Drone roof survey in Daniel's Water
Prices start from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where it applies, is also part of our Premium Survey, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone won’t help on your roof, we will say so. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. If you’re worried about vegetation in valleys and gutters and blocked valleys and parapet gutters, we can find out what’s behind it, on flat roofs on upper floors, tall and steep roofs and fragile roofs alike.
Somewhere as small as Daniel's Water, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. A drone and a thermal camera each give a view you cannot get from ground level. Weather and airspace are looked at before the visit. Steep slopes and tall chimney stacks are where a close-up view adds the most.
Nothing in the report is left vague: if work is needed, the report says so clearly.

The survey, step by step
Where it’s relevant and can be reached safely, the loft space is checked as well as the outside. In the loft, the signs we look for are staining, damp, daylight and sagging, as far as the space allows. All in, the survey usually takes about 1–2 hours at most homes, or half a day or so for a commercial building. Rural addresses near Daniel's Water can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions, or a note of a nearby landmark, help us arrive on time. The visit itself is the same as anywhere else.
- First, we check whether a drone is the right tool.
- We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
- We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we are surveying.
- We also look inside the roof space where it’s safe.
- The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.

Advice
For landlords and managing agents
Where a roof is shared: access has to be agreed with whoever owns or manages the building. Tell us about it when you book and we’ll plan the survey around it.
If you own several properties, surveys can be booked for more than one address. To arrange surveys for several addresses, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the addresses.
Checking the roof from ground level
Inside, the loft is a good place to look, with care. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.
Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Overflowing water can point to a blockage or a sagging run.
Roof by roof
Flat roofs on tall buildings
Flat roofs on tall buildings are often seen by nobody. A drone shows ponding, splits, blisters and worn upstands.
Valleys and parapet gutters
When a parapet outlet blocks, water can come inside. Outlets and any debris around them are photographed.
How we price drone roof surveys
Not every roof costs the same to survey, for these reasons:
- Which survey package you book
- Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
- The roof’s overall size
- The number of roofs, including extensions and garages
Simple, low roofs take less time to survey than tall or complicated ones, and the package matters as well. We will give you the figure before anything is booked.
Helping us price your survey
You don’t need to know any roofing terms. Just let us know:
- The type of building and roof, like pitched or flat
- Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
- Any deadline, like an exchange date
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
If you have photos of the roof, send them over. Take them safely from the ground or a window. To send them or to book, call 07833 053749 or send us an email.
What we cannot see
Some things cannot be seen without opening up the roof, so a survey has limits:
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
- A structural engineer’s report
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will tell you before booking. What our survey covers.

Common questions in Daniel's Water
Are there drone restrictions around Daniel's Water?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Do you cover smaller places like Daniel's Water?
We do. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one.
How much does a drone roof survey cost in Daniel's Water?
Prices start from £400, including VAT. You’ll know the price for the job before booking, and it depends on the roof’s size, access and the package you choose. For a price, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
Will I get photos?
Yes, every report has them. Pictures sit next to the findings they show, which makes the report easy to follow.
Are you structural engineers?
No. We note visible signs such as sagging or deflection, but we are not structural engineers and do not carry out calculations. If we think you need an engineer, the report says so.
What insurance do you have?
Our surveys are covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Ask if you need details for a managing agent or building owner.
How long have you been surveying roofs?
We’ve been surveying roofs for over 20 years and have completed over 5,000 surveys across London and South East England.
What a drone roof survey looks like in Daniel's Water
Historic houses like Godinton House, about 2 miles north-east, show how far back building in the area around Daniel's Water goes. If you own one of the older houses, expect a mix of original materials and later repairs on the roof, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material. Many older homes in Kent have handmade clay tiles, including Kent peg tiles held by pegs through two holes, and tile-hanging on their upper walls. You will also find oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses among the county’s older buildings. Where a roof is steep, tall or hard to see from the ground, drone photos and thermal images add detail.
Shop and office owners around County Square may find that large commercial roofs are often easiest to see by drone or thermal camera.
