Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Nounsley
The weather decides whether a drone can fly. We don’t fly in high wind or heavy rain, because the drone has to stay safely under control. If the weather turns, we will agree another day. We check the forecast ahead of the visit and again on site. Light wind and dry weather give the clearest close-up photos. Waiting for a better day is better than a rushed flight. If you are worried about slipped or missing slates on a high roof and cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots, we can find out what’s behind it.
In a village or hamlet like Nounsley, roofs can be steep, old and hard to see from the lane. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what can’t be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first, and the journey is planned beforehand. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.
How fast the report arrives depends on the package: the Basic Survey within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey on the same day.

For landlords and managing agents
Letting agents can arrange access with tenants, at a time agreed beforehand. We survey on any day of the week, which helps when tenants work during the week.
For a freeholder or residents’ company, a roof report is a sound basis for a maintenance plan, with the most urgent items set out first.
Common questions in Nounsley
Will you come out to Nounsley?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work right across London and South East England. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when booking.
Is my home in Nounsley listed or in a conservation area?
Your council is the best source, with Historic England’s list for listed buildings. Both listing and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
Do drone rules differ in central London?
Central London has restricted areas where NATS permission is needed. Where we can’t fly, we use other safe vantage points.
How much does a drone roof survey cost in Nounsley?
Our price is from £400, including VAT. Our three packages are Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, inc. VAT.
Can you survey at the weekend?
Surveys run on any day of the week. To arrange a date, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
Do you take photos of the roof?
Yes, plenty. Pictures sit next to the findings they show.
Will you go up on the roof?
Only when it is safe. Safe viewpoints, the loft space and a drone where applicable cover most of what’s needed, and anything out of sight is recorded in the report.
How it works
We do not take risks to get a closer look. We inspect what can safely be seen, and anything we can’t see is noted in the report. Most visits take roughly 1–2 hours at most homes, and more on a big or complicated roof. Older rural homes like those around Nounsley can have a main roof, lower lean-to roofs and outbuildings all joined together. We work round each section in turn, from the safest viewpoints, and anything we can’t see is noted.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- We arrange any permission that’s needed before we fly.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The drone captures close-up photos of the coverings, chimneys, valleys and gutters.
- Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.
How to prepare
- Note where any stains or damp appear
- Clear the way to the loft hatch
- Keep pets in another room

Advice
What else we do in Nounsley
DIY checks: what’s safe
The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way, and a fall can be serious. That part is for a survey, using safe viewpoints and a drone where it applies.
A lot can be seen from ground level. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Never climb onto the roof to look.
Why get it checked now?
From the ground, you’re guessing about most of a tall roof. Close-up photos show what’s really there, slope by slope. Seeing the problem makes it easier to decide what to do. Where a roof is exposed, as many are in small places like Nounsley, driving rain gets into any weakness, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
There are three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all with VAT included. What your roof costs depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.

Do you need a drone roof survey in Nounsley?
Parapet gutters, box gutters and central valleys sit out of sight. Debris collects where nobody looks, until water overflows inside. From above, they’re easy to see.
Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack
- Moss and weeds taking hold up top
- Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Parish Church of St Andrew, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from the ground, and that is where a view from above or with a thermal imager helps.
Choosing a roof surveyor
- Whether you get a written report with photos
- What they won’t be able to tell you
- Is there a chance to talk the report through?
- What insurance they carry
When you need someone else
Every survey has limits, and it’s better to know them up front. Keep these in mind:
- Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)
- The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
- Flights in a restricted zone without permission
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or email us and we will point you to the right survey before you book. What a survey covers and doesn’t.
