Roof surveys in Buckinghamshire

About roof surveys in Buckinghamshire

The report is written for you, in plain language. Each defect is described with photographs and a recommendation, and we rank them by urgency where that helps. The Standard Survey adds moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. Premium adds thermal imaging, a drone inspection where it applies and a same-day report. Each report is emailed to you. We survey clay and concrete tiles, lead flashings and ridges, hips and valleys, and people most often book us about slates or tiles that have slipped or broken and flashings that have come away from the wall.

We don’t take risks to get a closer look. We inspect whatever is safely visible, and anything we can’t see is noted in the report. The survey normally takes about one to two hours for most homes, depending on how many separate roofs there are.

  1. We start with the property details and any concerns.
  2. We agree a date, including weekends if that suits you.
  3. We check the roof from every safe viewpoint outside.
  4. Inside, we check the roof space where there’s safe access.
  5. You receive the report with photos and recommendations, prioritised by urgency.

Near you in Aylesbury

We work in homes and buildings around Buckinghamshire UTC, Stocklake Park Community School and The Derby Arms Public House and the streets around them. You’ll also find Bearbrook Combined School (0.5 miles west) and Church of St Mary (less than half a mile north). Aylesbury has its own railway station: Aylesbury station. Well-known places in the area include Roald Dahl Children's Gallery (within half a mile east) and Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (within half a mile north). The countryside around Aylesbury includes Coombe Hill.

Homes and roofs across Buckinghamshire

Across Buckinghamshire, we survey roofs for owners, landlords and agents, from Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Chesham to the quieter places in between. Every report comes with photos and written recommendations.

We survey roofs across London and South East England, and Buckinghamshire is part of that. Housing here runs from Victorian and Edwardian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates.

Aylesbury: For businesses in and around places such as Friars Square, knowing the roof’s condition lets you budget for work rather than pay for emergencies. If you let a flat or house near Aylesbury station, a roof report helps you deal with small faults before they turn into a call from a tenant.

Prices for roof surveys in Buckinghamshire

Survey packages start from £150, including VAT. The price for your roof depends on:

  • Basic, Standard or Premium
  • Building height and the viewpoints available
  • How big the roof is
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings

Prices quoted always include VAT, and the written report is part of the package. Our price is from £150, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.

Helping us price your survey

These details help when you get in touch:

  • The property’s address and postcode
  • Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
  • Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
  • Anything about access we should know

A quick phone call is normally the easiest start: phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll ask a few questions about the roof. The price is agreed before a date is set.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.

What you can’t do safely is get up close. Roofs are fragile and slippery, and a fall can be serious. That is where a survey comes in.

What we are asked to look at in Buckinghamshire

Some damage starts inside the roof space. A badly ventilated loft collects condensation, and the damp gets into timbers and insulation. It is often mistaken for a leak, and it needs a different fix.

We’re frequently asked to look at:

  • Water stains on rafters and ceiling joists
  • Leaking gutter joints and downpipes
  • Ponding, splits or blisters on flat roofs
  • Gaps in the roof where coverings have gone

Roof by roof

Lead flashings and valleys

Flashings close the joints where a roof meets a wall or chimney. Lifted, split or slipped lead is recorded, and for flashings replaced with mortar or bitumen.

Chimney stacks

Damp on a chimney breast inside often starts with the stack outside. We check the flashings and mortar for the cause.

Rented homes, blocks and businesses

If you own several properties, you can book surveys for several addresses. To arrange surveys for several addresses, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the addresses.

Letting agents and landlords in Buckinghamshire book surveys as well as homeowners. The report gives you a dated record of the roof, with photographs.

Common questions in Buckinghamshire

How long does the visit take?

It normally takes an hour or two for most houses, though large, tall or awkward roofs take more time. Report times depend on the package.

Will you fly a drone over my roof?

Where it’s applicable and safe, yes. We fly a sub-250g drone and we’re a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). Drone inspection is part of the Drone Roof Survey and the Premium Survey, where it applies.

How experienced are you?

More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years, across London and South East England.

Do I have to be there for the survey?

Not necessarily. An outside-only look can be arranged beforehand, but the loft and any rooms with damp need someone to let us in.

What insurance do you have?

Our cover is professional indemnity plus public liability.

What’s the best way to book?

To arrange a survey, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address, the type of property and what’s prompted the survey. We will confirm the price and find a day that suits.

What’s covered in a roof inspection?

All the main parts of the roof: the slates or tiles, ridges, valleys, flashings, chimneys, gutters and roof space. Higher packages add moisture detection, structural checks, thermal imaging and a drone where applicable.
