What happens if roof problems are left?
If you are planning to sell, a roof survey can help you prepare. You will know what a buyer’s survey might pick up, or at least know what to expect. Matching old materials, such as handmade tiles or stone slates, can take time to source. Spotting a problem early leaves room to find them.
Every price we give includes VAT, and the report isn’t charged as an extra. Prices start from £150, including VAT. Size, height and access decide where your roof falls.

Roof surveys for homes and businesses in Bridge
Everything we check, we check safely: from ground level, from windows and other vantage points, from inside the loft and from the roof itself where it is safe. Premium adds thermal imaging, plus a drone inspection where applicable, for roofs that are hard to see well. All we need from you is access to the property and the loft. Everything we see is photographed for the report. If you are worried about ponding, splits or blisters on flat roofs and blocked, sagging or leaking gutters, a survey will tell you what’s going on, on chimney stacks, flat roofs and clay and concrete tiles alike.
Older buildings in small places like Bridge may be listed or in a conservation area. That can affect what materials can be used when work is done, so check with the council before planning anything. A roof report helps you plan work with that in mind. Where a building is listed, matching the existing roof materials is often expected.
Most points in the report come with a picture, so you can see each defect rather than just read about it. Anything out of sight on the day is listed as such.

When you need someone else
Our findings are based on what we can see safely on the day, so some things are outside what a survey can do:
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
- Confirmation of asbestos in soffits or cement sheets
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can call 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will tell you before you book. What our survey covers.
Roof types and parts we check
- Clay and concrete tiles
- Natural slate
- Lead flashings
- Chimney stacks
- Flat roofs
- The roof space
- Ridges, hips and valleys
How the survey works
After the inspection, everything we found is written up in a report with photographs, emailed to you. On timing, it normally takes about one to two hours for most houses, with bigger or more complicated roofs taking longer. In a small place like Bridge, access is normally the main thing to plan. Mention any outbuildings, barns or garages you want included, and anything about the roof you already know. Weekday and weekend visits are available.
- You get in touch with the address and anything you’ve noticed.
- A visit is booked for a weekday or a weekend.
- We inspect from ground level, from windows, from the loft space and from the roof where safe.

Advice
Local roofs in Bridge
If your survey includes the drone, the flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. Older houses across Kent often have handmade clay or peg tiles, and many have tile-hung walls. You will also find oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses among the county’s older buildings. Whatever the covering, it is often the fixings, flashings, valleys and gutters that give out first.
For an older house near a landmark like Church of St Peter, its chimney, valleys and lead work are likely to be the parts that need attention first. For businesses in and around places such as Whitefriars Shopping Centre, knowing the roof’s condition lets you budget for work rather than pay for emergencies. Anyone responsible for a site like Bridge and Patrixbourne Church of England Primary School will know that large buildings have long gutter runs and big roofs that need checking like any other.

Prices for roof surveys in Bridge
What a survey costs depends on the time and equipment it needs. The main factors are:
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
- Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
- House, block, shop or office
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
To find out what your survey will cost, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form and tell us about the roof. We’ll confirm the figure before booking.
What to tell us when you contact us
To price your survey accurately, we will ask about:
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
- The style of property, from a terrace to a block
- Whether there’s a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
Surveys can be booked for weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays. To arrange a day that suits you, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form.
Tips that help
Getting the most from a roof survey starts before we arrive and carries on afterwards. Tips:
- Photograph stains when they appear
- Look for debris in the garden after high winds
- Clear the loft hatch area before we arrive
- Gather any paperwork for past roof work
With the Standard Survey you get a follow-up consultation, and the Premium Survey includes an in-person consultation. It’s a chance to ask questions about anything in the report.
Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear of leaves and moss, particularly after autumn. Leave the clearing to a professional. Clear gutters prevent a lot of damp.
Common questions in Bridge
Can a landlord with a rental near Bekesbourne station book a roof survey?
Yes, letting agents and landlords book with us as well as owners. Just phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and tell us about the building, including who will give access on the day.
Do you cover smaller places like Bridge?
Yes. Bridge is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We survey roofs across London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you survey a shared roof?
Yes, as long as access is agreed. Roofs over flats are often shared, so we need permission from the building owner or managing agent. We inspect only the parts we are allowed to reach.
Will you climb onto the roof?
Only where it is safe to do so. Much of the survey is done from ground level, upper windows and the roof space. The Premium Survey adds a drone where applicable.
Do I have to be there for the survey?
It depends on what we need to see. Inside the building and in the loft, we need someone to let us in; we will agree the details when you book.
Are you insured?
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover our surveys. Ask if you need details for a managing agent or building owner.
Do you look in the roof space?
Where it is relevant to the survey and there’s safe access, yes. A clear path to the hatch helps, and if the loft can’t be reached safely, the report says so.
