Landlord roof surveys for homes and businesses in Turville Heath
We check the same things on a let roof as on any other: coverings, ridges, hips, valleys, flashings, chimneys, gutters and the loft space. Flat roofs over blocks, rear additions and garages are covered too where they’re part of the brief. Chimney stacks, parapets and party-wall upstands are checked as far as they can be seen safely, along with the roof space where there is safe access. We’re frequently asked to look into missing or loose roof coverings and parapets and upstands in poor repair, on shared roofs, blocks of flats and gutters and downpipes.
Somewhere as small as Turville Heath, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses, with outbuildings and some newer houses. Roofs there can be clay tile, slate, stone or thatch, and chimney stacks are often old. We report on whatever is safely visible, and thatch is a specialist material. On older roofs, it’s normally the chimneys and lead flashings that need work first.
Report times depend on the survey you book: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day.

Landlord roof surveys around Turville Heath
The wider area around Turville Heath has a long history of building, with Stonor Park about 1 mile south. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters. West Oxfordshire’s older buildings often carry Cotswold stone slates, and a few villages in the county keep their thatch. Slate and clay tile are the usual coverings on older South East houses, with concrete tiles on many later estates. Whichever you have, the details that tend to fail before the covering itself get the closest look.

Rented homes, blocks and businesses
If the property is let, the agent or a tenant can let us in. Surveys run on any day of the week, which helps when tenants work during the week.
Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client.
Why get it checked now?
Finding a roof defect early normally means a smaller, planned job. Left until it leaks, a roof can damage ceilings and tenants’ belongings and force rushed work. Matching old materials, such as handmade tiles or stone slates, can take time to source. Spotting a problem early leaves room to find them.
To find out what your survey will cost, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the address and a few details. We will confirm the figure before booking.

Practical tips
Some practical points come up on survey after survey. They apply to most roofs:
- Book gutter clearing at least once a year
- Make leak reporting easy for tenants
- Tell tenants when we are coming
- Don’t store items over the loft hatch
Report times depend on the package: within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and the same day for Premium. Agents often choose the package that suits the building.
Keep gutters and outlets clear and include any valley or parapet gutters. Blocked gutters are a common cause of leaks into top-floor flats.
When to book a survey in Turville Heath
Many blocks and converted houses have several roof types. Each wears differently, and flat roofs over rear additions often need attention sooner.
People normally book a survey after spotting one of these:
- Leaks into upper flats
- Ponding or splits on flat roofs
- Missing or loose roof coverings
- Loose ridge or hip tiles
For any home in Turville Heath, it is the small, early fault that is cheapest to put right.

Turville Heath questions
Will you come out to Turville Heath?
Yes. Turville Heath is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We cover the whole of London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when booking.
Do you cover Turville Heath?
We do. Every survey there gets the same written report with photographs, and visits run on weekdays and weekends.
Will the survey cover the whole building?
No. We survey the roof and its parts, not the whole property. It is not a RICS Level 2 or 3 survey or a structural engineer’s report.
Can you survey at the weekend?
We carry out surveys on any day of the week. To arrange a date, call 07833 053749 or send us an email.
What does a block roof survey cost?
Our packages start from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, inc. VAT. Larger buildings are priced to suit. Just call 07833 053749 or use the contact form for a price.
Will you fly a drone over my roof?
Where it is applicable and safe, yes. We are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID), flying a sub-250g drone. Drone inspection is part of the Drone Roof Survey and the Premium Survey, where it applies.
Can you tell me if my roof has asbestos?
No. We don’t carry out asbestos surveys or testing. If we see materials that could contain asbestos, like cement roof sheets or soffits on buildings from before 2000, we flag them.
What happens on the day
Safety comes first on every visit. We inspect everything that’s safely in view, and if part of the roof cannot be seen, the report says so. The survey normally takes about one to two hours for a single let house, with blocks of flats taking longer. Rural addresses near Turville Heath can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions are welcome. After that, the survey runs as it would anywhere.
- We agree the roofs to be surveyed and what you need the report for.
- Access to flats and the roof space is arranged by you or your agent.
- We inspect each roof as far as it can be seen safely.
- We photograph defects and note how urgent they look.
- A written condition report follows to help you plan.
Preparing for the visit
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
- Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
- Keep pets inside or away from the areas we’re looking at
