Drone roof survey in West End Green, West Berkshire
Wondering about the roof at a property in West End Green? You can book a drone roof survey in West End Green and across West Berkshire, with plain-English findings.
- Standing water on a flat roof
- Plant growth and moss on the roof
- Flashings that have come away
The survey, step by step
It helps to start with what’s prompted the survey: buying, a leak, storm damage, new work or just wanting to know where things stand. That way we can focus on what matters to you. Most visits take about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. In a small place like West End Green, access is normally the main thing to plan. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
- We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
- The roof is photographed from the air, with the camera kept on your property.
- If the loft can be reached safely, it is checked too.
- The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets in another room
- Note where any stains or damp appear
- Move anything stored under the loft hatch

About our drone roof survey in West End Green
Drones need reasonable weather. We don’t fly in high wind or heavy rain, because the drone has to stay safely under control. If the day turns out unsuitable, we will talk about another date. We check the forecast before the visit and again on site. Calm, dry conditions give the sharpest close-up photos. A short delay is better than a rushed flight. If you are worried about lead work pulling away at abutments and standing water on a flat roof, a survey will tell you what’s going on.
In a small place like West End Green, open ground can mean strong wind. Strong wind or heavy rain stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
Pictures do a lot of the work in our reports, because a photo of a cracked flashing says more than a paragraph. Anything out of sight on the day is listed as such.

What this survey cannot tell you
We only report whatever is safely visible on the day, so there are some things a survey cannot cover:
- Flights in a restricted zone without permission
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
- Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can phone 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll tell you before you book. The full list of what we check.
Roof types and parts we check
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Chimney stacks
- Fragile roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
- Large and complex roofs
Should I look at the roof myself first?
Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Photograph them and note the date, as it helps a surveyor trace the cause.
A lot can be seen from ground level. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Never climb onto the roof to look.
Tips that help
Nothing here needs a ladder. Our suggestions:
- Allow time for permission if you are in a flight restriction zone
- Keep dogs indoors during the visit
- Make sure the loft can be reached
- Tell us about any leaks or concerns
The Premium Survey report comes the same day. Drone photographs are included where we could fly, alongside the other checks in the package.
Do not block the vents at the eaves. Poor airflow lets condensation build up. Keep insulation clear of the eaves.

We do. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one.

How much is a survey?
Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay for your roof depends on its size, height, access and the package, confirmed before anything is booked.

How many surveys have you done?
We have been surveying roofs for over 20 years and have completed over 5,000 surveys across London and the South East.
Different roofs, different checks
Valleys and parapet gutters
A butterfly roof drains to a central valley gutter. You can’t see it from the street at all, but a drone shows it clearly.
Steep slate and tile slopes
Old slates and clay tiles can crack underfoot. The drone sees them without touching them, so the survey does not add damage.
