Drone roof survey in Chestnut Street

Our price is from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where applicable, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone won’t help on your roof, we’ll say so. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photographs. Common reasons to book are slates or tiles shifted by high winds and ridge and hip pieces working loose, across fragile roofs, large and complex roofs and chimney stacks.

Somewhere as small as Chestnut Street, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. A drone and a thermal camera each give a view you can’t get from ground level. Weather and airspace are checked ahead of the visit. Steep slopes and tall chimney stacks are where a close-up view adds the most.

The written findings come by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Basic reports come within 48 hours, Standard within 24–48 hours and Premium on the day.

FAQs for Chestnut Street

Will you come out to Chestnut Street?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We survey roofs across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when booking.

Is drone flying allowed in Chestnut Street?

It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.

Will you walk on the roof?

Only when it’s safe. Most of what we need can be seen from safe viewpoints, the loft and, where it applies, a drone, and the report notes anything we couldn’t see.

I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?

Yes, once whoever controls the roof agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we are allowed to reach, and the report makes that clear.

Do you test for asbestos?

No. We can flag materials that might contain asbestos, but only a specialist asbestos surveyor can confirm it. Buildings built or refurbished before 2000 may contain it.

Can you give me structural calculations?

No. Our survey isn’t a structural engineer’s report, and it does not include calculations. We’ll recommend an engineer if we see signs that call for one.

How much is a survey?

Prices start from £400, including VAT. We confirm the exact price before booking, and it depends on the roof’s size, access and the package you choose. For a price, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.

Roof by roof

Chimney stacks

The drone shows the outside of the stack, and it isn’t a flue or gas safety check. If the flue needs a specialist, we’ll tell you.

Flat roofs on tall buildings

Flat roofs on tall buildings are frequently seen by nobody. From above, standing water, splits and tired upstands are clear.

What a drone roof survey looks like in Chestnut Street

Chestnut Street lies within about 4 miles of the sea, and wind near the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone can’t fly safely in high wind or heavy rain. Our drone weighs under 250g, and we hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID. Open category rules keep flights below 120 m (400 ft) and the drone within sight at all times.

Take an older house close to Church of St Peter and St Paul: steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from the ground, and that is where a view from the air or with a thermal camera helps. Take a building like Borden Church of England Primary School: a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.

What affects the price in Chestnut Street

Our packages start from £150, with VAT included. What you pay for your roof depends on:

  • Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
  • The size of the roof
  • Building height and the viewpoints available
  • If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone

To find out what your survey will cost, ring 07833 053749 or email us with the address and a few details. We’ll confirm the figure before booking.

Helping us price your survey

Here’s what helps us most when you get in touch:

  • Where the property is, with the postcode
  • Where water is showing inside, if it is
  • How the loft is reached, if there is one
  • Dates you’re working to, like exchange

You can call us seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays. For a price or to book, call 07833 053749 or send us an email.

For landlords and managing agents

If you own several properties, you can book surveys for several addresses. To arrange surveys for several addresses, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the addresses.

Businesses and commercial landlords can book us too, including offices, shops and units. Larger roofs take longer, and they’re priced for the size.

Tips that help

Over many surveys, some simple habits stand out:

  • Shut pets inside while we fly
  • Expect a little longer if permission is needed
  • Keep a clear space in the garden or drive for take-off
  • Let us know what you want to see

The Premium Survey includes an in-person consultation to go through what the drone showed. You can ask about anything that is not clear.

Do not block the vents at the eaves. Poor airflow lets condensation build up. Make sure insulation does not block the airflow.

The survey, step by step

You do not need to do much on the day. Point out anything you’ve noticed, such as stains, drips or loose pieces, and we’ll get on with the inspection. The survey itself takes about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. In a hamlet or village like Chestnut Street, a postcode does not always lead to the right gate, so a few directions are welcome. After that, the survey runs as it would anywhere.

  1. First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
  2. If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
  3. We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
  4. The sub-250g drone takes close-up photos of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
  5. We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets out of the way during the survey
  • If you are buying, let the agent know when we are coming
  • Dig out any old roof reports or invoices

How to book

Advice

What you can safely check yourself

Look up at the roof after a storm, from ground level: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.

It’s useful to keep a record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Share it with us when booking, as it helps us focus the survey.
