Bletchingley Drone Roof Survey
We take a careful look at the roof at your property in Bletchingley, with photos and a written report.
- Lead work pulling away at abutments
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
- Wind damage high on the roof
Leave it or get it looked at?
A drone record gives you a baseline. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It’s useful for planning maintenance over the years. Around Bletchingley, older homes often have old roof timbers, and water through a failed covering can rot timber if it is left.

Drone roof survey in Bletchingley: what you get
Our price is from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where it applies, is also part of our Premium Survey, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone won’t help on your roof, we’ll say so. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photographs. If you’re worried about debris building up in hidden gutters and eroded pointing on a chimney stack, a survey will tell you what’s going on.
In a small place like Bletchingley, open ground can mean strong wind. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or a downpour, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
The written findings come by email, ready to forward to whoever needs them. Turnaround is within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and same day for Premium.

Roof by roof
Steep slate and tile slopes
Steep roofs are risky to walk on. From the air, every course of slates or tiles can be seen.
Valleys and parapet gutters
When a parapet outlet blocks, water can come inside. Outlets and any debris around them are photographed.
When you need someone else
Before booking, it’s worth knowing what a survey won’t do:
- The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
- Close-up photos of next door’s property
If you’re not sure which survey you need, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will give you a straight answer before booking. What a survey covers and does not.
Roof types and parts we check
- Fragile roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Tall and steep roofs
- Large and complex roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Chimney stacks
How the survey works
Every roof is different; as a rough guide, the survey takes an hour or two for most houses; commercial roofs usually need 3–4 hours. You are welcome to ask questions while we are there. For a village or hamlet like Bletchingley, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. On the day, we inspect everything that’s safely in view, inside and out.
- You give us the address and tell us about the roof.
- We check the airspace and seek any permission needed.
- On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
- Close-up photos are taken of each slope, chimney, valley and gutter, with the drone always in view.
- The findings, photos and recommendations reach you by email.
Before we arrive
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey

Checking the roof from the ground
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.
After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Photograph them and note the date, which helps when we look at the roof.
Questions from Bletchingley
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Bletchingley?
Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the local council can tell you about conservation areas. If a home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission.
Will you come out to Bletchingley?
We do. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one.
Does your drone take thermal images?
The drone gives you detailed photos of the outside of the roof. Thermal imaging comes with the Premium Survey.
Does the weather affect a drone survey?
The conditions on the day decide whether a flight goes ahead. We won’t fly in strong wind or heavy rain. We will talk through the options if the day turns bad.
What if my home is near an airport?
Flight restriction zones around protected airports need permission from the airport or air traffic control before any flight. We check the airspace for your address and seek permission where it is needed. If it isn’t given, we inspect by other means.
Will the drone film my neighbours?
No, the camera is kept on your roof. Neighbouring homes and gardens aren’t the subject, and flights are kept short. A quick word with the neighbours is a good idea.
How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Bletchingley?
To arrange a survey, ring 07833 053749 or email us with the address, the type of property and what’s prompted the survey. We’ll confirm the price and find a day that suits.

Drones, thermal imaging and Bletchingley roofs
The flight restriction zone around Redhill Aerodrome comes within about 1 mile of Bletchingley. The exact boundary is checked for each address before any flight, and a roof inside it needs permission before we fly. Listing and conservation areas can both shape what roof work is allowed on an older home. The council is the place to check, along with Historic England’s list.
For an older house near a landmark like Church of St Mary the Virgin, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image. If you look after a building such as Bletchingley Village Primary School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.

Signs you need a drone roof survey in Bletchingley
From the pavement, most of a tall roof is out of sight. Rear slopes, valleys and the tops of chimneys are hidden. Faults there can go unnoticed for years, which is why owners turn to a drone.
We are often asked to look at:
- Ridge and hip pieces working loose
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below
- Lifted or split lead flashings
If you run a business near The Belfry, thermal images can show trapped moisture across a wide commercial roof.
