Drone roof survey in Bossingham

Before any flight, we check the airspace. Near protected airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, flight restriction zones mean permission is needed first. Parts of central London have restricted areas too, where NATS permission is needed. If we cannot fly, we use other safe vantage points instead and explain why. Prison sites also have drone restriction zones. We survey chimney stacks, large and complex roofs and flat roofs on upper floors, and people most often book us about tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack and gaps where slates or tiles have gone.

Older buildings in small places like Bossingham may be listed or in a conservation area. A look from the air or with a thermal camera does not touch the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.

With the Standard Survey, you also get moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

Landlord and commercial surveys in Bossingham

If the property is let, the agent or a tenant can let us in. Surveys run on any day of the week, which helps when tenants work during the week.

Letting agents frequently book on a landlord’s behalf, and the report can go to both. We agree a time with the tenant beforehand.

When you need someone else

To be straight with you, a roof survey has limits:

  • Close-up photos of next door’s property
  • What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
  • Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)

If in doubt, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll point you to the right survey before you book. What our survey covers.

What this survey covers

  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Fragile roofs

Drone roof surveys in Bossingham: local notes

About 4.9 miles south-east lies Acrise Place, a reminder of how long the area around Bossingham has been built on. On older houses around here, roofs often carry the marks of earlier repairs, from replaced slates to new lead, and any change of roofing material on a listed home needs checking with the council first. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons.

For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Mary, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from ground level, and that is where a view from above or with a thermal imager helps.

Bossingham is about 6 miles south of Canterbury, in Kent. Bossingham gets the same service as everywhere else we work: a careful inspection, photos and a written report. Bossingham is one of the places in Kent where we work for drone roof surveys. There’s also a page for Canterbury.

We work across CT4 for drone roof surveys. We offer drone roof surveys to properties on The Street, Bossingham Street and Manns Hill. Nearby, we also carry out drone roof surveys in Stelling Minnis (1 mile south-west), Waltham (2 miles west), Rhodes Minnis (4 miles south), Stowting Common (4 miles south-west) and Ottinge (4 miles south). Further out, we also cover Ashford (10 miles south-west), Canterbury (6 miles north), Dover (10 miles south-east), Folkestone (9 miles south-east), Whitstable (11 miles north) and Deal (14 miles east).

When to book a survey in Bossingham

The top of a stack is the most exposed part of many roofs. Cracked flaunching, loose pots and eroded pointing are often invisible from below. A drone gets close enough to see them in detail.

Problems we come across often include:

  • Debris building up in hidden gutters
  • Tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack
  • Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
  • Damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below

If you look after a building such as Stelling Minnis Church of England Primary School, big roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once.

Before you book any roof surveyor

  • What insurance they carry
  • What the survey will not cover
  • Will they check the loft as well as the outside?

FAQs for Bossingham

Do you cover smaller places like Bossingham?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our area covers London and South East England. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when booking.

Can you fly a drone over a roof in Bossingham?

That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

How experienced are you?

We’ve been surveying roofs for over 20 years and have carried out more than 5,000 surveys across London and South East England.

Are you insured?

Our cover is professional indemnity plus public liability.

Does the report include photos?

Yes. The report includes photographs of what we found, so you can see each point for yourself.

How much is a survey?

Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay for your roof depends on its size, height, access and the package.

I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?

Yes. Shared roofs just need a little more planning. Tell us about it when you book and we’ll explain what’s needed.

How the survey works

The visit has one job: to look at the roof as closely as is safe and record what we find. Notes and photos go into the written report. It usually takes about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Somewhere like Bossingham needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. On the day, we inspect whatever is safely visible, inside and out.

  1. First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
  2. If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
  3. Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
  4. The sub-250g drone takes close-up photos of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
  5. Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.

Getting ready for the survey

  • Leave a clear route to the loft
  • If you are buying, check with the agent that we can get in
  • If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building

Prices for drone roof surveys in Bossingham

The price reflects the time and kit the roof needs. The main factors are:

  • How many separate roofs there are, like extensions, dormers and garages
  • Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
  • The height of the building and how the roof can be seen safely
  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium

The Premium Survey includes thermal imaging and drone inspection where it applies, from £400 with VAT included. We will tell you which package suits the questions you have.

What we need to know

Getting the details right at the start saves time. It’s useful to include:

  • Pictures from the garden or a window, if you have them
  • Where water is showing inside, if it is
  • The address and postcode of the property
  • Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work

Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the roof’s size, access and the package, so phone 07833 053749 or send us an email with the details.

DIY checks: what’s safe

Look up at the roof after a storm, from the ground: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Do not go up yourself.

Inside, the loft is a good place to look, with care. Use a torch and stay on the joists or boards, checking for stains, damp wood or chinks of daylight.
