Surveys for landlords and agents in College Park
If you own several properties, surveys can be booked for more than one address. To discuss a number of properties, phone 07833 053749 or email us with the addresses.
An agent can book and manage the survey for a landlord, and the report can go to both. Access is agreed with the tenant beforehand.
Thermal roof surveys for homes and businesses in College Park
A thermal survey can point to places where heat is escaping through the roof. Gaps in loft insulation and poorly insulated areas can stand out on the images. The difference shows most clearly when it’s warm inside and cold outside. Our report points out what the images suggest and where to look more closely. We do not give energy ratings or heat loss calculations. If you are worried about missing or slipped insulation and wet areas near outlets and upstands, we can find out what’s behind it, whatever the roof.
London airspace is busy and tightly controlled: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Before a drone goes up in College Park, the address is checked against all of them, and permission is never taken for granted.
It isn’t only a list of defects. For each finding, it explains what it is, why it matters and what we’d recommend.

What we look for on each type of roof
Single-ply and EPDM roofs
On big single-ply roofs, the camera helps show where to take readings. That makes the survey more focused.
Parapets, valleys and junctions
Water frequently gets in where roofs meet walls, parapets or valley gutters. Thermal imaging can help show damp patterns around them.
What you can safely check yourself
After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Photograph them and note the date, as it helps a surveyor trace the cause.
Inside, the loft is a good place to look, with care. Use a torch and stay on the joists or boards, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.

College Park questions
Are there drone restrictions around College Park?
The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. London’s airspace includes flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City Airport and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every London address is checked against them before a flight. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and the rest of the survey doesn’t depend on the drone.
How do I find out if my home in College Park is listed?
Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. It is worth checking before planning roof work, as both can affect what’s allowed.
Will you walk on the roof?
Only if it’s safe. We inspect everything that’s safely in view: from ground level, from windows and vantage points, from the loft space, from the roof itself where safe and by drone where applicable. Anything we can’t see is noted in the report.
Do you work in College Park?
Yes, we do. We carry out thermal roof surveys in College Park, and the service is the same as everywhere else we work.
Do I have to be there for the survey?
Someone needs to let us in if we’re looking inside or in the loft. Access is agreed with you when you book.
Is thermal imaging included in your surveys?
Our Premium Survey, from £400, includes thermal imaging. You also get an in-person consultation and a 12-month follow-up. Larger commercial roofs are quoted for their size.
Do you survey on Saturdays and Sundays?
Visits run seven days a week in the daytime. Just say which days work for you.

Booking your survey
A few details help us point you to the right survey and price. When you contact us, let us know:
- Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
- What kind of property and roof it is
- Whether there’s a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
- Any photos you have, taken from the ground or a window
Photos help, if you have them. Take them safely from the ground or a window. To get started, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email.
The survey, step by step
We photograph the roof as we go, so you can see in the report what we found and where. Close-ups come from the safest viewpoint available. Most surveys take about 1–2 hours at most homes, and about three to four hours for a commercial roof. In converted houses and mansion blocks, the loft hatch is often on a shared landing. If that applies to your building, it’s useful to agree access with the neighbours or the managing agent first. Otherwise, the visit in College Park runs like any other.
- We talk through the roof, any damp or leaks, and the weather expected on the day.
- We carry out a visual inspection of the roof from wherever it can be seen safely.
- Thermal images are taken to show differences in surface temperature.
- Areas that look unusual on the camera are checked with moisture readings where possible.
- The report sets out the images, what they suggest and what we recommend.
Preparing for the visit
- Have any questions written down, so nothing gets missed
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
- Leave a clear route to the loft

Advice
Thermal roof surveys in College Park: local notes
There are several hotels within about a mile and a half of College Park, and hotels, like offices and blocks of flats, frequently have flat roofs. For hotels and other commercial buildings, large roofs are where aerial photos and thermal images show the most at once. Inner London’s Victorian and Edwardian terraces often have Welsh slate roofs. A butterfly roof with a central valley gutter, tucked behind a parapet wall, is common on these houses. Shared chimney stacks, party-wall upstands and lead work come with this kind of house. Many roofs like these can’t be judged properly from the pavement, and that’s where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place.
As a London address, College Park can be tricky for parking: let us know about permits, visitor bays or off-street space when booking. If you look after a building like Kenmont Primary School, a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit. Leighton House lies about 2.6 miles south-east, so building around College Park goes back a long way. A drone or thermal survey doesn’t involve any work on the roof, which suits older buildings.
College Park is about 1 mile south-east of Harlesden, in Greater London. From houses to flats and shops in College Park, the roof can be surveyed. Across Greater London, we cover College Park and the places around it. For surveys nearby, see our London page.
