Newchapel Drone Roof Survey
We take a careful look at the roof at your property in Newchapel, and put it all in a written report with photos.
- Loose ridge and hip tiles
- Eroded pointing on a chimney stack
- Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Newchapel
Neighbours’ privacy matters on every flight. We keep the camera on the roof we’re surveying, not on gardens or windows next door. If your roof is shared, a word with next door beforehand helps. We inspect only what the owner has asked us to. Each flight is kept short and stays focused on the roof we are there to survey. We survey large and complex roofs, chimney stacks and flat roofs on upper floors, and the problems we’re asked to look at most are standing water on a flat roof and storm damage on steep or tall roofs.
Some older homes in villages like Newchapel are listed or in a conservation area. A look from the air or with a thermal camera doesn’t touch the roof, so it’s a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.
The report is written in plain words, so it makes sense without any roofing background. Photos show what each point refers to.

Why it is worth a survey now in Newchapel
A drone record gives you a baseline. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It is useful for planning maintenance over the years. For an older or listed building in a place like Newchapel, repairs may need matching materials and consent, so leaving a defect until it is urgent leaves less time to plan.
Prices start from £400, including VAT. Basic starts from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, VAT included, and we will tell you which fits.

Newchapel: your questions answered
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Newchapel?
Typically it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Newchapel is about 2 miles from the edge of the flight restriction zone around Gatwick Airport. We check the exact boundary for the address before flying, and if the roof falls inside it, we ask for permission first. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Will you come out to Newchapel?
Yes, Newchapel is covered. We cover the whole of London and South East England, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned beforehand.
Can you survey at the weekend?
Surveys run seven days a week. To find a day that suits you, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
How much is a survey?
Our price is from £400, including VAT. Our three packages are Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, including VAT.
Can you survey in bad weather?
A survey can normally go ahead in light rain. High wind or heavy rain can stop drone flights and make roof access unsafe, so if conditions are not right we’ll arrange another day with you.
Do I need to be at home?
If the survey includes the loft or the inside of the building, someone needs to let us in. Access is agreed with you when you book.
How fast do I get the report?
Report times are set by the package. Basic is within 48 hours, Standard is 24–48 hours and Premium is the same day. Mention any deadline as you book.
What a drone roof survey doesn’t cover
It’s useful to know what a survey will not do before you book:
- Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll tell you. What a survey covers and does not.
Roof types and parts we check
- Chimney stacks
- Tall and steep roofs
- Large and complex roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Fragile roofs
Can I check my roof myself?
After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Take a photo and write down when you saw it, which helps when we check the roof.
What you can’t do safely is get up close. Roofs are fragile and slippery, and a fall can be serious. That’s where a survey comes in.
Practical tips
Some practical points come up on survey after survey. They’re worth knowing whatever the roof:
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
- Allow for a change of day in poor weather
- Book early if you’re near an airport
- Keep a clear space in the garden or drive for take-off
There’s a follow-up after 12 months with the Premium Survey. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year, and whether work has done its job.
Keep the loft space ventilated. Poor airflow lets condensation build up, and it is something only an inside check will show. Keep insulation clear of the eaves.
Rented homes, blocks and businesses
A roof problem in a let property affects your tenants as well as the building. A survey helps you spot issues early and plan the work.
An agent can book and manage the survey for a landlord, with the report sent to whoever needs it. We agree a time with the tenant beforehand.

The survey, step by step
The visit normally starts outside and finishes in the loft: outside views come first, then the roof space if there is safe access. All told, expect an hour or two for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Older roofs in small places like Newchapel can have low, tight loft spaces, so tell us about the loft hatch and any ladder. Only areas that can be reached safely are inspected.
- We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
- We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
- Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
- If the loft can be reached safely, it’s checked too.
- You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.
How to prepare
- Agree roof access with the managing agent if it’s shared
- Dig out any old roof reports or invoices
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
