Frogmill Drone Roof Survey
Close-up drone photographs of roofs that are hard to reach for Frogmill, from an experienced roof surveyor. Every survey comes with a written report and photographs.
- Cracked mortar along the ridge
- Wind damage high on the roof
- Chimney tops in poor condition
How a drone roof survey works in Frogmill
They suit tall buildings, steep or large roofs and roofs that are hard to see from the ground. They’re useful where walking on the roof could damage it or isn’t safe, such as old slate, clay tiles or cement sheets. The roof is photographed without being disturbed. Before the visit, we check the address for any airspace restrictions that apply. If a drone isn’t the right tool, we will say so. If you’ve noticed hidden gutters full of leaves and gaps where slates or tiles have gone, a survey will tell you what’s going on, on large and complex roofs, fragile roofs and flat roofs on upper floors alike.
Somewhere as small as Frogmill, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what cannot be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first, and the journey is planned in advance. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.
The report doesn’t just list problems. For each finding, it explains what it is, why it matters and what we’d recommend, so you can plan your next steps.

What we do, step by step
Every roof is different; as a rough guide, the survey takes between one and two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. You’re welcome to ask questions while we are there. Somewhere as small as Frogmill, access is frequently the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- You give us the address and tell us about the roof.
- We check the airspace and seek any permission needed.
- On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
- The drone photographs the roof closely, kept in sight throughout.
- We email the report with close-up photos and recommendations.
How to prepare
- Leave side gates unlocked
- Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with the building owner or managing agent

What affects the cost of drone roof surveys
The price reflects the time and kit the roof needs. That comes down to:
- Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
- Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
All our prices include VAT. Our price is from £400, including VAT. We confirm the price for your survey before booking.
Getting in touch
Here’s what helps us most when you get in touch:
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
- The reason for the survey, like buying, a leak or storm damage
- The style of property, from a terrace to a block
- Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
Getting a price is simple: just call 07833 053749 or send us an email and give us some details about the property and we will recommend the right survey. We confirm the price before anything is booked.
Frogmill: your questions answered
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Frogmill?
The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Do you cover smaller places like Frogmill?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work right across London and South East England. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when booking.
How long will you be at the property?
That depends on the size and shape of the roof; most visits take roughly 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. The report is sent afterwards by email.
Will you walk on the roof?
Not unless it’s safe. Safe viewpoints, the roof space and a drone where applicable cover most of what’s needed, and the report notes anything we couldn’t see.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
Surveys run on any day of the week. To arrange a date, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
What’s the best way to book?
It is easiest to ring 07833 053749 or send us an email. Tell us the address and a little about the roof, and we will take it from there. Surveys run on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes. A shared roof needs access agreed first. Mention it when you get in touch and we will plan the survey around it.
Rented homes, blocks and businesses
Letting agents often book on a landlord’s behalf, with the report sent to whoever needs it. Access is agreed with the tenant in advance.
Letting agents can arrange access with tenants, at a time agreed ahead of time. Surveys run on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, which can make access easier.
Flying and imaging in Frogmill
Within a mile and a half or so of Frogmill there are several hotels, and like offices and blocks, hotels often sit under flat roofs. If you look after one, a large roof can be surveyed without guests having anyone working above them. We fly a sub-250g drone and are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). In the open category, flights stay below 120 m (400 ft) and within sight.
Harleyford Manor lies about 1 mile north-east, so building around Frogmill goes back a long way. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from ground level, and a survey from above or with a thermal imager does not touch the roof itself. If you run a hotel or guest house in or near Frogmill, a roof problem can mean rooms out of use, so it’s worth knowing the roof’s condition.

When to book a survey in Frogmill
Many roofs are never seen properly from ground level. You cannot see the back slope, the valleys or the chimney tops. Problems in those places frequently go unseen until they leak, which is why owners turn to a drone.
Typical things we are asked to look at include:
- Lead work pulling away at abutments
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
If you look after a building like Danesfield School, a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.
Before booking any roof surveyor
- Whether the loft space is looked at, where there is one
- Whether VAT is in the quoted price
- What insurance they carry
- Which parts of the roof they’ll actually see
What we cannot see
We only report whatever is safely visible on the day, so there are some things a survey cannot cover:
- Close-up photos of next door’s property
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads
If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will suggest the right survey. What our survey covers.

Can I check my roof myself?
Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Take a photo and write down when you saw it.
Look up at the roof after a storm, from ground level: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Don’t go up yourself.
