Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Camberley
Our price is from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where applicable, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. There’s a 12-month follow-up as well. We’ll tell you if a drone is not the right tool for your roof. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. If you are worried about blistered or cracked flat roof coverings and wind damage high on the roof, we can find out what’s behind it.
In a town like Camberley, the roofs that are hardest to see are frequently on taller buildings, steep slopes or the backs of terraces. Close-up drone photos and thermal images show what binoculars from the pavement can’t. Each needs the right weather, so the date is set with the forecast in mind. A typical example is the rear slope over a back addition, which cannot be seen from the street.
Nothing in the report is left vague: where something needs attention, it says so plainly.

Can I check my roof myself?
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Do not go up yourself.
If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.
For landlords and managing agents
An agent can book and manage the survey for a landlord, with the report sent to whoever needs it. Access is agreed with the tenant beforehand.
Freeholders and residents’ companies use a roof report to plan and budget, with the most urgent items set out first.
Drones, thermal imaging and Camberley roofs
The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight. Handmade clay tiles and tile-hung walls are typical of Surrey’s older houses. A few of Surrey’s oldest buildings have heavy Horsham stone slab roofs. Many roofs like these cannot be judged properly from the pavement, and that’s where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place.
Anyone responsible for a site like Prior Heath Infant School will know that a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit.

Camberley: your questions answered
Is Camberley in the area you cover?
Yes. We cover the whole of London and South East England, and Camberley is part of that. Just phone 07833 053749 or email us and let us know about the property.
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Camberley?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it is in a conservation area. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
Is this an asbestos survey?
No. Our report may flag materials that could contain asbestos, but confirming it is a job for a specialist asbestos surveyor. Buildings built or refurbished before 2000 may contain it.
Do you take photos of the roof?
Yes, plenty. Pictures sit next to the findings they show, so you can see what we mean.
How long will you be at the property?
It normally takes between one and two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Time for the pre-flight checks is included.
Is a drone roof survey a thermal survey?
The drone gives you detailed photos of the outside of the roof. If you need thermal imaging, it is part of the Premium Survey.
Will you photograph next door’s garden?
No, the camera is kept on your roof. Next door’s windows and gardens are kept out of shot as far as possible. A quick word with the neighbours is a good idea.
Common roof problems in Camberley
Parapet gutters, box gutters and central valleys sit out of sight. Debris collects where nobody looks, until water overflows inside. From above, they’re easy to see.
These are some of the problems a survey can pick up:
- Cracked mortar along the ridge
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
If you live in an older home near Church of St Paul, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.
Before booking anyone
- What the survey will not cover
- What experience they bring
- How they plan to inspect the roof safely
- Whether you get a written report with photos
Before and after the survey
There’s plenty you can do without going near the roof. Here’s what helps most:
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
- Expect a little longer if permission is needed
- Give us the full address so we can check the airspace
- Shut pets inside while we fly
With the Premium Survey, the report arrives the same day. It includes the drone photos where a flight was possible, alongside the other checks in the package.
Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, ideally once the leaves have fallen. On tall buildings, use a professional with the right access equipment. Blocked hidden gutters cause many leaks.
What we look for on each type of roof
Steep slate and tile slopes
Old slates and clay tiles can crack underfoot. A drone avoids that.
Large commercial roofs
Older cement sheet roofs may contain asbestos. We don’t test for it, but we flag it and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor.
How it works
We work from the outside in: outside views come first, then the loft space if there is safe access. In total, it takes roughly 1–2 hours on an ordinary house, while a commercial roof takes nearer three to four hours. Semi-detached and terraced homes in a town like Camberley frequently share a roof line with the neighbours, so we look at what can be seen of the shared parts from your side. Tell us about any known leaks, past repairs or building work when you book, so time on site goes where it is needed.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
- Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
- The drone captures close-up photos of the coverings, chimneys, valleys and gutters.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
How to prepare
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- Keep pets inside or away from the areas we’re looking at
- Agree roof access with the managing agent if it is shared
How to book
Photos help, if you have them. Pictures from the ground or a window are fine; never climb up to get a better view. To get started, ring 07833 053749 or email us.
