Anvil Green Drone Roof Survey
Know where you stand with the roof before you decide what to do next. We carry out drone roof surveys in Anvil Green, with photos and a clear written report.
- Cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
- Ponding and splits on a high flat roof
Why get it checked now?
On a tall building, problems are often found only when water comes in. By that stage the damage has spread inside. Looking from above picks up the early signs. Outbuildings and barns around Anvil Green are easy to forget, but a failed roof there can spoil what’s stored inside. It’s worth including them in a survey before a winter does the damage.
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the size and height of the roof, access and which survey you book.
What you get with us

- Surveys seven days a week
- Package prices that include VAT

Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Anvil Green
Our drone weighs under 250g, and we’re a CAA-registered drone operator, with a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. We keep it in sight throughout, and well below the 120-metre height limit. Each flight is planned with the site and its surroundings in mind. Before every flight, we check the airspace and the weather. We never fly where it isn’t safe. If you’ve noticed vegetation in valleys and gutters and flashings that have come away, a survey will tell you what’s going on.
Older buildings in small places like Anvil Green may be listed or in a conservation area. Neither a drone survey nor a thermal survey involves any work on the roof, so it’s a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.
We write the report in plain English, so you don’t need to be a roofer to follow it. Photos show what each point refers to, and recommendations are put in order of urgency where relevant.

For landlords and managing agents
A roof problem in a let property affects your tenants as well as the building. A survey helps you spot issues early and plan the work around your tenants.
Freeholders and residents’ companies use a roof report to plan and budget, putting the urgent items at the top.

Airspace, weather and Anvil Green roofs
Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. Older houses across Kent frequently have handmade clay or peg tiles, and many have tile-hung walls. You’ll also find oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses among the county’s older buildings. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Bartholomew, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.

Your questions about drone roof surveys in Anvil Green
Is my home in Anvil Green listed or in a conservation area?
We can’t confirm that for you, but Historic England’s list and your council can. Both listing and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material, and councils can also use Article 4 directions.
Will you come out to Anvil Green?
Yes. Anvil Green is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We cover the whole of London and South East England. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Do you take photos of the roof?
Yes. Photographs are part of every report, so you can see each point for yourself.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day, which suits people who work during the week. Let us know your preferred days when you book.
What if it’s windy or raining on the day?
Strong wind or heavy rain stops a flight. Whether we can fly depends on the conditions on the day. If it’s unsuitable, we will agree another date or inspect by other means.
Will the drone show what’s under the tiles?
No. It sees only the outer surfaces. Leaks, damp timbers and condensation often show first from inside, so we inspect the loft space as well where access is safe.
What’s in the survey report?
It works through the roof part by part, in writing and with photos, finishing with recommendations. The most urgent items are made clear.
Checking the roof from the ground
During heavy rain, look at the gutters from the ground or a window. Overflowing water can point to a blockage or a sagging run.
The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way. That part is for a survey.
What we do, step by step
We work from the outside in: outside views come first, then the roof space if there’s safe access. In total, it takes between one and two hours for a house, or half a day or so for a commercial building. Somewhere as small as Anvil Green, access is often the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- First comes the address, plus a note of what worries you about the roof.
- Airspace restrictions are checked and permission sought where needed.
- Before take-off, the wind, the weather and the launch spot are checked.
- The drone photographs the roof closely, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Before the survey
- Let us know about parking before the day
- If you are buying, let the agent know when we’re coming
- Clear the way to the loft hatch
Arrange a survey
Not sure which survey you need? The easiest way is to phone 07833 053749 or email us and describe the roof and why you want it surveyed. We will talk you through the options and what they cost.
