About our drone roof survey in Harefield
Drone roof surveys are available in Harefield and throughout London and the South East, where the airspace and the weather allow. We fly on weekdays and at weekends. We check the airspace for your address before booking a flight. The report includes the drone photos and our recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, ring 07833 053749 or email us. Typical surveys look at tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack and slates or tiles shifted by high winds, across fragile roofs, chimney stacks and valleys and parapet gutters.
Places like Harefield can be near small airfields or other airspace restrictions, so the Drone Safety Map is checked before any flight. Exposed sites can be windy, and a small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind, while thermal imaging also works best with little wind. Each flight is planned with neighbours’ privacy in mind, as well as the airspace and the wind.
The report records the roof as we found it on the day. That makes it useful now and a handy reference later, for example when you want to check whether anything has changed.

What affects the cost of drone roof surveys
Prices always include VAT. The things that change the price are:
- The number of roofs, including extensions and garages
- The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- The shape of the roof and its details
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the size and height of the roof, how it can be seen safely and the package you choose.
What we need to know
These details help when you contact us:
- Dates you are working to, such as exchange
- Anything about access we should know
- What made you get in touch
- The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat
Not sure which survey you need? The easiest way is to call 07833 053749 or drop us an email and describe the roof and what’s worrying you. We will explain the options and the price.
Why get it checked now?
Leaving a high roof unchecked means relying on what you can see from below. A drone replaces that guesswork with clear photographs, slope by slope. It’s far easier to plan work when you can see the problem. Homes in smaller places like Harefield can face more weather, so a loose ridge or verge soon lets rain in. Each storm lifts it a little further, and water follows.
Price depends partly on the package: from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, with VAT included. Size, height and access can affect the price too.

Questions from Harefield
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Harefield?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Harefield is about 2 miles from Denham Aerodrome, so the Drone Safety Map is checked for restrictions around it before we fly. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Harefield?
Check Historic England’s online list first, then ask the council about conservation areas and any Article 4 direction. The answer matters most when a change of material is on the cards.
Does the report include photographs?
Yes. Photographs are part of every report.
What’s in the survey report?
You get our findings in writing, part by part, with photos, and ends with what we recommend. Points are put in order of urgency where relevant.
Do you climb onto every roof?
Only where it’s safe to do so. We look at everything that can be seen safely: from the ground, from windows and vantage points, from the loft space, from the roof itself where safe and by drone where it applies. The report says if anything couldn’t be seen.
Is it a structural engineer’s report?
No. We note visible signs such as sagging or deflection, but we’re not structural engineers and do not carry out calculations. Where an engineer is needed, we say so in the report.
How soon will I get the report?
The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. All of them come by email.
What we do, step by step
Where it’s relevant and can be reached safely, the roof space is checked as well as the outside. Inside, we look for staining, damp, gaps and signs of movement, as far as the space allows. All in, the survey usually takes about 1–2 hours at most homes, and more on a big or complicated roof. Some parts of a survey depend on the weather, so a visit to Harefield is booked with the forecast in mind: drone flights and thermal imaging need the right conditions, while a look from the ground and the loft can go ahead in most weather.
- We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
- We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
- We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we are surveying.
- We also look inside the loft space where it is safe.
- The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.
Before the survey
- If you are buying, let the agent know when we’re coming
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with whoever owns or manages the building
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at

Buyers should book once an offer has been accepted, so you have the findings in time to act on them before you exchange. For any other survey, just call 07833 053749 or use the contact form when you’re ready.
Related advice
Do you need a drone roof survey in Harefield?
Chimney tops take the worst of the weather. From the ground, you rarely see cracked flaunching or loose pots. Close-up drone photos show their condition.
These are some of the problems a survey can pick up:
- Blistered or cracked flat roof coverings
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
- Chimney tops in poor condition
- Debris building up in hidden gutters
If yours is one of the older homes in the streets near Harefield Baptist Church, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.
Before you book anyone
- What the survey won’t cover
- Is there a chance to talk the report through?
- Whether they hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- What the report includes, and whether it has photos
Should I look at the roof myself first?
Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Water spilling over the edge can point to a blockage or a sagging run.
Your own check is a good start, but it isn’t a survey. From the ground, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are often out of sight.
