Independent drone roof surveys in Horton

Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Horton

Prices start from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where it applies, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone will not help on your roof, we will say so. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photographs. If you’ve noticed moss building up on slopes and in gutters and slates or tiles shifted by high winds, we can find out what’s behind it, on chimney stacks, large and complex roofs and flat roofs on upper floors alike.

Somewhere as small as Horton, older roofs are frequently steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what cannot be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.

The written findings come by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Basic reports come within 48 hours, Standard within 24–48 hours and Premium on the day.

Why it is worth a survey now in Horton

Leaving a slipped slate or a blocked valley can turn a small fault into a leak. Spotting them early keeps the work smaller. Outbuildings and barns around Horton are easy to forget, but a failed roof there can spoil what’s stored inside. A quick look before winter can save a lot.

Every price we give includes VAT, and the report is not charged as an extra. Prices start from £400, including VAT. Size, height and access decide where your roof falls.

Why us?

  • An independent view of the roof
  • Covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance
  • 98% of clients satisfied
  • Packages from £150, including VAT

What happens on the day

The visit usually starts outside and finishes in the loft: first the slopes, edges and gutters from every safe viewpoint, then the loft space where it can be reached. All told, expect about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. In a small place like Horton, access is usually the main thing to plan. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Weekday and weekend visits are available.

  1. We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
  2. Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
  3. Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
  4. The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
  5. We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.

Before the survey

  • Move anything stored under the loft hatch
  • Make sure pets are kept safely away
  • Unlock side gates and any roof access doors

Do you need a drone roof survey in Horton?

Many roofs are never seen properly from the ground. Rear slopes, valleys and the tops of chimneys are hidden. Problems in those places often go unseen until they leak.

Here are some of the things we see frequently:

  • Ponding and splits on a high flat roof
  • Ridge and hip pieces working loose
  • Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
  • Debris building up in hidden gutters

Anyone responsible for a site like Colnbrook Church of England Primary School will know that big roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What’s outside the scope of the survey
  • Their drone registration, if they fly one
  • Is there a chance to talk the report through?
  • How long they’ve been surveying roofs

What a good roof survey covers

Horton: your questions answered

Is Horton within the area you cover?

Yes, Horton is covered. Our area covers London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.

Can you fly a drone over a roof in Horton?

Typically it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Horton is about 1 mile from the edge of the flight restriction zone around Heathrow Airport. The exact boundary is checked for each address before any flight, and a roof inside it needs permission before we fly. Strong wind or a downpour also stops a small drone flying.

What’s in the report?

It sets out what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, backed by photographs. Anything we couldn’t see safely is noted too.

I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?

Yes, as long as access is agreed. Roofs over flats are often shared, so we need permission from the freeholder or managing agent. We inspect only the parts we’re allowed to reach.

When does the report arrive?

It depends on the package: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day. The report is emailed to you.

How do I book a survey in Horton?

To arrange a survey, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and let us know the address and what you want to find out. We’ll confirm the price and find a day that suits.

Do you need to get into the loft?

Typically, if there is one and it can be reached safely. The roof space can show things the outside can’t, like damp timbers, staining or daylight.

Drone roof surveys in Horton: local notes

Horton is about 1 mile from the edge of the flight restriction zone around Heathrow Airport. We check the exact boundary for the address before flying, and if the roof falls inside it, we ask for permission first. Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles, and flat-roofed additions turn up almost everywhere. A drone or thermal camera adds most on the steep, tall and hidden parts of roofs like these.

The streets around a church like Church of St Michael are frequently among the oldest in a place, and if yours is one of the older homes nearby, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image. Frogmore House, about 2.5 miles west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Horton. For older roofs nearby, a look from above or with a thermal imager is a hands-off way to check condition.

Horton is about 3 miles north of Egham, in Slough. In Horton, as across Slough, every roof gets the same careful survey. Our Slough coverage includes Horton. Guildford is in our area too.

Surveys in SL3 and TW19 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. You’ll find streets like Stanwell Road, Bells Lane and Foundry Lane, and we cover them all. Other places close to Horton include Brands Hill (1 mile north), Colnbrook (1 mile north-east), Sunnymeads (1 mile west), Poyle (1 mile north-east) and Wraysbury (1 mile south-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Slough (4 miles north-west), Cippenham (5 miles north-west), Chalvey (4 miles north-west), Britwell (6 miles north-west), Upton (3 miles north-west) and Burnham (7 miles north-west).

Prices for drone roof surveys in Horton

We confirm the price for your survey before booking. This is what makes a difference:

  • The use of thermal imaging or a drone
  • Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings

Our price is from £400, including VAT. The final price depends on how big and how high the roof is, access and the package you choose.

Getting in touch

A little information up front helps. Please include:

  • Where the property is, with the postcode
  • Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
  • Your timetable, like an exchange date
  • Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work

To book a survey, call 07833 053749 or email us and let us know the address and what’s prompted the survey. We’ll confirm the price before you book.

DIY checks: what’s safe

Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. You will not see flashings, valleys or the backs of chimneys properly from the ground.

You can learn a lot from ground level. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Please don’t climb up for a closer look.

How the survey changes by roof type

Large commercial roofs

Cement sheet roofs on buildings from before 2000 may contain asbestos. We flag it in the report and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor.

Steep slate and tile slopes

On slate roofs, slipped slates often point to corroded nails. Close-up photos show how widespread it is.
