Drone roof surveys for Brenzett homes and businesses

Landlord and commercial surveys in Brenzett

Shared roofs need a little more planning: access has to be agreed with whoever owns or manages the building. Mention it when you get in touch and we’ll plan the survey around it.

We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, including offices, shops and units. Bigger roofs take more time.

Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Brenzett

Drone roof surveys are available in Brenzett and throughout London and South East England, subject to airspace checks and the weather. We fly on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. You get a written report with close-up photos and recommendations. To ask whether a drone survey suits your roof, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email. Typical surveys look at tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack and cracked mortar along the ridge, on tall and steep roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and flat roofs on upper floors.

Older buildings in small places like Brenzett may be listed or in a conservation area. A look from the air or with a thermal camera does not touch the roof, so it is a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.

The Standard Survey adds moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey goes further, with thermal imaging, drone inspection where it applies, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

What a survey costs

Every roof is different, so prices are confirmed before you book. This is what makes a difference:

  • Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
  • The shape of the roof and its details
  • Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
  • The type of building, from a house to a block or an office

Prices quoted always include VAT, and the written report is part of the package. Our price is from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.

What to let us know when you get in touch

Before you get in touch, it’s useful to have:

  • Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
  • Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
  • Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
  • The style of property, from a terrace to a block

Photos help, if you have them. Pictures from the ground or a window are fine; never climb up to get a better view. To send them or to book, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form.

Practical tips

A few practical points come up again and again on our surveys. They’re worth knowing whatever the roof:

  • Expect a little longer if permission is needed
  • Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
  • Keep pets indoors during the flight
  • Let neighbours know about the flight if your roof is shared

There’s a follow-up after 12 months with the Premium Survey. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year, and whether work has done its job.

Have leaves and moss cleared from gutters, valleys and outlets, especially in autumn. On tall buildings, use a professional with the right access equipment. Blocked hidden gutters cause many leaks.

The survey, step by step

Every roof is different; as a rough guide, the survey takes about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. If you have questions on the day, just ask. Somewhere as small as Brenzett, access is often the only tricky part. Mention any outbuildings, barns or garages you want included, and anything about the roof you already know. Weekday and weekend visits are available.

  1. We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
  2. We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
  3. We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we’re surveying.
  4. Where there is safe access, we check the loft as well.
  5. The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.

Before we arrive

  • If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building
  • Tell us where we can park nearby
  • Let us know about any leaks, stains or damp patches you know of

How to book

A quick phone call is typically the easiest start: ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will ask a few questions about the roof. You will have a price before anything is arranged.

Questions from Brenzett

Will you come out to Brenzett?

We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house, with the route planned beforehand.

Is my home in Brenzett listed or in a conservation area?

Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the local council can tell you about conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.

How experienced are you?

Over 5,000 surveys so far, across 20+ years of surveying roofs, with 98% customer satisfaction.

Will I get photos?

Yes. Photographs are part of every report, so you can see exactly what each finding refers to.

Are you registered with the CAA?

Yes. We are a CAA-registered drone operator, with a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. Our drone weighs under 250g and keep it in sight at all times.

What do I do with the report?

You receive the written report by email, with photographs and recommendations. You can use it to talk to a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent, whichever applies.

Does the drone show the underside of the roof?

No. The drone photographs the outer surfaces, but not the loft or the underside. We look in the loft from inside where it is safe.

Roof by roof

Ridges and hips

Ridges and hips are the most exposed parts of a pitched roof. From above, we can see loose ridges and missing mortar.

Flat roofs on tall buildings

Flat roof coverings wear out at different rates. Photos show how the covering is wearing.

Honest limits

Our survey isn’t a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. It also has these limits:

  • Structural calculations (that is a structural engineer’s job)
  • Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
  • Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission

Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we’ll tell you. What our survey covers.

What we look at

  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Fragile roofs
  • Valleys and parapet gutters

Drone roof surveys in Brenzett: local notes

Handmade clay tiles, including Kent peg tiles hung on pegs through two holes, are typical of older Kent buildings. The county’s older buildings also include oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses. Where a roof is steep, tall or hard to see from ground level, drone photos and thermal images add detail. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first.

Take a building like Brenzett Church of England Primary School: big roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once. The streets around a church such as St Eanswith's Church are often among the oldest in a place, and if yours is one of the older homes nearby, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.
