Independent drone roof surveys in Deepcut

How a drone roof survey works in Deepcut

Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where applicable, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. We will tell you if a drone isn’t the right tool for your roof. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photographs. Typical surveys look at eroded pointing on a chimney stack and plant growth and moss on the roof, across chimney stacks, valleys and parapet gutters and large and complex roofs.

Around Deepcut, older homes can have thin loft insulation and later additions with roofs of their own. Thermal patterns and close-up photos together give a fuller picture of the roof. Findings are checked with moisture readings where needed. Calm, dry weather suits both methods, so the date is set with the forecast in mind.

Nothing in the report is left vague: where something needs attention, it says so plainly.

What we’re asked to look at in Deepcut

Big commercial and industrial roofs cover a lot of ground. The drone covers the surface area by area, showing patterns of wear that are hard to spot up close. You see the whole roof, not just the parts near an access point.

We’re often asked to look at:

  • Ponding and splits on a high flat roof
  • Ridge pieces that have lifted
  • Worn lead at chimneys and walls
  • Slates or tiles shifted by high winds

Anyone responsible for a site like Sandringham Infant & Nursery School will know that a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit.

What to check before booking

  • Whether they hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance
  • What experience they bring
  • Whether the roof space is looked at, where there is one
  • What’s outside the scope of the survey

What’s in a roof survey

What we do, step by step

The visit typically starts outside and finishes in the loft: first the slopes, edges and gutters from every safe viewpoint, then the roof space where it can be reached. All told, expect about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Being in a smaller place like Deepcut does not change how the visit works: we look from the ground, from windows, from the loft and from the roof where it’s safe. Point out any stains, cracks or loose pieces you’ve spotted.

  1. You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
  2. If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
  3. We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
  4. The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
  5. We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the way to the loft hatch
  • Gather any invoices or paperwork from past roof work
  • Make sure pets are kept safely away

What a drone roof survey looks like in Deepcut

We fly a sub-250g drone and are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight. Handmade clay tiles and tile-hung walls are typical of Surrey’s older houses. Some old buildings in Surrey and Sussex have Horsham stone slab roofs. Steep or complicated roofs are often hard to see from ground level, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.

In and around Deepcut, as anywhere, a roof is easiest to deal with when its problems are found early.

Why act early in Deepcut

It’s hard to plan maintenance for a roof nobody has looked at. Our report shows the condition of each area, with recommendations prioritised by urgency where relevant. That helps you put the work in order. Around Deepcut, leaves and moss in gutters lead to overflowing water and damp walls. It is easy to sort the cause early and slow to dry a damp wall.

We offer three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, with VAT included. What your roof costs depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.

Deepcut questions

Are there drone restrictions around Deepcut?

That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

Do you carry out roof surveys in Deepcut?

We do. The survey and report are the same in Deepcut as anywhere else.

How many surveys have you done?

More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years.

Can you survey at the weekend?

Surveys run seven days a week. To find a day that suits you, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form.

Does someone need to be in?

That depends on the survey. For inside areas and the loft space, someone has to give us access.

How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Deepcut?

To arrange a survey, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the address, the type of property and what’s prompted the survey. We will confirm the price and agree a day with you.

What if it rains on the day?

Some surveys depend on the weather more than others. Drone flights need calm, dry weather, and thermal imaging works best after a sunny day, with a dry roof and little wind. If the conditions aren’t right, we’ll talk to you about another date.

What a drone roof survey doesn’t cover

To be straight with you, a roof survey has limits:

  • Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
  • A flight on a day when the weather isn’t safe
  • The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)

If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will point you to the right survey. The full list of what we check.

What this survey covers

  • Large and complex roofs
  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Fragile roofs

Tips from our surveys

A few practical points come up again and again on our surveys. They apply to most roofs:

  • Be ready to move the date if the weather turns
  • Allow time for permission if you’re in a flight restriction zone
  • A word with neighbours beforehand helps
  • Move stored items away from the hatch

Keep the photos with your property records. They give you something to compare against later.

Every so often, look in the loft space with a torch, keeping to boarded areas. A drone sees the outside, but the loft shows leaks and condensation from below. Take photos of any changes.
