Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Twineham Green
Tall, steep, large or fragile roofs cannot always be inspected up close. Our drone roof survey gets a camera close to them without anyone climbing. You see slates, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters in detail. Everything we find goes into a written report with photos. It is also a good option where walking on the roof could break slates or tiles. If we cannot fly, we tell you why. Typical surveys look at slipped or missing slates on a high roof and moss and weeds taking hold up top, across large and complex roofs, flat roofs on upper floors and fragile roofs.
Older buildings in small places like Twineham Green may be listed or in a conservation area. Neither a drone survey nor a thermal survey involves any work on the roof, so it is a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof. Check with the council before planning any work on a listed building or one in a conservation area.
The written findings come by email, ready to forward to whoever needs them. Turnaround is within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and same day for Premium.

Rented homes, blocks and businesses
Businesses and commercial landlords can book us too. Larger roofs take longer.
Roof problems in a rented home affect tenants as well as the building. A survey helps you spot issues early and plan the work.
Why act early in Twineham Green
From the ground, you’re guessing about most of a tall roof. Close-up photos show what’s really there, slope by slope. Seeing the problem makes it easier to decide what to do. Around Twineham Green, older homes frequently have old roof timbers, and water through a failed covering can rot timber if it’s left.
Bigger, taller and commercial roofs take more time to survey, so the price reflects that. The price is confirmed before you book.

Useful tips for Twineham Green property owners
Most of what helps is simple and safe from ground level. A few suggestions:
- Allow time for permission if you’re in a flight restriction zone
- Keep pets indoors during the flight
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
- Be ready to move the date if the weather turns
Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year, and whether work has done its job.
Check the loft now and then, with care and a good torch. A drone sees the outside, but the loft shows leaks and condensation from below. Take photos of any changes.
Common roof problems in Twineham Green
The top of a stack is the most exposed part of many roofs. From the ground, you rarely see cracked flaunching or loose pots. Close-up drone photos show their condition.
Things that frequently lead to a survey include:
- Chimney tops in poor condition
- Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
- Blocked valleys and parapet gutters
- Slates or tiles shifted by high winds
Take an older house close to The Parish Church of St Peter: tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.
Questions to ask before booking
- Their track record with similar roofs
- How they’ll see the roof: from the ground, the loft, the roof or by drone
- How long the report takes to arrive
- What the survey won’t cover
How the survey works
You do not need to do much on the day. Point out anything you’ve noticed, such as stains, drips or loose pieces, and we’ll get on with the inspection. A typical survey takes about 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Older roofs in small places like Twineham Green can have low, tight loft spaces, so it helps to know whether there’s a loft hatch and how easy it is to reach. We only go where it’s safe.
- We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
- A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
- Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
- We also look inside the roof space where it’s safe.
- You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.
Getting ready for the survey
- Let us know about parking near the property
- If you’re buying, check with the agent that we can get in
- Show us where any leaks or stains appear

Twineham Green questions
Do you cover smaller places like Twineham Green?
We do. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one, with the route planned beforehand.
Is drone flying allowed in Twineham Green?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. High wind or heavy rain also stops a small drone flying.
How long have you been surveying roofs?
Over 5,000 surveys so far, across 20+ years of surveying roofs, with 98% customer satisfaction.
How soon will I get the report?
Basic reports arrive within 48 hours, Standard reports in 24–48 hours and Premium reports on the same day. All of them come by email, ready to forward.
Is it a structural engineer’s report?
No. We note visible signs like sagging or deflection, but we are not structural engineers and do not carry out calculations. If we think you need an engineer, the report says so.
What if it rains on the day?
Light rain doesn’t normally stop a survey. Heavy rain or strong wind can ground a drone and make the roof unsafe, so we will agree a new date if the weather isn’t suitable.
Is this a RICS survey?
No. Our survey looks at the roof, not the whole building. For the rest of the building, a RICS home survey is a separate job.
