Drone roof surveys near Nashes Green

Drone roof survey in Nashes Green: what you get

They suit tall buildings, steep or large roofs and roofs that are hard to see from ground level. They also suit fragile roofs that nobody should walk on. You get close-up views without anyone setting foot on the roof. Before the visit, we check the address for any airspace restrictions that apply. If a drone isn’t the right tool, we will say so. We survey large and complex roofs, flat roofs on upper floors and chimney stacks, and common reasons people get in touch are hidden gutters full of leaves and lifted or split lead flashings.

Somewhere as small as Nashes Green, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what cannot be reached safely. Weather and airspace are checked ahead of the visit. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.

Where we cannot see part of the roof, the report says so. That way, it is clear what was covered and what wasn’t.

Why act early in Nashes Green

Leaving a high roof unchecked means relying on what you can see from below. Close-up photos show what’s really there, slope by slope. Seeing the problem makes it easier to decide what to do. Around Nashes Green, older homes frequently have old roof timbers, and water through a failed covering can rot timber if it’s left.

Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where it applies) come with the Premium Survey, from £400 with VAT included. We can help you choose the package that fits what you’d like to know.

Why us?

  • Plain-English reports with photos
  • Satisfaction rate of 98%
  • Clear package prices, including VAT
  • Independent findings on the roof’s condition

What we look for on each type of roof

Chimney stacks

Chimney tops are hard to see from ground level. A drone gets close to the pots, flaunching, pointing and flashings.

Large commercial roofs

Large commercial roofs cover a lot of ground. The drone covers the roof area by area, so nothing is skipped.

Tips from our surveys

Over many surveys, some simple habits stand out as worth the effort:

  • Shut pets inside while we fly
  • Move stored items away from the hatch
  • Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
  • Let us know what you want to see

File the report and photos with your home documents. They give you something to compare against later.

After a storm, check from the garden and the street. Pieces of slate or tile on the ground mean something has moved. A drone survey can show what has shifted.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

You can learn a lot from the ground. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Please do not climb up for a closer look.

After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Photograph them and note the date, which helps when we check the roof.

Honest limits

Every survey has limits, and it is better to know them up front. Keep these in mind:

  • Photos in conditions too poor to fly
  • A flight where airspace permission is refused
  • Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying

If you’re not sure which survey you need, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking. What our survey covers.

Drone roof surveys around Nashes Green

Nashes Green is about 2 miles from Lasham Airfield, so the Drone Safety Map is checked for restrictions around it before we fly. Some Hampshire villages still have thatched roofs. Slate and clay tile are the usual coverings on older South East houses, with concrete tiles on many later estates. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up aerial photos and thermal images help.

If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Church of St. Mary, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. Hall Place, about 3.3 miles south, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Nashes Green. A drone or thermal survey doesn’t involve any work on the roof, which suits older buildings.

Nashes Green questions

Is drone flying allowed in Nashes Green?

It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Lasham Airfield is about 2 miles away, so we check the Drone Safety Map for restrictions before any flight. Strong wind or heavy rain also stops a small drone flying.

Does a conservation area affect roof work in Nashes Green?

Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the local council can tell you about conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.

How do I book a survey in Nashes Green?

Simply ring 07833 053749 or send us an email. After a few questions, we confirm the price and fix a day, weekday or weekend.

Which days do you carry out surveys?

We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day. Let us know your preferred days when you book.

Can you give me structural calculations?

No. We are roof surveyors, not structural engineers. If we see signs that need an engineer’s opinion, we will recommend one.

Do you take photos of the roof?

Yes. We photograph the roof as we go, and they go into the written report alongside our recommendations.

Are you insured?

We’re covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, for every survey we carry out.

How the survey works

Expect us to ask a few questions before we start, about the roof’s history, any leaks and past repairs. The inspection then takes roughly 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Older rural homes like those around Nashes Green can have a main roof, lower lean-to roofs and outbuildings all joined together. We work round each section in turn, from the safest viewpoints.

  1. We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
  2. We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
  3. Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
  4. We also look inside the loft space where it is safe.
  5. Everything is written up, with the aerial photos and our advice.

Getting ready for the survey

  • Leave a clear route to the loft
  • Have any questions written down, so nothing gets missed
  • Show us where any leaks or stains appear
