Thermal roof survey in Beedon: what you get
Your report sets out the thermal images alongside ordinary photographs, so it is easy to see which part of the roof each one shows. We explain what each pattern may mean, what the moisture readings found and what we recommend. With a Premium Survey, the report reaches you the same day. You can talk the findings through with us at the in-person consultation. There is a 12-month follow-up as well. We survey flat roofs, ceilings below the roof and pitched roof slopes, and common reasons people get in touch are gaps in loft insulation and leaks that are hard to trace.
Older buildings in small places like Beedon may be listed or in a conservation area. A look by drone or thermal camera does not touch the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care, before anyone decides what work it needs. Check with the council before planning any work on a listed building or one in a conservation area.
What you get is a clear record of the roof on the day we saw it. That makes it useful now and a handy reference later, for example when you want to check whether anything has changed.

- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
- The roof’s overall size
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
- Basic, Standard or Premium
Our price is from £400, including VAT. Packages run from Basic at £150 through Standard at £250 to Premium at £400, inc. VAT.
What to let us know when you contact us
What helps most when you contact us:
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
- Dates you’re working to, like exchange
- How the loft is reached, if there is one
- Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
If you’re buying, it is useful to book soon after your offer is accepted, so you have the findings in time to act on them before you exchange. For any other survey, just ring 07833 053749 or send us an email when you are ready.

What a thermal roof survey looks like in Beedon
Older buildings may be listed or sit in a conservation area. Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the council can say whether a street is in a conservation area. In either case, a change of roofing material may need consent. Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles. A drone or thermal camera adds most on the steep, tall and hidden parts of roofs like these.
If you live in an older home near Church of St Nicholas, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. If you look after a building like Beedon C.E. (Controlled) Primary School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.

Roof problems in a rented home affect tenants as well as the building. A survey helps you spot issues early and plan the work with less disruption.
Leave it or get it looked at?
If a big flat roof may need replacing, knowing the wet areas first is useful. Thermal imaging, checked with moisture readings, gives a clearer picture before you commit. In a small place like Beedon, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
Prices start from £150, with VAT included, for a Basic Survey. Standard is from £250 and Premium from £400, both including VAT. We confirm the price for your survey before booking.
Why book us in Beedon
- Weekday and weekend surveys
- Package prices that include VAT
- An independent view of the roof
- Drone and thermal imaging surveys available
Should I look at the roof myself first?
A lot can be seen from ground level. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Never climb onto the roof to look.
The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way. That’s where a survey comes in.
Questions from Beedon
Do you carry out roof surveys in Beedon?
We do. The survey and report are the same in Beedon as anywhere else, and visits run on weekdays and weekends.
Is my home in Beedon listed or in a conservation area?
We can’t confirm that for you, but Historic England’s list and your council can. Both listing and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material, and councils can also use Article 4 directions.
Is thermal imaging included in your surveys?
It comes with our Premium Survey, which starts from £400. The Premium Survey also covers a full inspection, drone inspection where it applies, structural analysis and a report on the same day.
What will the report tell me?
It explains what we saw, what it means and what we’d suggest, backed by photos. Anything we couldn’t see safely is noted too.
Do I have to be there for the survey?
Not always. An outside-only look can be arranged beforehand, but anything inside needs someone there to give access.
Does the report include photos?
Yes. Photos are part of every report.
Will thermal imaging find my leak?
It frequently helps show where to look. Water can travel under a covering before it shows inside, and temperature patterns can help follow it. We combine it with a visual inspection and moisture readings because the camera can’t confirm water on its own.
The survey, step by step
Every visit follows the same pattern: we hear what you’ve seen, look at the roof from every safe viewpoint, photograph what we find and make notes for the report. It normally takes about 1–2 hours on an ordinary house, and longer for a large or complex roof. Older roofs in small places like Beedon can have low, tight loft spaces, so it helps to know whether there’s a loft hatch and how easy it is to reach. We only go where it’s safe.
- You tell us about the roof and any damp, leaks or cold rooms.
- We check the conditions and note how they may affect the images.
- We inspect the roof and take thermal images during the same visit.
- We back up the thermal patterns with moisture readings.
- You get the report the same day, with an in-person consultation to follow.
Getting ready for the survey
- Gather any invoices or paperwork from past roof work
- Mention any parking restrictions on your street
- Check pets are kept safely away

Roof by roof
Pitched slate and tile roofs
From inside the loft, the camera can help with damp around chimneys, valleys and roof windows. Findings are checked with moisture readings.
Parapets, valleys and junctions
Water frequently gets in where roofs meet walls, parapets or valley gutters. Thermal imaging can help show damp patterns around them.
