequently the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- We ask what work was done and when it was finished.
- The new coverings, ridge, hips and verges are inspected where it’s safe to see them.
- Flashings, valleys, gutters and visible underlay at the eaves are looked at.
- We look in the loft space, where there’s safe access, and around the property for debris or damage.
- The snags are written up with photos for you to share with your roofer.

What this survey cannot tell you
Before booking, it’s worth knowing what a survey won’t do:
- Areas out of view from every safe viewpoint
- Legal advice on your contract
- Fixings and underlay hidden under the coverings
If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or email us and we will suggest the right survey. What our survey covers.
What this survey covers
- Replacement roofs
- Loft conversions and dormers
- New flat roofs
- Ridges and verges
- New-build homes
- Flashings and valleys
What you can safely check yourself
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.
After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Take a photo and write down when you saw it.
For landlords and managing agents
Managing agents and residents’ management companies use roof surveys to plan maintenance. Recommendations are set out in order of urgency where relevant, which helps when budgeting.
Businesses and commercial landlords can book us too, from shops and offices to industrial units. Bigger roofs take more time.
Buying a home or a new roof in Froyle
Some Hampshire villages still have thatched roofs. Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles. Whether you’re buying or checking new roofing work, knowing the materials helps make sense of what the inspection finds. Older buildings may be listed or sit in a conservation area. To find out, check Historic England’s list and ask the council about conservation areas. Re-roofing in different materials may need permission there.
If you let a flat or house near Bentley (Hampshire) station, a survey before purchase, or before signing off a new roof, saves surprises once a tenant moves in. If you own one of the older houses in the streets near Church of St Mary of the Assumption, the roof’s history matters as much as its looks, and a survey brings the past repairs to light.

Froyle questions
Do you cover Froyle?
We do. Every survey there gets the same written report with photographs.
Will you come out to Froyle?
Yes, we do. We cover the whole of London and South East England, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.
Will you fly a drone over my roof?
Where it helps and it’s safe, yes. Whether we can fly on the day depends on the weather and the airspace rules, including flight restriction zones near airports. We’re a CAA-registered drone operator.
How many surveys have you done?
We have completed more than 5,000 surveys, across 20+ years of surveying roofs.
How much is new roof snagging?
New roof snagging starts from £150, including VAT. The size of the roof and how easy it is to see affect the price. For a price, phone 07833 053749 or email us.
Will you walk on the roof?
Only where it’s safe to do so. We inspect everything that’s safely in view: from ground level, from windows and vantage points, from the roof space, from the roof itself where safe and by drone where it applies. The report says if anything couldn’t be seen.
Does the weather affect the survey?
It depends on the weather and the survey. High wind or heavy rain can make access unsafe and ground a drone, and we’d agree another day.
