Your questions about thermal roof surveys in Peasemore
Is Peasemore in the area you cover?
Yes, Peasemore is within the area we cover. We work right across London and South East England. Just call 07833 053749 or send us an email and let us know about the property.
Do you cover smaller places like Peasemore?
Yes, Peasemore is on our map. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
We survey on any day from Monday to Sunday, during the day. Let us know your preferred days when booking.
Can a thermal survey trace a roof leak?
It is a useful tool for tracing leaks, but not the only one. The results depend on conditions on the day. Where it can’t be pinned down, the report suggests a next step, such as electronic leak detection.
When does the report arrive?
The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. Each one is emailed.
How long will you be at the property?
Expect it to take between one and two hours for most houses, with bigger or more complicated roofs taking longer. You will then get the report by email.
Can you survey a shared roof?
Yes, once whoever controls the roof agrees access. We check the parts we are given access to.
About our thermal roof survey in Peasemore
A thermal survey isn’t a quick fix for every roof problem. It shows surface temperature, and things like sun, shade, reflections and wind all affect the readings. We back up the images with moisture readings and a careful look at the roof. Our report says plainly what the camera picked up and how sure we can be. Where something cannot be confirmed, we say what would help next. Common reasons to book are missing or slipped insulation and areas of a flat roof that may hold water, across insulated roof spaces, pitched roof slopes and ceilings below the roof.
Somewhere as small as Peasemore, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what can’t be reached safely. Weather and airspace are checked before the visit, and the journey is planned ahead of time. Steep slopes and tall chimney stacks are where a close-up view adds the most.
Pictures do a lot of the work in our reports, because a photo of a cracked flashing says more than a paragraph. If something couldn’t be seen safely, the report is clear about it.

When to book a survey in Peasemore
Buyers sometimes want more than a visual look at the roof. The Premium Survey brings thermal imaging and a drone inspection where applicable, with a report the same day, which helps when timescales are tight.
Typical things we’re asked to look at include:
- Possible trapped moisture under a flat roof covering
- Moisture around outlets and upstands
- Areas losing heat at the eaves and junctions
- Ceilings that feel colder in places
Whatever the street in Peasemore, a roof costs least to look after when faults are caught early.
What to check before booking
- How soon the report will arrive
- What they won’t be able to tell you
- Whether the price includes VAT
- Whether any drone flown is registered with the CAA
Can I check my roof myself?
During heavy rain, look at the gutters from the ground or a window. Water spilling over the edge can point to a blockage or a sagging run.
What you can’t do safely is get up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way, and a fall can be serious. That part is for a survey.
When you need someone else
Our survey isn’t a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey, a structural engineer’s report or an asbestos survey. Other limits to bear in mind:
- Whether the deck or roof structure is strong enough
- Insulation values or heat loss calculations
- Hidden layers that need to be opened up to check
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will tell you. What our survey covers.

Different roofs, different checks
GRP fibreglass roofs
Water can get through cracked GRP into the deck. We combine a visual check of cracks with the thermal images around them.
Parapets, valleys and junctions
Problems where roof slopes and walls meet are often hidden. We combine a close visual check with the thermal images.
The survey, step by step
The visit has one job: to look at the roof as closely as is safe and record what we find. Notes and photographs go into the written report. The visit typically takes between one and two hours at a house, including the thermal images, and around 3–4 hours for a commercial roof. Older rural homes like those around Peasemore can have a main roof, lower lean-to roofs and outbuildings all joined together. Each part is looked at from wherever it can be seen safely, and anything we cannot see is noted.
- We start with the roof, its history and any signs of damp or heat loss.
- The weather and surface conditions are recorded.
- We inspect the roof and take thermal images during the same visit.
- We back up the thermal patterns with moisture readings.
- The Premium report reaches you the same day, and we go through it with you in person.
Getting ready for the survey
- Tell us about parking before the day
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with whoever owns or manages the building
- Jot down any questions you want answered

Advice
What affects the cost of thermal roof surveys
A few things affect what a survey costs:
- Chimneys, valleys, parapets and other details
- Which survey package you book
- Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages
- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
Thermal roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. Packages run from Basic at £150 through Standard at £250 to Premium at £400, inc. VAT, and we’ll tell you which fits.
Helping us price your survey
What helps most when you contact us:
- The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
- Whether there is a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
- Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
Our price is from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the roof’s size, access and the package, so ring 07833 053749 or send us an email with the details.
Drones, thermal imaging and Peasemore roofs
Where the drone is part of the survey, the flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. Before planning roof work on an older home, find out whether it’s listed or in a conservation area. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, and councils can also use Article 4 directions to control changes in conservation areas.
If your house is among the older ones in the streets near Church of St Barnabas, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where photos from the air and thermal images help.
