Drone Roof Survey in Pearson's Green
A careful look at the roof at your property in Pearson's Green, with photos and a written report.
- Outlets choked with leaves and silt
- Standing water on a flat roof
- Coverings that have slipped high up on the roof
Can I check my roof myself?
Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. You will not see flashings, valleys or the backs of chimneys properly from ground level, and those are details a survey looks at closely.
During heavy rain, look at the gutters from ground level or a window. Overflowing water can point to a blockage or a sagging run.
Drone roof survey in Pearson's Green
We fly a sub-250g drone, and we are a CAA-registered drone operator, with a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. It stays within sight for the whole flight, and well below the 120-metre height limit. Every flight is planned around the roof, the site and the people nearby. Before every flight, we check the airspace and the weather. We never fly where it isn’t safe. Typical surveys look at lifted or split lead flashings and slates or tiles shifted by high winds, across tall and steep roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and fragile roofs.
Somewhere as small as Pearson's Green, older roofs are frequently steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what can’t be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first, and the journey is planned ahead of time. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.
The report is yours to share with whoever needs it: a seller or estate agent, an insurer, a roofer, a builder or a managing agent, whichever applies.

What we look for on each type of roof
Chimney stacks
Chimney tops are hard to see from the ground. A drone gets close to the pots, flaunching, pointing and flashings, so cracks and gaps are clear.
Large commercial roofs
Many commercial roofs have fragile sheets or roof lights. A drone keeps everyone off them.
What we do, step by step
Every visit follows the same pattern: we listen to what’s been worrying you, look at the roof from every safe viewpoint, photograph what we find and make notes for the report. It normally takes an hour or two at most homes, and more on a big or complicated roof. For a village or hamlet like Pearson's Green, the journey is planned ahead of time: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. On the day, we inspect what can be seen safely, inside and out.
- First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The drone captures close-up photos of the coverings, chimneys, valleys and gutters.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
Before we arrive
- Show us where any leaks or stains appear
- Tell us where we can park nearby
- Have keys ready for side gates, garages or roof access doors

What we cannot see
Our survey isn’t a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. It also has these limits:
- Photos in conditions too poor to fly
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
- A structural engineer’s report
If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will point you to the right survey before you book. What a survey covers and doesn’t.
Roof types and parts we check
- Fragile roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Large and complex roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Tall and steep roofs
Why get it checked now?
From ground level, you are guessing about most of a tall roof. Close-up photos show what’s really there, slope by slope. Seeing the problem makes it easier to decide what to do. Older cottages and farmhouses around Pearson's Green can have roof timbers that have been there a very long time, where water from a failed roof can cause rot if it’s left.
Prices start from £400, including VAT. The final price depends on how big and how high the roof is, access and which survey you book.
What you get with us

Flying and imaging in Pearson's Green
Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. Older houses across Kent frequently have handmade clay or peg tiles, and many have tile-hung walls. Oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses are part of the county’s older buildings too. A drone or thermal camera adds most on the steep, tall and hidden parts of roofs like these.
Scotney Castle, about 5 miles south, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Pearson's Green. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from the ground, and a survey by drone or thermal camera doesn’t touch the roof itself. Take a building like Mascalls School: thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.

Pearson's Green questions
Will you come out to Pearson's Green?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our area covers London and South East England. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route as you book.
Are there drone restrictions around Pearson's Green?
Typically it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. Strong wind or a downpour also stops a small drone flying.
Do you test for asbestos?
No. Asbestos surveys and testing aren’t part of what we do. We flag materials that could contain asbestos, such as cement sheets or soffits on pre-2000 buildings, and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor checks them before they’re disturbed.
Can you survey at the weekend?
We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day. Let us know your preferred days when booking.
How long does the survey take?
That depends on the size and shape of the roof, but most surveys take about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. The report is sent afterwards by email.
What does the report include?
It works through the roof part by part, in writing and with photos, and ends with what we recommend. Points are put with the most urgent first where relevant.
What’s the best way to book?
To book, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address, the type of property and what’s prompted the survey. We’ll confirm the price and find a day that suits.
