FAQs for Pennington
Will you come out to Pennington?
Yes, Pennington is on our map. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one, with the route planned beforehand.
Are there drone restrictions around Pennington?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. Strong wind or a downpour also stops a small drone flying.
Will I get photos?
Yes, plenty. Pictures sit next to the findings they show.
Do you climb onto every roof?
Not always. Some roofs are too steep or fragile to walk on safely. Safe viewpoints, the loft and a drone where applicable let us see the rest, and the report records anything we couldn’t see.
Do you carry professional indemnity insurance?
We’re covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, for every survey we carry out.
Do I have to be there for the survey?
That depends on the survey. Inside the building and in the loft, we need someone to let us in, while outside access can be discussed when booking.
What happens after the survey?
We email you the written report with photographs and recommendations. It’s yours to share with a seller, insurer, roofer or managing agent, whichever applies.
Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Pennington
Our price is from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where applicable, is also part of our Premium Survey, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone will not help on your roof, we’ll say so. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. We’re often asked to look into wind damage high on the roof and lifted or split lead flashings, across fragile roofs, large and complex roofs and flat roofs on upper floors.
Around Pennington, a good many roofs are low enough to see partly from the garden or the street. Chimney tops, valleys and rear slopes are where close-up or thermal images help most. Both depend on the weather on the day, as calm, dry conditions suit both. Even so, a close-up image often shows wear on ridges and flashings that a view from the ground misses.
Where we can’t see part of the roof, the report says so. You will know exactly what was inspected and what wasn’t, and what we’d suggest next.

Landlord and commercial surveys in Pennington
Roof problems in a rented home affect tenants as well as the building. A survey helps you spot issues early and plan the work.
Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client, photographs included.
What happens if roof problems are left?
Leaving a high roof unchecked means relying on what you can see from below. A drone replaces that guesswork with clear photos, slope by slope. It’s far easier to plan work when you can see the problem. Homes in smaller places like Pennington can face more weather, so a loose ridge or verge soon lets rain in. Wind gets under it and lifts more, and water follows.
Every price we give includes VAT. Our price is from £400, including VAT. We confirm the price for the job before booking.

Before and after the survey
From years of surveys, a few habits stand out as worth the effort:
- Make sure there is room outside for the drone to take off
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
- Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
- Mention anything you’ve noticed on the roof
Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It shows whether anything has moved or worn since the first visit.
Have high or hard-to-reach roofs surveyed every few years. Comparing surveys shows what is wearing, so small faults are dealt with early.
Airspace, weather and Pennington roofs
Pennington is within about 1 mile of the coast, and wind near the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour. Some Hampshire villages still have thatched roofs. Older houses in the South East frequently have slate or clay tile roofs, while many later estates have concrete tiles. Where a roof is steep, tall or hard to see from the ground, drone photos and thermal images add detail.
If you live in an older home near Church of St Mark, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image. If you run a hotel or guest house in or near Pennington, a roof problem can mean rooms out of use, so it pays to find faults before guests do.

Prices for drone roof surveys in Pennington
Not every roof costs the same to survey, for these reasons:
- Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages
- If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone
- The height of the building and how the roof can be seen safely
- Basic, Standard or Premium
The cost of a survey depends on the roof: how big it is, how high it is, the number of separate roofs and how safely it can be seen. Prices start from £400, including VAT.
What to tell us when you get in touch
The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you contact us, tell us:
- Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
- Where water is showing inside, if it is
- The property’s address and postcode
- Anything about access we should know
Getting a price is simple: just ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email, let us know about the property and we will recommend the right survey. We confirm the price before anything is booked.
The survey, step by step
Photos are taken throughout the visit, so you can see in the report what we found and where. Close-ups come from the safest viewpoint available. Most surveys take between one and two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Parking around Pennington is normally easier than in a town centre, but mention lanes, gates or long drives. On bungalows and lower roofs, much can be seen from ground level, with the loft showing the underside.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- We arrange any permission that’s needed before we fly.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The drone captures close-up photos of the coverings, chimneys, valleys and gutters.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- If it is not your property yet, arrange access through the agent
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
- Keep pets inside or away from the areas we are looking at
How to book
Not sure which survey you need? It is easiest to call 07833 053749 or email us and describe the roof and what’s worrying you. We’ll explain the options and the price.

Signs you need a drone roof survey in Pennington
Height and steep pitches make close inspection risky. Tall townhouses, blocks of flats and offices are typical. We fly from the ground and bring the camera close to the roof.
A survey makes sense if you’ve noticed:
- Damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below
- Flashings that have come away
- Tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack
- Blocked valleys and parapet gutters
Anyone responsible for a site like Priestlands School will know that big roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once.
What to check before booking
- Is VAT included in the price?
- What exactly goes into their report
- Whether you can ask questions once you have the report
- Which viewpoints they use to see the roof
