Drone roof survey in Littlewick Green: what you get

Our price is from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where it applies, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. We will tell you if a drone isn’t the right tool for your roof. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. We survey large and complex roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and fragile roofs, and people most frequently book us about ponding and splits on a high flat roof and cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots.

In a village or hamlet like Littlewick Green, roofs can be steep, old and hard to see from the lane. A drone and a thermal camera each give a view you can’t get from the ground. Weather and airspace are checked before the visit. Steep slopes and tall chimney stacks are where a close-up view adds the most.

After the visit, you get a written report with photos, sent by email. It sets out the condition of the roof, any defects and our written recommendations.

How it works

A survey visit follows a simple order: we listen to what’s been worrying you, look at the roof from every safe viewpoint, take photos as we go and record our findings for the written report. It usually takes an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. For a village or hamlet like Littlewick Green, the journey is planned ahead of time: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. The roof is looked at from ground level, from windows, from the loft where there’s safe access and from the roof where it’s safe.

  1. We start with the address and what you’d like checked.
  2. Any flight restriction at the address is looked at, with permission requested if required.
  3. We assess the conditions and the take-off spot first.
  4. We fly the sub-250g drone close to the roof and photograph each area.
  5. You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.

Before the survey

  • Move anything stored under the loft hatch
  • Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
  • Note where any stains or damp appear

How to book

If you are buying, it is useful to book soon after your offer is accepted, so there is time to use the report before exchange. Otherwise, simply ring 07833 053749 or send us an email whenever suits you.

Practical tips

There is plenty you can do without going near the roof. What helps most:

  • Expect a little longer if permission is needed
  • Share the postcode so we can check for restrictions
  • Tell us about any leaks or concerns
  • Clear a spot on the drive or lawn

Your report arrives by email, including the close-up photos taken by the drone. Findings are set out in plain English, and recommendations are ranked by urgency where that helps.

Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, ideally once the leaves have fallen. On high roofs, leave clearing to a professional. Blocked hidden gutters cause many leaks.

When to book a survey in Littlewick Green

Steep and tall roofs are hard to inspect safely. Tall townhouses, blocks of flats and offices are typical. We fly from ground level and bring the camera close to the roof.

It is worth booking a survey if you’ve seen:

  • Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
  • Debris building up in hidden gutters
  • Slates or tiles shifted by high winds
  • Cracked mortar along the ridge

Historic houses like Harleyford Manor, about 2.8 miles north, show how far back building around Littlewick Green goes. A drone or thermal survey doesn’t involve any work on the roof, which suits older buildings.

What to check before booking

  • Their insurance cover
  • What happens after the report arrives
  • What the report includes, and whether it has photographs
  • Will they check the loft as well as the outside?

What’s in a roof survey

What a drone roof survey doesn’t cover

No survey can tell you everything, and it’s better to know them up front. Keep these in mind:

  • Roofs and gardens beyond the one we’re surveying
  • A flight on a day when the weather is not safe
  • Structural calculations (that is a structural engineer’s job)

If you are not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and does not.

If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Saint John the Evangelist, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. What affects the price in Littlewick Green

Every roof is different, so prices are confirmed before booking. This is what makes a difference:

  • How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
  • The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
  • Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
  • Which survey package you book

There are three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all including VAT. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.

What to tell us when you contact us

If you can, have these to hand when you contact us:

  • Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
  • What’s prompted the survey
  • Whether there is a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
  • The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat

Every survey is priced before it is booked, so you know where you stand. Prices start from £400, including VAT. To book, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form.

Questions from Littlewick Green

Is Littlewick Green within the area you cover?

We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house, with the route planned beforehand.

Is my home in Littlewick Green listed or in a conservation area?

The council and Historic England’s list are the places to check. Either can affect what roof work is allowed, so it is worth checking before planning any.

Can you tell me if my roof has asbestos?

No. Asbestos surveys and testing are not part of what we do. We flag materials that could contain asbestos, such as cement sheets or soffits on pre-2000 buildings, and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor checks them before they’re disturbed.

When does the report arrive?

It depends on the package: the Basic Survey report arrives within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey the same day. The report is emailed to you.

Do you hold CAA registration for the drone?

Yes, we are. Our Flyer ID and Operator ID come from the CAA, and we fly a drone that weighs under 250g, kept within sight on every flight.

How long does the visit take?

The visit normally takes about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. We will confirm what to expect when we arrange the visit.

Do you climb onto every roof?

Only when it is safe. Most of what we need can be seen from safe viewpoints, the loft and, where it applies, a drone, and the report notes anything we couldn’t see.

Why it is worth a survey now in Littlewick Green

Faults on high roofs tend to be found late. By then, timbers, ceilings and insulation may be wet. Looking from above picks up the early signs. In a place like Littlewick Green, a barn or garage roof left to fail puts whatever is inside at risk. It is worth including them in a survey before a winter does the damage.

Prices quoted always include VAT, and the report isn’t charged as an extra. Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.
