Prices for drone roof surveys in Iping
A few things affect what a survey costs:
- Which survey package you book
- Roof area
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
Simple, low roofs take less time to survey than tall or complicated ones, and the package matters as well. We will give you the figure before anything is booked.
Getting in touch
We will normally ask about:
- Where the property is, with the postcode
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from ground level or a window
- What’s prompted the survey
Once you know what you need, call 07833 053749 or email us. We’ll suggest a package, agree the price and find a date, weekday or weekend.
Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Iping
From the air, the outer surfaces are clear, but it can’t see inside. We check the loft from inside where it’s safe, because the underside tells its own story. Together, the two give a fuller picture. Your report shows the drone photos alongside what we saw in the loft. If there’s no safe loft access, the report says so. We survey valleys and parapet gutters, flat roofs on upper floors and chimney stacks, and common reasons people get in touch are worn lead at chimneys and walls and ponding and splits on a high flat roof.
Older buildings in small places like Iping may be listed or in a conservation area. Neither a drone survey nor a thermal survey involves any work on the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.
How fast the report arrives depends on the package: the Basic Survey within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey on the same day.

When to book a survey in Iping
Steep and tall roofs are hard to inspect safely. Three-storey houses, blocks of flats and tall commercial buildings are common examples. We fly from ground level and bring the camera close to the roof.
Things that often lead to a survey include:
- Ponding and splits on a high flat roof
- Ridge pieces that have lifted
- Vegetation in valleys and gutters
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
Cowdray House lies about 2.5 miles east, so building around Iping goes back a long way. Close-up aerial shots and thermal images let an old roof be checked without anyone disturbing it.

Drone roof surveys in Iping: local notes
Many older homes in Sussex have handmade clay tiles and tile-hung walls. Horsham stone slab roofs survive on some old Sussex buildings. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up close-up aerial shots and thermal images help. We fly a sub-250g drone and are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). In the open category, flights stay below 120 m (400 ft) and within sight.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Stedham Primary School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof. Take an older house close to Church of St Mary: tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.

What else we do in Iping
Leave it or get it looked at?
A drone record gives you a baseline. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It is useful for planning maintenance over the years. Outbuildings and barns around Iping are easy to forget, but a failed roof there can spoil what’s stored inside. It’s worth including them in a survey before a winter does the damage.
Prices start from £150, including VAT, for a Basic Survey. Standard is from £250 and Premium from £400. You’ll know the price for the job before booking.

Common questions in Iping
Is Iping within the area you cover?
Yes, we do. We work right across London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Is my home in Iping listed or in a conservation area?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it is in a conservation area. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
How long does a drone roof survey take?
It typically takes about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Time for the pre-flight checks is included.
Do you test for asbestos?
No. Asbestos surveys and sampling aren’t something we do. The report may flag materials that could contain asbestos on buildings built or refurbished before 2000.
Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?
Yes. Shared roofs just need a little more planning. Let us know about it when you book and we’ll plan the survey around it.
Do you hold CAA registration for the drone?
Yes. We hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID. Our drone weighs under 250g and keep it in sight at all times.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
Visits run seven days a week in the daytime, which suits people who work during the week. Just say which days work for you.
How it works
We do not take risks to get a closer look. Everything that can safely be seen is inspected, and anything we can’t see is noted in the report. The survey usually takes an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Somewhere like Iping needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. On the day, we inspect what can safely be seen, inside and out.
- You give us the address and let us know about the roof.
- Any flight restriction at the address is looked at, with permission requested if required.
- Before take-off, the wind, the weather and the launch spot are looked at.
- We fly the sub-250g drone close to the roof and photograph each area.
- You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Getting ready for the survey
- Have keys ready for side gates, garages or roof access doors
- Clear the way to the loft hatch
- Keep pets inside or away from the areas we’re looking at

Flat roofs on tall buildings
Outlets, edges and roof plant are common problem areas. We photograph them closely.
Steep slate and tile slopes
On slate roofs, slipped slates frequently point to corroded nails. We can see the extent of it from above.
Before and after the survey
There is plenty you can do without going near the roof. What helps most:
- Tell us about any leaks or concerns
- Allow for a change of day in poor weather
- Clear a spot on the drive or lawn
- Allow time for permission if you’re in a flight restriction zone
We email the report to you, including the close-up photos taken by the drone. Each finding is explained in plain words, and recommendations are ranked by urgency where that helps.
Look at the roof from ground level after strong winds. Debris in the garden is a sign to act on. A drone survey can show what has shifted.
