Warfield Drone Roof Survey
Find out what’s going on with the roof before you spend money on it. We carry out drone roof surveys in Warfield, with photographs and a clear written report.

- Eroded pointing on a chimney stack
- Worn lead at chimneys and walls
Drone roof survey in Warfield: what you get
Before any flight, we check the airspace. Flight restriction zones around airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick and London City need permission from the airport or air traffic control. Parts of central London have restricted areas too, where NATS permission is needed. If permission is not given, we inspect by other means and tell you. Prisons have their own drone restriction zones too. If you are worried about gaps where slates or tiles have gone and lifted or split lead flashings, a survey will tell you what’s going on, whatever the roof.
Older buildings in small places like Warfield may be listed or in a conservation area. Neither a drone survey nor a thermal survey involves any work on the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care. Check with the council before planning any work on a listed building or one in a conservation area.
We keep jargon out of it: where something needs attention, it says so plainly.

What affects the price in Warfield
The price reflects the time and kit the roof needs. The main factors are:
- The use of thermal imaging or a drone
- Height and safe access
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where applicable) come with the Premium Survey, which starts from £400, inc. VAT. We’ll tell you which package suits the questions you have.
Helping us price your survey
The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you get in touch, it’s useful to mention:
- Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
- When you need the report by
- The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
Not sure which survey you need? It is easiest to phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and describe the roof and why you want it surveyed. We will explain the options and the price.

Practical tips
A few practical points come up again and again on our surveys. They’re worth knowing whatever the roof:
- Be ready to move the date if the weather turns
- Expect a little longer if permission is needed
- Let us know what you want to see
- Keep dogs indoors during the visit
Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It shows whether anything has moved or worn since the first visit, and whether work has done its job.
Keep the loft space ventilated. Poor airflow lets condensation build up. Keep insulation clear of the eaves.
Signs you need a drone roof survey in Warfield
Many roofs are never seen properly from the ground. You can’t see the back slope, the valleys or the chimney tops. Problems in those places often go unseen until they leak, which is why owners turn to a drone.
People usually book a survey after spotting one of these:
- Worn lead at chimneys and walls
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
- Tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack
- Coverings that have slipped high up on the roof
If you own one of the older houses in the streets near Church of St Michael and All Angels, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.
What to check before booking
- Is there a chance to talk the report through?
- Whether the loft is part of the inspection
- How they plan to inspect the roof safely
- Will the report include photos?
What this survey cannot tell you
It is useful to know what a survey won’t do before booking:
- A flight on a day when the weather is not safe
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
If you are not sure which survey you need, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and doesn’t.
What we check
- Tall and steep roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Chimney stacks
- Large and complex roofs
- Fragile roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
The survey, step by step
You do not need to do much on the day. Point out anything you’ve noticed, such as stains, drips or loose pieces, and we’ll take it from there. A typical survey takes about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Older roofs in small places like Warfield can have low, tight loft spaces, so it helps to know whether there’s a loft hatch and how easy it is to reach. We only go where it is safe.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
- Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photos of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.
Before the survey
- Tell us about any leaks, stains or damp patches you know of
- Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
