Drone roof survey in Burgh Heath: what you get

Drone roof surveys are available in Burgh Heath and throughout London and South East England, subject to airspace checks and the weather. Flights take place on weekdays and at weekends. We check the airspace for your address before booking a flight. The report includes the drone photos and our recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form. We’re often asked to look into chimney tops in poor condition and loose ridge and hip tiles, across valleys and parapet gutters, fragile roofs and tall and steep roofs.

Somewhere as small as Burgh Heath, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. A drone and a thermal camera each give a view you cannot get from the ground. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first, and the journey is planned beforehand. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.

We write the report in plain English, so you don’t need to be a roofer to follow it. Each point is backed by a photo where possible.

Flying and imaging in Burgh Heath

The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight. Handmade clay tiles and tile-hung walls are typical of Surrey’s older houses. Some old buildings in Surrey and Sussex have Horsham stone slab roofs. Where a roof is steep, tall or hard to see from ground level, drone photos and thermal images add detail.

Anyone responsible for a site like Aberdour School will know that thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof. For an older house near a landmark such as St Mary's, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. If you run a business near The Ashley Centre, big, flat commercial roofs are where aerial photos and thermal images help most.

Landlord and commercial surveys in Burgh Heath

Leave it or get it looked at?

From the ground, you’re guessing about most of a tall roof. Close-up photos show what’s really there, slope by slope. Seeing the problem makes it easier to decide what to do. Matching old materials, such as handmade tiles or stone slates, can take time to source. Spotting a problem early leaves room to find them.

To find out what your survey will cost, ring 07833 053749 or email us and tell us about the roof. The price is agreed before a date is set.

Why us?

  • Packages from £150, including VAT
  • Surveys on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays
  • Drones and thermal imaging where it applies
  • An independent look at the roof

Different roofs, different checks

Valleys and parapet gutters

Blocked outlets in hidden gutters cause many leaks. We check outlets and photograph any build-up.

Steep slate and tile slopes

Old slates and clay tiles can crack underfoot. The drone sees them without touching them, so the survey doesn’t add damage.

How it works

Photos are taken throughout the visit, so the report shows exactly what we saw. We take close-ups from wherever is safe, including by drone where it’s applicable and the weather allows. A typical visit takes an hour or two for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Rural addresses near Burgh Heath can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions are welcome. The visit itself is the same as anywhere else.

  1. You give us the address and let us know about the roof.
  2. Any flight restriction at the address is checked, with permission requested if required.
  3. Before take-off, the wind, the weather and the launch spot are looked at.
  4. Close-up photos are taken of each slope, chimney, valley and gutter, with the drone always in view.
  5. The findings, photos and recommendations reach you by email.

Before the survey

Your questions about drone roof surveys in Burgh Heath

Will you come out to Burgh Heath?

Yes, we do. We cover the whole of London and South East England, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.

Are there drone restrictions around Burgh Heath?

That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.

What happens after the survey?

You will get the report by email, with photos and clear recommendations. The Standard Survey includes a follow-up consultation, and the Premium Survey an in-person consultation, so you can talk the findings through.

Will you check the loft?

Yes, where the survey calls for it and there’s safe access. We look for staining, damp, daylight and signs of movement, as far as the space allows.

How soon will I get the report?

The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. All of them come by email, ready to forward.

Does this replace a RICS home survey?

No. We’re experienced roof surveyors, and our survey covers the roof rather than the whole building. For the rest of the building, a RICS home survey is a separate job.

Does the weather affect the survey?

A survey can typically go ahead in light rain. Heavy rain or strong wind can ground a drone and make the roof unsafe, so if conditions are not right we’ll arrange another day with you.

How we price drone roof surveys

All our prices include VAT. The things that change the price are:

  • Basic, Standard or Premium
  • The size of the roof
  • The use of thermal imaging or a drone
  • Building height and the viewpoints available

What a survey costs comes down to the roof itself: how big it is, how high it is, the number of separate roofs and how it can be reached and seen safely. Our price is from £400, including VAT.

Getting in touch

A few details help us point you to the right survey and price. When you contact us, tell us:

  • Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
  • Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
  • Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
  • What kind of property and roof it is

For a price for drone roof surveys in Burgh Heath, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email. The address, the type of property and what you’d like to know help us price the survey accurately.

When you need someone else

A survey is a proper look at the roof, but it can’t do everything. The main limits are:

  • Flights in high wind or heavy rain
  • The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
  • Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)

If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll point you to the right survey. What our survey covers.
