Getting in touch
We’ll usually ask about:
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
- Where the property is, with the postcode
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
If you have photos of the roof, send them over. Pictures from ground level or a window are fine. To send them or to book, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form.
Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Grove Green
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where applicable, is also part of our Premium Survey, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. We will tell you if a drone is not the right tool for your roof. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photos. We’re often asked to look into lead work pulling away at abutments and ridge pieces that have lifted, across flat roofs on upper floors, valleys and parapet gutters and tall and steep roofs.
Even in a smaller place like Grove Green, there may be airfields or restrictions nearby, so every drone flight starts with a check of the Drone Safety Map. Open ground can mean stronger wind, which also affects whether a small drone can fly. Each flight is planned with neighbours’ privacy in mind, as well as the airspace and the wind.
Report times depend on the survey you book: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day.

Different roofs, different checks
Chimney stacks
Our drone check of a chimney is visual, and it isn’t a flue or gas safety check. If the flue needs a specialist, we’ll tell you.
Flat roofs on tall buildings
Felt often lasts around 15 to 20 years, EPDM rubber around 30 to 50 and GRP up to about 30. We record the signs of age we can see.
Grove Green: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Grove Green?
Yes, Grove Green is on our map. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Grove Green?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.
How long have you been surveying roofs?
More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years, across London and South East England.
Do you carry professional indemnity insurance?
We hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance, for every survey we carry out.
What happens next?
You will receive the report by email, and you decide the next step: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.
What does a roof survey cost?
Our price is from £400, including VAT. Our Basic Survey starts from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all with VAT included.
Can you give me structural calculations?
No. We note visible signs like sagging or deflection, but we do not carry out calculations or give an engineer’s opinion. If we think you need an engineer, the report says so.
What happens on the day
The visit usually starts outside and finishes in the loft: first the slopes, edges and gutters from every safe viewpoint, then the loft space where it can be reached. In total, it takes about 1–2 hours for a house, and about three to four hours for a commercial roof. With a bit of garden around a house, as there often is around Grove Green, the roof can be viewed from several angles. Let us know if any side is fenced off or hard to reach. The loft, where there is safe access, completes the picture.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it before the visit.
- Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
- We fly the drone close to the roof to photograph it in detail, always in sight.
- Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.
Before we arrive
- Move anything stored under the loft hatch
- If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building
- Point out any leaks or damp patches

Advice
Flying and imaging in Grove Green
The wider area around Grove Green has a long history of building, with Stoneacre about 2.5 miles south-east. If yours is one of the older homes, expect a mix of original materials and later repairs on the roof. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first.
If yours is one of the older homes in the streets near Church of St Luke, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. For businesses in and around places such as The Mall Maidstone, thermal images can show trapped moisture across a wide commercial roof.

Why get it checked now?

DIY checks: what’s safe
Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Water spilling over the edge can point to a blockage or a sagging run.
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.
For landlords and managing agents
Managing agents and residents’ management companies use roof surveys to plan maintenance. The report sets out what needs attention now and what can wait.
