How a drone roof survey works in Bogle

Drone roof surveys are available in Bogle and throughout London and South East England, where the airspace and the weather allow. We fly seven days a week. We check the airspace for your address before booking a flight. The report includes the drone photos and our recommendations. To ask whether a drone survey suits your roof, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the address. We survey tall and steep roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and chimney stacks, and people most frequently book us about plant growth and moss on the roof and cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below.

Older buildings in small places like Bogle may be listed or in a conservation area. A look from above or with a thermal imager doesn’t touch the roof, so it’s a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof, before anyone decides what work it needs. Check with the council before planning any work on a listed building or one in a conservation area.

What you get is a clear record of the roof on the day we saw it. That makes it useful now and a handy reference later, for example when you want to check whether anything has changed.

What we can’t see

This isn’t a RICS building survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. It also has these limits:

  • Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying
  • What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
  • Flights in strong wind or a downpour

If you are not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer. What our survey covers.

What we look at

  • Fragile roofs
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Tall and steep roofs

Should I look at the roof myself first?

The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way, and a fall can be serious. That is where a survey comes in.

Inside, the loft is a good place to look, with care. Use a torch and stay on the joists or boards, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.

Tips that help

Some practical points come up on survey after survey. They apply to most roofs:

  • Tell us the exact address when booking
  • Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
  • Clear a spot on the drive or lawn
  • Make sure the loft can be reached

Keep the photos with your property records. They give you something to compare against later.

Every so frequently, look in the loft space with a torch, keeping to boarded areas. A drone sees the outside, but the loft shows leaks and condensation from below. Photograph anything new.

What affects the cost of drone roof surveys

Not every roof costs the same to survey, for these reasons:

  • Basic, Standard or Premium
  • House, block, shop or office
  • Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages
  • How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets

There are three survey packages: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, all with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you need to know.

What we need to know

If you can, have these to hand when you contact us:

  • Where water is showing inside, if it is
  • Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
  • How the loft is reached, if there is one
  • The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat

When you are ready to go ahead, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email. We will suggest a package, agree the price and find a date, weekday or weekend.

FAQs for Bogle

How do I find out if my home in Bogle is listed?

You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it is in a conservation area. If a home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission.

Do you cover smaller places like Bogle?

Yes, we do. We survey roofs across London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.

How long does the visit take?

Allow about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. We’ll give you an idea of timing as you book.

Will you walk on the roof?

Only if it is safe. We look at everything that can safely be seen: from ground level, from windows and vantage points, from the roof space, from the roof itself where safe and by drone where it applies. Anything we can’t see is noted in the report.

Can you survey at the weekend?

We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day, which suits people who work during the week. Just say which days work for you.

Does the report include photos?

Yes. The report includes photos of what we found, so you can see exactly what each finding refers to.

When does the report arrive?

Each package has its own report time. Basic: within 48 hours. Standard: 24 to 48 hours. Premium: the same day. Mention any deadline as you book.

What happens on the day

On the day, we start by asking what you’ve noticed and what you want to find out. After that, we check everything we can see safely. Most surveys take about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Around Bogle, older homes can have small or awkward roof spaces, so tell us about the loft hatch and any ladder. We only go where it’s safe.

  1. We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
  2. We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
  3. Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
  4. If the loft can be reached safely, it is checked too.
  5. The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.

Before we arrive

  • If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building
  • Make sure pets are kept safely away
  • Leave a clear route to the loft

Drone roof surveys around Bogle

Bogle is within about 3 miles of the coast, and wind near the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain. Historic houses such as Belmont House and Gardens, about 4 miles south-east, show how far back building in the area around Bogle goes. Older homes in the wider area often have features worth a closer look, like lead valleys, tall stacks and roofs that have been patched over the years.

Take a building like Lynsted and Norton Primary School: a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Peter and St Paul, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.
