Drone roof survey in Englefield Green

Our price is from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where it applies, is also part of our Premium Survey, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. We will tell you if a drone isn’t the right tool for your roof. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photos. If you’re worried about debris building up in hidden gutters and worn lead at chimneys and walls, we can find out what’s behind it, whatever the roof.

Places like Englefield Green can be near small airfields or other airspace restrictions, so the Drone Safety Map is checked before any flight. Exposed sites can be windy, and a small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind, while thermal imaging also works best with little wind. Each flight is planned with neighbours’ privacy in mind, as well as the airspace and the wind.

How fast the report arrives depends on the package: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day.

Useful tips for Englefield Green property owners

Nothing here needs a ladder. A few suggestions:

  • Give us the full address so we can check the airspace
  • Shut pets inside while we fly
  • Expect us to rearrange if it’s too windy or wet
  • Let neighbours know about the flight if your roof is shared

You get an in-person consultation with the Premium Survey to go through what the drone showed. It’s a chance to ask about anything in the report.

Check the loft now and then, with care and a good torch. A drone sees the outside, but the loft shows leaks and condensation from below. Photograph anything new.

Airspace, weather and Englefield Green roofs

About 3.2 miles north lies Frogmore House, a reminder of how long the area around Englefield Green has been built on. Period homes nearby can have lead valleys, tall chimneys and a patchwork of past repairs, and any change of roofing material on a listed home needs checking with the council first. The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Open category rules keep flights below 120 m (400 ft) and the drone within sight at all times.

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries, big roofs are where aerial photos and thermal images show the most at once. A roof leak in a hotel or guest house around Englefield Green means lost rooms as well as repairs.

Signs you need a drone roof survey in Englefield Green

Chimney tops take the worst of the weather. Cracked flaunching, loose pots and eroded pointing are often invisible from below. A drone gets close enough to see them in detail.

Problems we come across often include:

  • Moss and weeds taking hold up top
  • Loose ridge and hip tiles
  • Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
  • Worn lead at chimneys and walls

Take an older house close to Church of Our Lady of the Assumption: older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.

FAQs for Englefield Green

How do I find out if my home in Englefield Green is listed?

Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the local council can tell you about conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.

Will you come out to Englefield Green?

Yes. Englefield Green is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our area covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route as you book.

How many surveys have you done?

We have more than 20 years’ experience and have carried out more than 5,000 surveys.

Do you carry out surveys on Saturdays and Sundays?

We survey seven days a week: weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tell us which days suit you when you book.

Do I have to be there for the survey?

That depends on the survey. For inside areas and the roof space, someone has to give us access; we will agree the details when booking.

How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Englefield Green?

The quickest way is to ring 07833 053749 or send us an email. Tell us the address and a little about the roof. We survey on weekdays and at weekends.

How much is a survey?

Our price is from £400, including VAT. We confirm the price for the job before you book, and it depends on the roof’s size, access and the package you choose. To get a price, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form.

What affects the cost of drone roof surveys

Prices vary from roof to roof, and it comes down to:

  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings
  • Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
  • The roof’s overall size

The Premium Survey includes thermal imaging and drone inspection where applicable, which starts from £400, with VAT included. We can help you choose the package that fits what you’d like to know.

Getting in touch

The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you contact us, tell us:

  • Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
  • The property’s address and postcode
  • Any deadline, such as an exchange date
  • Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work

Booking is simple: just call 07833 053749 or email us, let us know about the property and we’ll recommend the right survey. We confirm the price before anything is booked.

What we look for on each type of roof

Large commercial roofs

Cement sheet roofs on buildings from before 2000 may contain asbestos. We don’t test for it, but we flag it and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor.

Steep slate and tile slopes

Old slates and clay tiles can crack underfoot. A drone avoids that, so the survey doesn’t add damage.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way. That part is for a survey, using safe viewpoints and a drone where applicable.

Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Overflowing water can point to a blockage or a sagging run.

What happens on the day

The visit normally starts outside and finishes in the loft: outside views come first, then the loft space if there is safe access. In total, it takes about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. With a bit of garden around a house, as there frequently is around Englefield Green, the roof can be viewed from several angles. Let us know if any side is fenced off or hard to reach. The loft, where there is safe access, completes the picture.

  1. You give us the address and let us know about the roof.
  2. We check the airspace and seek any permission needed.
  3. On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
  4. Close-up photos are taken of each slope, chimney, valley and gutter, with the drone always in view.
  5. The findings, photos and recommendations reach you by email.
