- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
- The use of thermal imaging or a drone
Prices start from £150, including VAT, for a Basic Survey. The Standard Survey starts from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, both including VAT. You’ll know the price for the job before booking.
Getting in touch
These details help when you get in touch:
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- The kind of building and roof involved
- Where the property is, with the postcode
If you’re buying, it is useful to book soon after your offer is accepted, so you have the findings in time to act on them before you exchange. For any other survey, just phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email when you’re ready.
Storm damage roof reports for homes and businesses in Castle Green
Storms tend to find the weak points on a roof. Slates and tiles slip or blow off, ridge and hip tiles lift, flashings pull away and flat roof coverings can tear. Trees and branches can also hit roofs in a storm. Our report records what has happened to your roof, with photos. Any older wear we can see is recorded as well. If you’re worried about gaps where slates or tiles have gone and cowls or aerials dislodged in the wind, a survey will tell you what’s going on, whatever the roof.
Being in a small place like Castle Green makes no difference to how a leak or storm damage is looked at: the journey and access are just planned beforehand. It is useful to know where the water appears, in what weather, and what you’ve seen outside, plus any earlier repairs. Photographs of the stain and of the roof from outside are helpful too.
The written findings come by email, ready to forward to whoever needs them. Turnaround is within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and same day for Premium.

Castle Green roofs and the weather
Historic houses like Botleys Mansion, about 4.2 miles north-east, show how far back building in the area around Castle Green goes. Older homes in the wider area often have features worth a closer look, like lead valleys, tall stacks and roofs that have been patched over the years, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material. Many older homes in Surrey have handmade clay tiles and tile-hung upper walls. A few of Surrey’s oldest buildings have heavy Horsham stone slab roofs. Knowing the roof type helps narrow down where water may be getting in.
Take a building like St Lawrence CofE (Aided) Primary School: tracing a leak on a big roof starts with where the water appears and works back. If you own a rental within reach of Brookwood station, a tenant living with a leak needs the cause found, not just the stain painted over.

Leave it or get it looked at?
With an independent report, you have something specific to show your insurer. It records the damage and what seems to have caused it, alongside any photos you took yourself. For an older or listed building in a place like Castle Green, repairs may need matching materials and consent, so leaving a defect until it is urgent leaves less time to plan.

Signs you need a storm damage roof report in Castle Green
Landlords and building managers often need a written record after a storm. The report can be shared with owners, tenants or insurers.
Things that often lead to a survey include:
- Broken or displaced guttering
- Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
- Stains appearing after strong winds
- Loose or torn flashings
If you own one of the older houses in the streets near Church of St Lawrence, the leak may come from a chimney, a valley or tired lead rather than the covering itself.
Before booking anyone
- How long they’ve been surveying roofs
- Their drone registration, if they fly one
- Which parts of the roof they’ll actually see
- How long the report takes to arrive
What you can safely check yourself
It is useful to keep a record: dates of leaks, photos from the ground and any work done on the roof. Share it with us as you book.
Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. You won’t see flashings, valleys or the backs of chimneys properly from the ground.
Questions from Castle Green
Do you carry out roof surveys in Castle Green?
Yes, Castle Green is within the area we cover. We work right across London and the South East. Just ring 07833 053749 or send us an email and let us know about the property.
Is my home in Castle Green listed or in a conservation area?
We cannot confirm that for you, but Historic England’s list and your council can. A change of roofing material may need consent in either case, and councils can also use Article 4 directions.
Do you use drones?
Where it helps and it is safe, yes. Whether we can fly on the day depends on the weather and the airspace rules, including flight restriction zones near airports. We hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID.
Do you need to get into the loft?
Yes, where the survey calls for it and there’s safe access. We look for staining, damp, daylight and signs of movement, as far as the space allows.
Can you tell me if my claim will be paid?
The decision is your insurer’s, not ours. Our report records what is damaged, with photos, and the likely cause, for you to give to your insurer.
Are you loss adjusters?
No. We’re not loss adjusters, and we do not negotiate claims. We give you an independent report of the damage, which you can pass to your insurer.
What if the roof was already worn?
Wear and tear is typically excluded from home insurance. Our report records storm damage and any older wear we see, so you know what the roof shows. Your insurer decides how its policy applies.
How the survey works
Every visit follows the same pattern: we listen to what’s been worrying you, look at the roof from every safe viewpoint, photograph what we find and record our findings for the written report. It normally takes roughly 1–2 hours for most homes, depending on how much of the roof was hit. For a village or hamlet like Castle Green, the journey is planned ahead of time: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. The roof is looked at from the ground, from windows, from the loft where there’s safe access and from the roof where it’s safe.
- You let us know what happened and whether a roofer has made the roof safe.
- We check inside, including the loft where there’s access, for water damage.
- We view the roof from safe positions.
- Storm damage and older wear are recorded separately where we can.
- The report, with photos, is emailed to you.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the way to the loft hatch
- If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building
- Find any records of previous roof work
