Thermal Roof Survey in Eversley Centre
Thermal roof surveys across Eversley Centre, with over 20 years’ experience behind it. You get a clear report with photographs.
- Cold spots on ceilings under the roof
- Areas of a flat roof that may hold water
- Patches of heat loss across the roof
What affects the cost of thermal roof surveys
Not every roof costs the same to survey, for these reasons:
- The shape of the roof and its details
- The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
- Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
Larger roofs, taller buildings and commercial roofs take longer, so they’re priced to match. The price is confirmed before booking.
What we need to know
Before you get in touch, it helps to have:
- How the loft is reached, if there is one
- What’s prompted the survey
- Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
We confirm the price for your survey before booking, so you know where you stand. Prices start from £400, including VAT. To book, phone 07833 053749 or email us.
Thermal roof survey in Eversley Centre: what you get
Flat roofs over extensions, garages, flats and commercial buildings are where thermal imaging frequently helps most. It can show patterns that point to trapped moisture under the membrane. Pitched roofs with slates or tiles are often harder to read, because of the air space beneath, so we also look from the loft where we can reach it safely. We are often asked to look into missing or slipped insulation and wet areas near outlets and upstands, across insulated roof spaces, flat roofs and loft conversions.
Older buildings in small places like Eversley Centre may be listed or in a conservation area. A look from above or with a thermal imager doesn’t touch the roof, so it’s a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof, before anyone decides what work it needs. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.
The report is yours to share with whoever needs it: your solicitor, the seller, your insurer, a roofer or the building’s managing agent.

When you need someone else
It’s a careful look at the roof, not the whole story. The main limits are:
- Proving moisture from the images alone
- Reliable images in rain, strong wind or on a wet roof surface
- Structural calculations, which need a structural engineer

FAQs for Eversley Centre
Are there drone restrictions around Eversley Centre?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Blackbushe Airport is about 2 miles away, so we check the Drone Safety Map for restrictions before any flight. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Will you come out to Eversley Centre?
Yes, Eversley Centre is on our map. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
How long will you be at the property?
Expect it to take about one to two hours on an ordinary house, though large, tall or awkward roofs take more time. The written report follows by email.
Does the report include photographs?
Yes. Photos are part of every report, so you can see exactly what each finding refers to.
What’s in the report?
It sets out what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, with photos throughout. Anything we couldn’t see safely is noted too.
Which survey includes thermal imaging?
Thermal imaging is included in our Premium Survey, from £400. That also includes a full inspection, a drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and a same-day report.
Will you walk on the roof?
Only where it’s safe to do so. We check everything that can be seen safely: from the ground, from windows, from inside the roof space, from the roof where it is safe and by drone where applicable. The report says if anything couldn’t be seen.
The survey, step by step
The visit usually starts outside and finishes in the loft: first the slopes, edges and gutters from every safe viewpoint, then the roof space where it can be reached. In total, it takes about one to two hours at a house, including the thermal images, and around 3–4 hours for a commercial roof. For a village or hamlet like Eversley Centre, the journey is planned beforehand: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. The roof is looked at from ground level, from windows, from the loft where there’s safe access and from the roof where it is safe.
- We start with the roof, its history and any signs of damp or heat loss.
- The weather and surface conditions are recorded.
- A full inspection and thermal imaging are carried out together.
- Moisture readings are used to check what the camera shows.
- The Premium report reaches you the same day, and we go through it with you in person.
How to prepare
- Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
- If you are buying, let the agent know when we’re coming
- Have keys ready for side gates, garages or roof access doors
How to book
Photos help, if you have them. Pictures from the ground or a window are fine; never climb up to get a better view. To send them or to book, call 07833 053749 or email us.

Signs you need a thermal roof survey in Eversley Centre
Cold rooms under a roof, or high heating bills, lead some people to ask about heat loss. Gaps in loft insulation and poorly insulated roof areas can show up on the camera, particularly when there’s a clear difference between inside and outside.
These are some of the problems a survey can pick up:
- Damp that repairs haven’t cured
- Possible trapped moisture under a flat roof covering
- Damp around chimneys and parapets
- Leaks that are hard to trace
Take a building like Charles Kingsley's Church of England Primary School: a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.
Choosing a roof surveyor
- Whether VAT is added on top
- What they won’t be able to tell you
- How much experience they have with roofs like yours
- Their drone registration, if they fly one
Practical tips
Some practical points come up on survey after survey. They’re worth knowing whatever the roof:
- Use the report as a baseline for later checks
- Do not switch the heating off before the visit
- Photograph damp patches with the date
- Make sure the loft can be reached safely
Premium Surveys include an in-person consultation, giving you the chance to talk through the images and findings. A follow-up 12 months later is included as well.
Deal with small splits and lifted seams promptly. Water that gets under a covering can spread a long way before it shows.
Flying and imaging in Eversley Centre
England has around 10,000 conservation areas and about 500,000 listed buildings. If your home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission, so the council is the place to ask. Thatch survives on some older buildings in Hampshire’s villages. In this part of the South East, older roofs are mostly slate or clay tile and many newer ones concrete tile. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Mary, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from the ground, and that is where a view by drone or thermal camera helps.
