Drone roof survey in Bramley Green: what you get

We carry out drone roof surveys in Bramley Green and across London and the South East, where the airspace and the weather allow. Flights take place on weekdays and at weekends. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. The report includes the drone photos and our recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, call 07833 053749 or email us with the address. We are often asked to look into chimney tops in poor condition and storm damage on steep or tall roofs, across large and complex roofs, fragile roofs and flat roofs on upper floors.

In a small place like Bramley Green, open ground can mean strong wind. Strong wind or a downpour stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.

What you get is a clear record of the roof on the day we saw it. It is useful straight away, and a good reference for later, for instance when you want to check whether anything has changed.

Flying and imaging in Bramley Green

About 2.1 miles south-west lies The Vyne, a reminder of how long the area around Bramley Green has been built on. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters, and the council can say whether a home is in a conservation area. A number of Hampshire villages keep thatched roofs on their older buildings. Older houses in the South East frequently have slate or clay tile roofs, while many later estates have concrete tiles. Many roofs like these cannot be judged properly from the pavement, and that is where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place.

If you look after a building like Sherfield School, a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.

Bramley Green is about 5 miles south-east of Tadley, in Hampshire. If you are in Bramley Green, booking works exactly as it does anywhere else: a call or an email, a price, then a date. Across Hampshire, we cover Bramley Green. Reading is in our area too.

We survey roofs across RG26 for drone roof surveys. If you need a drone roof survey at a property on Taylor Drive, St Marks Close and Campbell Court or a nearby road, we can survey it. Neighbouring places we cover for drone roof surveys include Bramley (1 mile north-west), Sherfield on Loddon (1 mile south-east), Cufaude (1 mile south-west), Church End (2 miles south-east) and Spanish Green (2 miles east). Within a short drive, we also cover Basingstoke (5 miles south-west), Farnborough (12 miles east), Fleet (10 miles east), Aldershot (13 miles south-east), Alton (12 miles south) and Yateley (9 miles east).

Tips from our surveys

These tips come from what we see on roofs every week, before and after a survey:

  • Make sure the loft can be reached
  • Let us know what you want to see
  • A word with neighbours beforehand helps
  • Keep a clear space in the garden or drive for take-off

Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year.

Have leaves and moss cleared from gutters, valleys and outlets, particularly in autumn. On tall buildings, use a professional with the right access equipment. Blocked hidden gutters cause many leaks.

Why get it checked now?

From ground level, you are guessing about most of a tall roof. Close-up photos show what’s really there. Seeing the problem makes it easier to decide what to do. For older village homes like those around Bramley Green, the right replacement materials aren’t always easy to find quickly. That’s one more reason to find defects before they become urgent.

We offer three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all including VAT. What your roof costs depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.

Why us?

  • Packages from £150, with VAT included
  • An independent look at the roof
  • Plain-English reports with photos
  • 98% customer satisfaction

Bramley Green: your questions answered

Is drone flying allowed in Bramley Green?

Normally it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. Strong wind or a downpour also stops a small drone flying.

Do you cover smaller places like Bramley Green?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We cover the whole of London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Do you climb onto every roof?

Only when it is safe. Some roofs are too steep or fragile to walk on safely. Safe viewpoints, the loft and a drone where it applies let us see the rest, and the report records anything we couldn’t see.

Does the weather affect the survey?

It can, depending on the survey. Drones cannot fly safely in high wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best after a sunny day, with a dry roof and little wind. If the conditions are not right, we’ll talk to you about another date.

Does this replace a RICS home survey?

No. Our survey is a roof survey, not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey of the whole building. It focuses on the roof and can sit alongside a RICS survey.

What insurance do you have?

Every survey is covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and we can provide details if a managing agent needs them.

Do you carry out surveys on Saturdays and Sundays?

We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day. Just say which days work for you.

What happens on the day

Once we have finished looking, we write up our findings in a report with photos, emailed to you. On timing, most surveys take about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Somewhere like Bramley Green needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. The roof is looked at from the ground, from windows, from the loft where there’s safe access and from the roof where it is safe.

  1. We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
  2. A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
  3. The roof is photographed from the air, with the camera kept on your property.
  4. Where there is safe access, we check the loft as well.
  5. You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.

How to prepare

  • Buyers: confirm access with the estate agent or seller
  • Leave a clear route to the loft
  • Keep pets out of the way during the survey

How we price drone roof surveys

Survey packages start from £150, inc. VAT. The price for your roof depends on:

  • The roof’s overall size
  • Basic, Standard or Premium
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings
  • How many separate roofs there are, like extensions, dormers and garages

Every price we give includes VAT, and the report is not charged as an extra. Our price is from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.

What we need to know

A few details help us point you to the right survey and price. When you contact us, let us know:

  • Dates you are working to, such as exchange
  • The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
  • Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
  • The property’s address and postcode

Surveys can be booked for weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays. To arrange a day that suits you, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address and the days you’d prefer.

Can I check my roof myself?

Your own check is a good start, but it isn’t a survey. From the ground, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are often out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.

What you can’t do safely is get up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way, and a fall can be serious. That part is for a survey.

For landlords and managing agents

We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords. Bigger roofs take more time.

Freeholders and residents’ companies use a roof report to plan and budget, putting the urgent items at the top.
