Drone roof survey in Oare, West Berkshire
Close-up drone photographs of roofs that are hard to reach in Oare, carried out by an experienced roof surveyor. You get a clear written report with photographs.
- Lead work pulling away at abutments
- Blistered or cracked flat roof coverings
- Plant growth and moss on the roof
Do you need a drone roof survey in Oare?
Height and steep pitches make close inspection risky. Three-storey houses, blocks of flats and tall commercial buildings are common examples. A drone gets close-up views from a safe position on the ground.
People typically book a survey after spotting one of these:
- Standing water on a flat roof
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
- Eroded pointing on a chimney stack
- Plant growth and moss on the roof
Anyone responsible for a site like Hermitage Primary School will know that a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit.
Questions to ask before you book
- Do they have a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID for drone work?
- How soon the report will arrive
- Which parts of the roof they’ll actually see
- What exactly goes into their report
Drone roof survey in Oare
Drone roof surveys are available in Oare and throughout London and the South East, subject to airspace checks and the weather. We fly on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. We check the airspace for your address before booking a flight. You get a written report with close-up photographs and recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form. If you’re worried about lifted or split lead flashings and ponding and splits on a high flat roof, we can find out what’s behind it, on tall and steep roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and fragile roofs alike.
In a small place like Oare, open ground can mean strong wind. A small drone cannot fly safely in high wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. If the day turns windy or wet, the visit can be moved.
It is not only a list of defects. For each finding, it explains what it is, why it matters and what we’d recommend, so you can plan your next steps.

How we price drone roof surveys
All our prices include VAT. What changes the price is:
- Whether it is a home or a commercial building
- Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
- Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
- Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
One thing that affects the price is the package: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 or Premium from £400, all inc. VAT. The roof’s size, height and access matter as well.
What we need to know
When you call or email, these details help:
- The address and postcode of the property
- Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
- The kind of building and roof involved
Not sure which survey you need? It is easiest to ring 07833 053749 or send us an email and describe the roof and why you want it surveyed. We will explain the options and the price.
FAQs for Oare
Do you cover smaller places like Oare?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work right across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there as you book.
Are there drone restrictions around Oare?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.
Will I get photos?
Yes, every report has them. Pictures sit next to the findings they show, which makes the report easy to follow.
What happens next?
The report comes by email, and what you do next is up to you: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.
Will you walk on the roof?
Only where it’s safe to do so. We check everything that can be seen safely: from the ground, from windows, from inside the loft space, from the roof where it is safe and by drone where applicable. Anything we cannot see is noted in the report.
How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Oare?
The quickest way is to call 07833 053749 or use the contact form. Give us the address and a few details about the roof. Surveys run on any day of the week.
Do you test for asbestos?
No. Asbestos surveys and sampling aren’t something we do. Where a material might contain it, such as old cement sheets on a building from before 2000, the report flags it, with a recommendation to have a specialist asbestos surveyor check before it’s disturbed.
Drones, thermal imaging and Oare roofs
With Shaw House about 4 miles south-west, Oare sits in an area with a long building history. Period homes nearby can have lead valleys, tall chimneys and a patchwork of past repairs, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions.
If you live in an older home near Church of St Bartholomew, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.

When you need someone else
Before you book, it is worth knowing what a survey won’t do:
- The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
- A flight on a day when the weather isn’t safe
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we’ll point you to the right survey. The full list of what we check.

How the survey works
We work from the outside in: outside views come first, then the roof space if there is safe access. In total, it takes an hour or two for most houses; commercial roofs usually need 3–4 hours. For a village or hamlet like Oare, the journey is planned ahead of time: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. On the day, we inspect everything that’s safely in view, inside and out.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it before the visit.
- Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- We email a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Before we arrive
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
- Show us where any leaks or stains appear
- If you are buying, check with the agent that we can get in

Our price is from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the roof’s size, access and the package, and you can phone 07833 053749 or email us to find out.
Advice
Practical tips
There’s plenty you can do without going near the roof. Here’s what helps most:
- Let neighbours know about the flight if your roof is shared
- Check the loft can be reached
- Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
- Shut pets inside while we fly
Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It shows whether anything has moved or worn since the first visit, and whether work has done its job.
Keep the loft space ventilated. Poor airflow lets condensation build up, and it’s something only an inside check will show. Keep insulation clear of the eaves.
How the survey changes by roof type
Large commercial roofs
Large commercial roofs cover a lot of ground. A drone photographs the whole surface methodically, so nothing is skipped.
Valleys and parapet gutters
Hidden gutters and valleys sit out of sight. A drone shows linings, joints and build-ups of debris.
