For landlords and managing agents
Businesses and commercial landlords can book us too, from shops and offices to industrial units. Larger roofs take longer, and they’re priced for the size.
Landlords and agents in Deepcut book surveys as well as homeowners. The report gives you a dated record of the flat roof, with photographs, useful for planning maintenance.
Flat roof survey in Deepcut
A Basic Survey, from £150, covers a visual inspection, a condition report, photos and written recommendations. The Standard Survey, from £250, adds moisture detection and a structural check. Moisture readings are useful on flat roofs, where water can spread under the covering before it shows inside. Larger commercial roofs are quoted for their size. We survey mastic asphalt, single-ply membranes and EPDM rubber, and the problems we’re asked to look at most are outlets choked with leaves and silt and edge trims that have lifted or split.
Outbuildings, garden rooms and garages in places like Deepcut often have flat roofs of their own. They’re rarely looked at until something gets wet. If you want them looked at too, mention them when booking. Smaller roofs use the same coverings as bigger ones, from felt to rubber and GRP, and age in the same way.
After the visit, you get a report with photos, emailed to you. It explains the condition of the flat roof, the defects we found and what we recommend.

Tips from our surveys
These tips come from what we see on roofs every week, before and after a survey:
- Have the roof looked at again after a severe storm
- Never stand on rooflights or fragile sheeting
- Check the outlets after the leaves fall
- Keep records of when the roof was laid and what work has been done
You get the report by email and can pass it to a roofer, your solicitor, the seller or your managing agent. It’s written in plain English, with a photograph of each defect, so anyone reading it can see what we saw.
After heavy rain, look at the roof from an upstairs window if you can. Water still lying a day or two later is worth getting looked at.
Leave it or get it looked at?
Caught early, a split or open seam in a flat roof is frequently a small repair. Leave it, and water can get into the insulation and deck, which can turn a patch into a replacement. Surveying it now tells you where you stand. In an older home around Deepcut, water from a roof defect can get into timber and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the roof fault itself.
All our prices include VAT. Flat roof survey starts from £150, including VAT. You will know the price for your roof before you book.

Local flat roofs in Deepcut
Handmade clay tiles and tile-hung walls are typical of Surrey’s older houses. Horsham stone slab roofs survive on some old buildings in Surrey. Next to the main roofs there’s typically a flat roof somewhere, whether on an extension, a garage or a commercial unit.
For landlords with property near Farnborough North station, flat roofs on let property tend to be checked only when they fail, which is the costly way round. If you look after a building like Sandringham Infant & Nursery School, large flat roofs, common on schools and other public buildings, need their outlets, upstands and coverings checked regularly.
Deepcut is about 1 mile east of Frimley, in Surrey. We survey roofs in Deepcut and the rest of Surrey, as part of our work across London and South East England. Our Surrey coverage includes Deepcut. Guildford is in our area too.
Surveys in GU16 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. We offer flat roof surveys to properties on Deepcut Bridge Road, The Royal Way and Newfoundland Road and the roads around them. Neighbouring places we cover for flat roof surveys include Frimley (1 mile west), Frimley Green (1 mile south-west), Camberley (2 miles north-west), Watchmoor (3 miles west) and Old Dean (3 miles north). Further out, we also cover Guildford (7 miles south-east), Woking (6 miles east), Farnham (8 miles south-west), Egham (11 miles north-east), Walton-on-Thames (14 miles east) and Staines-upon-Thames (12 miles north-east).
Near you in Deepcut
Around Deepcut, our work takes us to homes and buildings near Frimley Lodge Park, Tomlinscote School and Tomlinscote School and the streets around them. The closest station to Deepcut is Farnborough North station, about 1.9 miles west of the centre. A little further out are Frimley Park Hospital (1.9 miles west) and The Museum of The National Rifle Association (2 miles east). For a walk, there is Danger Hill and Ash Ranges.
Checking the roof from the ground
A DIY look is useful, but it isn’t a survey. From ground level, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are frequently out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Don’t go up yourself.
FAQs for Deepcut
Do you cover smaller places like Deepcut?
Yes, Deepcut is covered. We survey roofs across London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Do you carry out roof surveys in Deepcut?
We do. Every survey there gets the same written report with photos.
How long have you been surveying roofs?
We have more than 20 years’ experience and have completed over 5,000 surveys.
Does the weather affect the survey?
A survey can usually go ahead in light rain, and it can even help show where water is getting in. Heavy rain or strong wind can ground a drone and make the roof unsafe, so if conditions aren’t right we’ll arrange another day with you.
Do you check flat roofs for asbestos?
We don’t carry out asbestos surveys. Older buildings, from before 2000, may have asbestos in cement sheets or soffits. Anything that might contain it is flagged, so a specialist asbestos surveyor can check before work starts.
Do you carry professional indemnity insurance?
We hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance, for every survey we carry out.
What’s the best way to book?
The quickest way is to call 07833 053749 or use the contact form. Give us the address and some details about the roof, and we’ll suggest the right survey. Surveys run on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
How we price flat roof surveys
When we price a survey, we consider:
- Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
- The roof’s overall size
- Building height and the viewpoints available
We offer three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you’d like to know.
Helping us price your survey
If you can, have these to hand when you get in touch:
- Pictures from the garden or a window, if you have them
- Where water is showing inside, if it is
- Where the property is, with the postcode
- The style of property, from a terrace to a block
Buyers should book once an offer has been accepted, so there is time to use the report before exchange. For any other survey, just call 07833 053749 or drop us an email when you are ready.
What we do, step by step
We don’t take risks to get a closer look. We inspect everything that’s safely in view, and anything we can’t see is noted in the report. The survey normally takes between one and two hours at a typical home, though large, tall or awkward roofs take more time. A visit to Deepcut is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed ahead of time. Weekday and weekend visits are both possible. If there are outbuildings or garages you want looked at, mention them.
- First you give us the address, what the roof covers and any leaks you’ve noticed.
- We look at the roof from wherever it can safely be seen.
- The covering, falls, upstands, outlets, edge trims and rooflights are checked and photographed.
- Inside, we look for damp and staining under the roof where there is access.
- The findings are written up with photos and recommendations and emailed to you.
Before the survey
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with the building owner or managing agent
- If you’re buying, check with the agent that we can get in
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
How to book
Booking is simple: just phone 07833 053749 or send us an email, tell us about the property and we’ll explain which survey suits. We confirm the price before anything is booked.
