- Close-up photos of next door’s property
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads

Drone roof survey in Bennett End
Prices start from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where applicable, is also part of our Premium Survey, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. There is a 12-month follow-up as well. If a drone will not help on your roof, we will say so. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photographs. We survey tall and steep roofs, large and complex roofs and fragile roofs, and the problems we are asked to look at most are standing water on a flat roof and ridge and hip pieces working loose.
In a small place like Bennett End, open ground can mean strong wind. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. If the day turns windy or wet, the visit can be moved.
If any part of the roof couldn’t be seen safely, we say so in the report. That way, it’s clear what was covered and what wasn’t.

Airspace, weather and Bennett End roofs
Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. About 3.4 miles south-east lies West Wycombe Park House, a reminder of how long the area around Bennett End has been built on. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material.
If you look after a building such as Radnage Church of England Primary School, a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit. If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Church of St Mary, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.

Tips that help
A little preparation and a few simple habits help, both for the survey and for the roof itself. Our tips:
- Check the loft can be reached
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
- Give us the full address so we can check the airspace
- Keep dogs indoors during the visit
The Premium Survey includes an in-person consultation to talk through the photographs and findings. You can ask about anything that is not clear.
Plan a drone survey every few years for tall or large roofs. Comparing surveys shows what is wearing, and early repairs keep water out.
How the survey works
The visit has one job: to see as much of the roof as can be seen safely and record it clearly. Everything we note and photograph goes into the written report. It typically takes about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Somewhere as small as Bennett End, access is frequently the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Weekday and weekend visits are available.
- We start with the address and what you’d like checked.
- Any flight restriction at the address is looked at, with permission requested if required.
- We assess the conditions and the take-off spot first.
- The drone photographs the roof closely, kept in sight throughout.
- The findings, photos and recommendations reach you by email.
How to prepare
- Let us know where we can park nearby
- Have any questions written down, so nothing gets missed
- Check pets are kept safely away

What affects the cost of drone roof surveys
A few things affect what a survey costs:
- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
- The shape of the roof and its details
- Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
Every price we give includes VAT, and the report isn’t charged as an extra. Prices start from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.
What to let us know when you contact us
You don’t need to know any roofing terms. Just let us know:
- Your timetable, such as an exchange date
- The kind of building and roof involved
- Anything about access we should know
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
To book a survey, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and tell us the address and what’s prompted the survey. We’ll confirm the price before booking.
DIY checks: what’s safe
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.
Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Send it with your enquiry, as it helps us focus the survey.
How the survey changes by roof type
Valleys and parapet gutters
Blocked outlets in hidden gutters cause many leaks. We check outlets and photograph any build-up.
Steep slate and tile slopes
Widespread slipping on slate normally means nail fatigue. Close-up photos show how widespread it is.
FAQs for Bennett End
Will you come out to Bennett End?
Yes, Bennett End is covered. We work right across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Bennett End?
Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. Either can affect what roof work is allowed, so it is worth checking before planning any.
What does a roof survey cost?
Prices start from £400, including VAT. Our three packages are Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, with VAT included.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes, if the freeholder or managing agent agrees access. We look at the parts we are given access to.
How long does a drone roof survey take?
Expect it to take between one and two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Pre-flight checks of the site and the weather are part of that.
Will I get photos?
Yes, plenty. Pictures sit next to the findings they show.
Will you photograph next door’s garden?
We take care around neighbouring homes. The camera is pointed at your roof, not next door. Letting neighbours know ahead of time helps.
