Northbridge Street Drone Roof Survey
Drone roof surveys in Northbridge Street from an independent, experienced roof surveyor. Over 5,000 surveys and 20+ years behind us across London and the South East.
- Eroded pointing on a chimney stack
- Cracked mortar along the ridge
- Cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below
What you can safely check yourself
Your own check is a good start, but it isn’t a survey. From ground level, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are frequently out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.
Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Send it with your enquiry and it will help the survey.
Drone roof survey in Northbridge Street
Tall, steep, large or fragile roofs cannot always be inspected up close. Our drone roof survey gets a camera close to them without anyone climbing. You see slates, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters in detail. The photos go into a written report. It also suits roofs that would be damaged by someone walking on them. If we can’t fly, we tell you why. Common reasons to book are moss building up on slopes and in gutters and ridge and hip pieces working loose, on fragile roofs, flat roofs on upper floors and tall and steep roofs.
Villages like Northbridge Street often stand in open country, where wind can be strong. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
The report does not just list problems. It explains what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, so you can decide what to do next.

Rented homes, blocks and businesses
We survey roofs for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners. A written report with photographs gives you a clear record of the roof.
With a portfolio of properties, surveys can be booked for more than one address. To arrange surveys for several addresses, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form.
How we price drone roof surveys
When we price a survey, we consider:
- Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
- Building height and the viewpoints available
- How many separate roofs there are, like extensions, dormers and garages
- The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
We offer three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you need to know.
Booking your survey
We will normally ask about:
- Anything about access we should know
- The kind of building and roof involved
- Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
If you’re buying, it’s useful to book soon after your offer is accepted, so you have the findings in time to act on them before you exchange. Otherwise, simply ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form whenever suits you.
Your questions about drone roof surveys in Northbridge Street
Is Northbridge Street within the area you cover?
Yes, we do. We cover the whole of London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Are there drone restrictions around Northbridge Street?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Do you need to get into the loft?
Normally, if there’s one and it can be reached safely. The loft space can show things the outside can’t, such as damp timbers, staining or daylight.
What if it rains on the day?
Some surveys depend on the weather more than others. Drones cannot fly safely in high wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best after a sunny day, with a dry roof and little wind. If the conditions aren’t right, we’ll talk to you about another date.
Is it a structural engineer’s report?
No. We are roof surveyors, not structural engineers, and it doesn’t include calculations. We’ll recommend an engineer if we see signs that call for one.
Is it the same as a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey?
No. This is a survey of the roof only, and it is not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey. It can sit alongside a RICS survey if you want both.
Do you carry out surveys on Saturdays and Sundays?
We survey seven days a week: weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Just let us know the days that suit you.

Do you need a drone roof survey in Northbridge Street?
The top of a stack is the most exposed part of many roofs. From ground level, you rarely see cracked flaunching or loose pots. A drone gets close enough to see them in detail.
Typical things we’re asked to look at include:
- Chimney tops in poor condition
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Vegetation in valleys and gutters
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
The streets around a church such as The Parish Church of St Mary are often among the oldest in a place, and if your home is one of the older ones nearby, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.

How the survey works
We don’t take risks to get a closer look. Everything that can be seen safely is inspected, and if part of the roof can’t be seen, the report says so. The survey usually takes about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. In a small place like Northbridge Street, access is typically the main thing to plan. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
- Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
- Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photos of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
Getting ready for the survey
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with the freeholder or managing agent
- Keep pets in another room
- If you’re buying, check with the agent that we can get in

What we can’t see
Without opening up the roof, some things stay hidden, so a survey has limits:
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
- A structural engineer’s report
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
If you are not sure which survey you need, ring 07833 053749 or email us and we will give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and doesn’t.
