Warren Row Drone Roof Survey
Find out what’s going on with the roof before you decide what to do next. Drone roof surveys in Warren Row.
- Moss and weeds taking hold up top
- Ridge pieces that have lifted
- Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
Leave it or get it looked at?
A drone record gives you a baseline. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It helps when you plan ahead. In a place like Warren Row, a barn or garage roof left to fail puts whatever is inside at risk. It’s worth including them in a survey before a winter does the damage.
There are three survey packages: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, all inc. VAT. What your roof costs depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.
Why us?

About our drone roof survey in Warren Row
Drones need reasonable weather. We do not fly in strong wind or a downpour, because the drone has to stay safely under control. If the day turns out unsuitable, we will talk about another date or inspect what we can by other means. The forecast is checked ahead of the visit and again on the day. Calm, dry conditions give the sharpest close-up photos. Waiting for a better day is better than a rushed flight. If you’ve noticed lifted or split lead flashings and ponding and splits on a high flat roof, we can find out what’s behind it, on valleys and parapet gutters, flat roofs on upper floors and fragile roofs alike.
Somewhere as small as Warren Row, older roofs are frequently steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what can’t be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first. Steep slopes and tall chimney stacks are where a close-up view adds the most.
Every survey ends with a written report, with photos, sent by email. It sets out the condition of the roof, any defects and our written recommendations.

The survey, step by step
Where it’s relevant and can be reached safely, the roof space is checked as well as the outside. Inside, we look for staining, damp, gaps and signs of movement, as far as the space allows. All in, the survey normally takes between one and two hours for most houses, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. Around Warren Row, older homes can have small or awkward roof spaces, so tell us about the loft hatch and any ladder. We only go where it’s safe.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
- We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
- We fly the drone close to the roof to photograph it in detail, always in sight.
- Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.
How to prepare
- Let us know about any leaks, stains or damp patches you know of
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
- Make sure the loft hatch can be reached

What we are asked to look at in Warren Row
Steep and tall roofs are hard to inspect safely. Three-storey houses, blocks of flats and tall commercial buildings are common examples. We fly from ground level and bring the camera close to the roof.
We are often asked to look at:
- Damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below
- Ridge pieces that have lifted
- Flashings that have come away
- Cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below
Harleyford Manor lies about 2.4 miles north, so building around Warren Row goes back a long way. A drone or thermal survey does not involve any work on the roof, which suits older buildings.
What to check before booking
- Do they have a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID for drone work?
- Whether the roof space is looked at, where there is one
- What experience they bring
- What the survey will not cover
Roof by roof
Large commercial roofs
Fragile roof sheets and roof lights can be dangerous to walk on. A drone keeps everyone off them.
Valleys and parapet gutters
Some older terraces have a butterfly roof with a valley in the middle. It is almost impossible to see from the ground, but a drone shows it clearly.

Tips from our surveys
These tips come from what we see on roofs every week:
- Shut pets inside while we fly
- A word with neighbours beforehand helps
- Book early if you are near an airport
- Give us the full address so we can check the airspace
We email the report to you, including the close-up photos taken by the drone. Findings are set out in plain English, and recommendations are ranked by urgency where that helps.
Keep the loft space ventilated. Condensation in the loft can damage timbers and insulation. Check insulation doesn’t block the airflow.
Drones, thermal imaging and Warren Row roofs
White Waltham Airfield is about 3 miles away, so we check the Drone Safety Map for restrictions before any flight. The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Open category rules keep flights below 120 m (400 ft) and the drone within sight at all times.
For site and facilities teams at buildings like Knowl Hill Church of England Primary Academy, big roofs are where photos from the air and thermal images show the most at once. For an older house near a landmark such as St Paul's Mission Church, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from the ground, and that is where a view by drone or thermal camera helps.

Warren Row: your questions answered
Is my home in Warren Row listed or in a conservation area?
Your council is the best source, with Historic England’s list for listed buildings. A change of roofing material may need consent in either case.
Is Warren Row within the area you cover?
We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house, with the route planned beforehand.
Is it a structural engineer’s report?
No. We’re experienced roof surveyors, and visible signs like sagging are noted, but we do not provide calculations or an engineer’s opinion. If one is needed, the report says so.
What about my neighbours’ privacy?
No, the camera is kept on your roof. Next door’s windows and gardens are kept out of shot as far as possible. A quick word with the neighbours is a good idea.
Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?
Yes, if whoever owns or manages the building agrees access. We check the parts we are given access to, and the report makes that clear.
How do I book a survey in Warren Row?
Simply call 07833 053749 or send us an email. After a few questions, we confirm the price and fix a day.
Will the drone show what’s under the tiles?
No. It photographs the outside, not the inside. The roof space is checked separately, where there’s safe access.
