How a drone roof survey works in Rowly

We carry out drone roof surveys in Rowly and across London and South East England, where the airspace and the weather allow. Flights take place on weekdays and at weekends. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. You get a written report with close-up photos and recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, call 07833 053749 or email us with the address. We survey large and complex roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and chimney stacks, and common reasons people get in touch are debris building up in hidden gutters and ridge and hip pieces working loose.

Villages like Rowly frequently stand in open country, where wind can be strong. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. If the day turns windy or wet, the visit can be moved.

With the Standard Survey, you also get moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

Rowly: your questions answered

Will you come out to Rowly?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We survey roofs across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Is drone flying allowed in Rowly?

That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

Will you walk on the roof?

Only if it’s safe. We inspect whatever is safely visible: from the ground, from windows and vantage points, from the roof space, from the roof itself where safe and by drone where applicable. The report says if anything couldn’t be seen.

Does someone need to be in?

That depends on the survey. Inside the building and in the loft, we need someone to let us in; we will agree the details as you book.

Do you carry professional indemnity insurance?

Every survey is covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

How much does a drone roof survey cost in Rowly?

Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. You’ll know the exact price before booking, and it depends on the roof’s size, access and the package you choose. To get a price, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.

How many surveys have you done?

More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years, across London and South East England.

The survey, step by step

Where it is relevant and can be reached safely, the loft space is checked as well as the outside. Inside, we look for staining, damp, gaps and signs of movement. The whole visit normally takes between one and two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Cottages and farmhouses around Rowly often have roofs at several levels, with lean-tos and outbuildings attached. Each part is looked at from wherever it can be seen safely.

  1. First, we check whether a drone is the right tool.
  2. A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
  3. The roof is photographed from the air, with the camera kept on your property.
  4. If the loft can be reached safely, it is checked too.
  5. You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.

What affects the cost of drone roof surveys

Survey packages start from £150, including VAT. The price for your roof depends on:

  • Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
  • The roof’s overall size
  • If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone
  • How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages

Bigger, taller and commercial roofs take more time to survey, so they’re priced to match. You’ll know the figure before booking.

Flying and imaging in Rowly

Many older homes in Surrey have handmade clay tiles and tile-hung upper walls. A few of Surrey’s oldest buildings have heavy Horsham stone slab roofs. Where a roof is steep, tall or hard to see from the ground, drone photos and thermal images add detail. With Chilworth Manor about 4.3 miles north, Rowly sits in an area with a long building history. Older homes in the wider area frequently have features worth a closer look, like lead valleys, tall stacks and roofs that have been patched over the years.

Take a building like Glebelands School: a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.

Rowly is about 7 miles south-east of Guildford, in Surrey. We carry out drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Rowly and nearby. Our Surrey coverage includes Rowly and the places around it. We also survey roofs in Guildford.

Large commercial roofs

Older cement sheet roofs may contain asbestos. We flag it in the report and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor.

Chimney stacks

Our drone check of a chimney is visual, and it isn’t a flue or gas safety check. We will say if a specialist is needed.

Useful tips for Rowly property owners

Most of what helps is simple and safe from the ground. Our suggestions:

  • Allow for a change of day in poor weather
  • Mention anything you’ve noticed on the roof
  • Shut pets inside while we fly
  • Make sure there is room outside for the drone to take off

You get an in-person consultation with the Premium Survey to talk through the photos and findings. You can ask about anything that is not clear.

Plan a drone survey every few years for tall or large roofs. Comparing surveys shows what is wearing, and early repairs keep water out.

Why act early in Rowly

Planning roof work without seeing the roof is a gamble. Our report shows the condition of each area. That helps you put the work in order. Around Rowly, older homes often have old roof timbers, where water from a failed roof can cause rot if it is left.

To find out what your survey will cost, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email and let us know about the roof. The price is agreed before a date is set.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Don’t go up yourself.

During heavy rain, look at the gutters from ground level or a window. Overflowing water can be a sign of a blockage or a gutter that has dropped.
