Drone Roof Survey in Crockhurst Street
Independent drone roof surveys in Crockhurst Street. More than 5,000 surveys completed across London and South East England.
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Plant growth and moss on the roof
- Ridge and hip pieces working loose
Different roofs, different checks
Steep slate and tile slopes
On slate roofs, slipped slates frequently point to corroded nails. We can see the extent of it from above.
Ridges and hips
Loose ridge pieces can be lifted in a storm. Spotting them early stops them falling.
Drone roof survey in Crockhurst Street: what you get
Some roofs are hard or unsafe to reach. A drone takes close-up photographs of those roofs from the air. It shows coverings, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters clearly, including slopes that can’t be seen from the street. The photos go into a written report. It also suits roofs that would be damaged by someone walking on them. Where a flight is not possible, we explain why. If you’re worried about standing water on a flat roof and debris building up in hidden gutters, we can find out what’s behind it, whatever the roof.
Older buildings in small places like Crockhurst Street may be listed or in a conservation area. A look by drone or thermal camera does not touch the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.
The report works through the roof section by section, from the main slopes down to the gutters and outlets, each with a short note and a photo. It records what’s sound as well as what is not.

What happens on the day
Expect us to ask a few questions before we start, about the roof’s history, any leaks and past repairs. The inspection then takes roughly 1–2 hours for a house, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. Somewhere as small as Crockhurst Street, access is often the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Weekday and weekend visits are available.

Drones, thermal imaging and Crockhurst Street roofs
What can be done to an older roof may depend on listing or a conservation area. The council is the place to check, along with Historic England’s list, before anyone quotes for re-roofing. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of All Saints, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement.

When to book a survey in Crockhurst Street
Strong winds can lift slates, tiles and ridge pieces. It is hard to tell from below what has shifted. A drone shows what has slipped, lifted or gone.
A survey can pick up problems such as:
- Cracked mortar along the ridge
- Outlets choked with leaves and silt
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
- Tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack
Anyone responsible for a site like Capel Primary School will know that thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.

Common questions in Crockhurst Street
Do you cover smaller places like Crockhurst Street?
Yes, Crockhurst Street is on our map. A small place gets exactly the same survey as a big one, with the route planned beforehand.
Are there drone restrictions around Crockhurst Street?
Usually it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
What’s the best way to book?
To arrange a survey, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and tell us the address and what you’d like to know. We’ll confirm the price and find a day that suits.
What happens next?
You will receive the report by email, and you decide the next step: use it with a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent.
Does this replace a RICS home survey?
No. This is a survey of the roof only, and it isn’t a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey. It can sit alongside a RICS survey if you want both.
Can you survey in bad weather?
A survey can usually go ahead in light rain. High wind or heavy rain can stop drone flights and make roof access unsafe, so we will agree a new date if the weather isn’t suitable.
Do you take photos of the roof?
Yes. Photographs are part of every report, so you can see exactly what each finding refers to.
Why act early in Crockhurst Street
It’s hard to plan maintenance for a roof nobody has looked at. Our report shows the condition of each area, with recommendations prioritised by urgency where relevant. That helps you put the work in order. Older cottages and farmhouses around Crockhurst Street can have roof timbers that have been there a very long time, and water through a failed covering can rot timber if it is left.
Price depends partly on the package: from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, including VAT. Size, height and access can affect the price too.

Honest limits
Our findings are based on what we can see safely on the day, so some things are outside what a survey can do:
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
- Structural calculations (that is a structural engineer’s job)
- Flights in a restricted zone without permission

- Large and complex roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Chimney stacks

- Tall and steep roofs
Checking the roof from the ground
You can learn a lot from ground level. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Please do not climb up for a closer look.
The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Roofs are fragile and slippery, and a fall can be serious. That part is for a survey, using safe viewpoints and a drone where applicable.
