Prices for drone roof surveys in Liss
Several things affect the price of a survey:
- Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages
- Roof area
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone
What a survey costs comes down to the roof itself: its size, its height, how many sections it has and how safely it can be seen. Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT.
Helping us price your survey
Before you get in touch, it’s useful to have:
- How the loft is reached, if there is one

Drone roof survey in Liss: what you get
Some roofs are hard or unsafe to reach. Our drone roof survey gets a camera close to them without anyone climbing. You see slates, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters in detail, including slopes that cannot be seen from the street. Everything we find goes into a written report with photos. It also suits roofs that would be damaged by someone walking on them. Where a flight is not possible, we explain why. We survey large and complex roofs, fragile roofs and valleys and parapet gutters, and people most frequently book us about blistered or cracked flat roof coverings and moss building up on slopes and in gutters.
Even in a smaller place like Liss, there may be airfields or restrictions nearby, so every drone flight starts with a check of the Drone Safety Map. Open ground can mean stronger wind, which also affects whether a small drone can fly, while thermal imaging also works best with little wind. Each flight is planned with neighbours’ privacy in mind, as well as the airspace and the wind.
It isn’t only a list of defects. It explains what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, so you can decide what to do next.

Honest limits
This isn’t a RICS building survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. It also has these limits:
- Close-up photos of next door’s property
- Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
If you’re not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking. What our survey covers.
Roofs we survey in Liss
- Large and complex roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Fragile roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
Checking the roof from the ground
A lot can be seen from ground level. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Never climb onto the roof to look.
Look up at the roof after a storm, from the ground: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Don’t go up yourself.
Roof by roof
Chimney stacks
Our drone check of a chimney is visual, and it isn’t a flue or gas safety check. We will say if a specialist is needed.
Steep slate and tile slopes
On slate roofs, slipped slates frequently point to corroded nails. Close-up photos show how widespread it is.
Why it’s worth a survey now in Liss
Planning roof work without seeing the roof is a gamble. You get photos of every part we can see, with recommendations prioritised by urgency where relevant. That helps you put the work in order. In an older home around Liss, water from a roof defect can get into timber and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the roof fault itself.
Simple, low roofs take less time to survey than tall or complicated ones, and the package matters as well. The price is always agreed first.

Common questions in Liss
Do you cover smaller places like Liss?
We do. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one, with the route planned beforehand.
How do I find out if my home in Liss is listed?
The council and Historic England’s list are the places to check. Either can affect what roof work is allowed, so it is worth checking before planning any.
What will the report tell me?
Written findings with photos, covering the condition of the roof, the defects we found and what we recommend. Standard adds moisture detection and a structural check; Premium adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where it applies and structural analysis.
What if it is windy or raining on the day?
Strong wind or heavy rain stops a flight. Whether we can fly depends on the conditions on the day. If it is unsuitable, we will agree another date or inspect by other means.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day. Just say which days work for you.
What if my home is near an airport?
Sometimes, with permission. Confirmed flight restriction zones include Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted, Luton and Southampton, among others, where the airport or air traffic control must give permission first. If permission is not given, the roof is inspected from other safe viewpoints.
How long does a drone roof survey take?
On site, it typically takes roughly 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Time for the pre-flight checks is included.
Drone roof surveys in Liss: local notes
Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight.
If you look after a building such as Liss Infant School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof. If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Church of St Mary, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where photos from the air and thermal images help.

How it works
When we arrive, we start by asking what you’ve noticed and what you’d like to know. We then inspect everything that can be seen safely, from ground level, from windows, in the roof space and by drone where it applies. Most surveys take about 1–2 hours for most houses, or half a day or so for a commercial building. Some parts of a survey depend on the weather, so a visit to Liss is booked with the forecast in mind: the parts that need calm, dry weather are planned around it.
- We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
- A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
- We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we’re surveying.
- Where there is safe access, we check the loft as well.
- You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.
How to prepare
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with whoever owns or manages the building
- Jot down any questions you want answered
- Show us where any leaks or stains appear
